Abandoned Pet Rescue

I can’t say enough about how good these people are with abandoned pets. We at BeachBear Weekend supported Abandoned Pet Rescue for what they do for our entire community. I know they’ve outgrown their space and I urge everyone who sees their site, visits it, knows about it or can dig down into their pockets to support them to do so. They do very important work in the community.

I love this place! Kind, caring, loving, and compassionate. Their first priority is the animals welfare. My first choice in adoption. The less than favorable review posted earlier? Oh puhlease!!! Get over yourself, already. It’s not all about you dear. Please support this rescue group! They are a wonderful place to adopt from. Gooo APR!

I have been volunteering for a. year now and I have only good things to say. They truly appreciate their volunteers! I was always treated well and everyone is down-​to-​earth and friendly. I’ve had a very good experience here. Too bad I live 45minutes away. I’d like to do more.

I’m so sorry Becky had such a bad experience. I have been a volunteer here for many many years and the 300 happy, loved animals are very well cared for, not just with food and wate but medical attention. It is important though to go at noon. Mornings are madness getting 300 animals cleaned, outside for fresh air, and fed after a long night alone.

I have volunteered here off and on for a couple of years as a companion. I love the cat rooms, and so do the cats. There’s always plenty of food and water. This place takes great care of their animals, and they’re generally pretty nice to the people that come, but they do seem to get annoyed when people did not follow their guidelines. Visiting and adoption hours begin at 12 noon which honestly is not rocket science. They really do not have time to focus on potential adopters because they are busy conducting their business, which involves many facets in order to take care of the animals. I understand being pissed when you think that you’re doing someone a favor and they’re rude to you, but I think the person who left a one star review needs to get over themselves a little bit. And I would never do business with pet supermarket because they sell small animals that are bred in horrid conditions they don’t completely deal with abandoned pets. If you give them or anyone that participates in this practice your money it will continue.
So, go to abandon pet rescue, but don’t show up an hour early and expect a red carpet to be rolled out to you! ;-)

This place is terrible. I went in looking to adopt a cat. They rudely informed me that I was there «too early» (11:00 am) and I would have to come back because there was no way they would «have time» to deal with me. I asked to look around and they reluctantly let me in the cat room. There were about 40 cats in this tiny room with one small bowl of food. I didn’t see any water dishes. The cats ran to me begging for me to take them all home. I asked if could at least fill out an application and was told again that she was «too busy» as far as I could tell she was sitting on her fat ass doing absolutey nothing. The place smelled horrible. I snuck a look in the other cat room and there were hundreds of cats and kittens. I was appalled they wouldn’t give me the time of day. I left in a huff and went right to pet supermarket and adopted a cat 30 minutes later. I would give this place zero stars if Unilocal would allow it.
