Horrible. I got mini cannoli and mini mango mousse. I basically spat it out. It was stale and floury. That’s all.

2 stars because the ladies who work here are very nice. The pastries are old and nasty. Tastes like it’s been sitting in the fridge for days.

99% of their pastries are made locally at their main bakery on Metropolitan Ave. This is my go to spot for my caffiene fix. The staff always remembers what I order. So even if there is a line things move quickly. The pastries are decently priced, especially for the Forest Hills area. Clean dining area. Definitely recommend this bakery.

This is my favorite bakery in Forest Hills thus far. It is small and quiet which I like as opposed to Martha’s which unless I am in the mood is too loud for me, wait is too long. Depends on what I am getting as well. I love going here on the weekends for a cappacino and crossiant(best crossiants) excuse my spelling. The people who work there are great. So, if you want to go and just get away from all the hustle and bustle and have a french/Italian pastry with coffee, this is your place. I have had some of their desserts as well, the cannolis are great as is the chocolate cake I had.

The cookies here are the best in my opinion. I much prefer this bakery to any other in this neighborhood. They are not overly sweet or heavy. The pecan drops are the best and they are my favorite. The classic Linzers are also very good. I usually get a mix of these and a few others whenever I need to bring something to a dinner or for visitors. I haven’t really had any of their tarts or other pastries, or their coffee, so I can’t speak for those.

By far one of my favorite bakeries! Although l have experienced some stale tasting cheesecakes, they are few and far between. The staff are very friendly and the prices are amazing(especially for the neighborhood). Give this place a try– it’s definitely better than flavorless Martha’s.

Ok, let’s talk about the prices first. Everything is priced very well especially in comparison to Martha’s a few blocks away. I like their mini pastries. Get a dozen assorted, they look pretty on a platter and it’s like $ 15. Last night I had the brownie but it wasn’t really a brownie. More like a chocolate confection with chocolate chunks on top. I won’t complain though because I ate it all. The baba au rhum comes in a little cup which is so much more practical for the syrup than having the pastry sit in a paper cup the way most bakeries serve it. Genius. Did not realize they were connected to the La Dolce Italia bakery on Metropolitan, which I’ve been meaning to try out for over a year already.

A cute small bakery with a lot to choose from! The prices are on the cheaper side which is great considering that Martha’s and other bakeries nearby are extremely overpriced just because they are on Austin Street. I got a small coffee and mini cannoli which was delicious and my friend had a mini Oreo cheesecake which he loved. I world definitely come again and highly recommend!

Really not worth it. I got my wife a Oreo cheesecake and she spit it out. It was old tasting and had a thick crust to it. I had an apple tart and although not great it would be good if it was fresh. Seems to me that the pastries probably have been sitting in the place for days or more…

Small but solid bakery. A few reviews complained of stale pastries. I’ve been lucky that the few times I have been here my pastries were neither stale nor cannoli soggy. I really liked their brownies and cannoli. The rainbow cookies, apple tart and peach or apricot tart were also good. A friend ordered a cannoli cake from them and the layers of cake were superbly moist as if they had been soaked in a tres leches type concoction before being assembled together. Cake is generally a pretty awesome concept already… but non tres leches cake soaked in tres leches — Whoa! The cake itself was really good and not overly sweet. The cannoli flavor was mild but there. I would definitely come back.

This was the bakery I couldn’t recall the name of when writing my last bakery review. This one is around the corner from me as well, but in the opposite direction. I believe it’s been here for about 5 years, and it’s my go to bakery during the holidays etc. It’s right next to my dry cleaner, so out of convenience more than anything else. Not really a cake guy, more of a cheese danish and cookie fan, and the selection is wide and varied. The bakery is more or less an Italian pasticceriea hence the name, Love Pastries of Italy(took Italian HS and University, better be right!). They do a brisk business at Easter, Christmas and other major religious days. Specialty Italian confections are their big sellers. I’ve just finished my biscotti with coffee and it was very good. My cheese danish is my treat for later. Solid place, small, good staff. One very, very minor thing is that, apparently, they catered Hideki Matusi’s birthday cake back in the day. I guess that’s ok, but here in Queens County, we support our hometown NYMETS. The large photo of him blowing out his candles, the various Yankee hats around etc, make me a little edgy, not a good thing when you want a danish;)

A charming small bakery with beautiful displays of cakes and pastries. There’s a large professional grade espresso machine at the rear. Alas, the stuff looks better than it tastes. n Neither our strudels nor the biscotti sampler we took home had much flavor. It does make for a decent coffee break.

Small bakery with not much sitting room. Got the hazelnut mousse, which came with a few whole hazelnuts on top. Not bad, but nothing spectacular either. It looked like they might have a decent selection of cookies(but this is just from general appearance and not taste). There are better bakeries in the area nonetheless.

I love Sunday night after-dinner strolls for coffee or dessert or frogurt. Mike and I have ended up at Pasticceria Amore a couple times now on such occasions. This place isn’t exceptional, but they do have good Americanos and hot chocolate. The presentation of the desserts is quite nice and the shop is clean and bright with a few tables. I need to save some room next time we come here so I can try the chocolate mousse.

In my passage of travels in my former hood to kill time for an pressing vital appointment, I was hoping for something quick to sustain my hunger pangs. Disappointingly a large Éclair at $ 3.00 was extremely stale and dry to the core. The filling was very flaky portraying its stale and dryness, not creamy but merely a big tub of goo nothing. I was so hoping for at least four stars to try and try with an open mind for an open heart but it is a big let down. Handwritten sales receipt are distributed as there are no computerized documentation of sale. N.B. Patrons need not to discard their rubbish as there is no garbage bin in plain sight, thus leave finished or unwanted items on the table as is. Perhaps another try when I’m in the hood again to cross path with Pasticceria Amore D’Italia…
