It was my first time trying wafles & dinges so of course I had to go hard or go home. I ordered the traditional waffle with a scoop of spekuloos ice cream, all the toppings (+$ 3) except no chocolate syrup, whip cream nor spekuloos crumbles.
It was so worth the calories but definitely sugar overload! The strawberries and bananas were fresh and the waffle was the right texture. It was soft and chewy and the guys there were so friendly! Loved my first experience! Will be going back when I’m in the Forest Hills area :)

Every Sunday this waffle truck Is in forest hills sometimes when I’m there or sleep over And wake up we get Sunday brunch at the waffle truck. This is the best amazing waffle. So yummy. Def worth a try ! They have a few different waffles. Plus you can pick many different toppings !

I first learned about the delicious, crispy soft waffles two years ago on my honeymoon (visiting from Virginia), when we had one for dessert during a food cart tour. Imagine my delight when we moved to Forest Hills and there was a Wafles and Dinges cart here… One Sunday, then the next, then the next. Every Sunday! Please never leave Forest Hills… Speculoos or Nutella is always best on a Belgian waffle!

I always look around for the trucks, because after smelling that sweet aroma down the block and seeing people line up for these waffles, I wanted to try it. I ordered the liege waffle, (because they were out of brussels?) with dulce de leche and whipped cream. Let me tell you, these toppings are SUPER sweet. Really really sweet together. I did enjoy the first few bites. However, I couldn’t finish it because it was so sweet. The waffle is filling so I guess its reasonably priced? I plan to come here and order something else.

The quality of the food and service is amazing. Every time I go there I never leave disappointed. Its perfect for any person with a sweet tooth

We’ve been talking about going to Wafels & Dinges in Manhattan for quite a while, but walking in Forest Hills we stumbled on the food truck! We weren’t particularly hungry, but couldn’t pass this food truck up.
One word to describe the wafels, AMAZING. They’re just that damn good, be sure to try the spekuloos spread, you won’t be let down!

Always see this truck on the weekends in my neighborhood — Forest Hills/​Austin street with a ridiculously long line at times.
I finally decided to check them out and was literally blown away with their selection of waffles and toppings.
I’d ended up getting their Liege waffle with fresh strawberries and bananas as my toppings — total $ 6.
Now that’s a deal considering my order was delicious and just enough to share with my mom.
It’s refreshing to see more food trucks in the Forest Hills areas.

Was dying to try this place! Pictures looked heavenly… but so sad that I was let down :(. Not what I expected! The waffle was tough and the cream was overpoweringly sweet. So much so that I couldn’t even finish all of it! I did really like the décor of the truck and the cute little box it came in though :).

I been wanting to go to this cart forever when I was in New York and when I found it randomly just on the street I knew I had to get some waffles even though I just had dinner and was full! I ordered a mini waffle and put strawberries, bananas, whip cream, and Belgium chocolate drizzle! If you love waffles and desserts this is the cart to go to!

After dinner, my friend really wanted something yummy for dessert. She found this food truck on her phone and I have to hand it to the food trucks in new york, I like that they are consistently in the area they say they are supposed to be in. Because in LA, food trucks are never in the same location twice and that is one of the few times Unilocal will lie to you lol.
Anyway, on to the waffles! I got the brussels waffle which was HUGE (that’s what she said? eh? eh?) It was a little bit on the thinner side but still so delicious. The brussels waffle was a bit less sweet than the liege waffle that my friend got (it was also a little thicker… if that’s how you like it. I know, I’ll stop, I promise). I topped mine with nutella and strawberry. SO GOOD. Though I wish I had seen the ice cream a bit sooner. That sounds amazing.
The waffle I got was freshly made so it was super warm and fresh and just the right amount of chewiness! It was amazing. My only complaints would be that it is a bit pricey for a waffle with nutella on it (for a brussels or liege waffle with one topping, it’s $ 6). Though you do get quite a lot of waffle I suppose. Also, it did take a little while for us to get our food but that’s only because it was fresh baked so I can’t ding them for that.
All in all, great experience. Would get it again! :)

It’s a good waffle but it’s pretty expensive. We ordered the WMD (Waffle of Massive Deliciousness) with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. The waffle was a bit hard on the outside but crunchy enough. Whipped cream, strawberries, waffle and all was pretty delicious bite after bite. Devoured in less than a minute! The packaging is a bit tricky to deal with because it leaks through the corners which sucks. I think it’s delicious but still pricey for a waffle.

My partner bought me De Throwdown wafle famous for beating Bobby Flay. the waffle yes it was nice and hot but it was also undercooked. The caramel sauce was still grainy from the sugsr not melted all the way or they just added more sugar to make more of it without cooking it properly. The best part was the whipped cream and I dont think is made fresh. it was overpriced for very simple ingredients. they were rude and they were more concern about taking their tip money than to get the orders out. $ 5 freaking bucks for an ice cream cone… 1 scoop… the cone looked store bought. No thank you for the tip. ALSO which annoyed me, the dude serving the food touched money with the gloves, didnt change his gloves and started handling food again. Thats a big NO NO in the food industry.
This lady placed an order and everyone was getting served but her. She asked why everyone is getting served when she was ahesd of them and instead of apologizing and gettind it done, the girl taking orders got an attitude.
Overall very disappointing.

To put it simple, I want my money back. 7 bucks for one undercooked waffle is too pricey for my blood. I also never had a waffle taste so yeasty. Are the suppose to taste like that? I bought the «famous» Bobby Flay beating throw down waffle for my partner. We both were excited after seeing this truck on tv and Im sad that she did not like it. She said it was undercooked and their famous carmel spread was still grainy.
Not only did I waste my money on a not so great waffle, I had the pleasure of having it served by the obviously miserable rude staff! They messed up orders and gave people the wrong waffle. Instead of apologizing they had the nerve to be pissed at the costumer! We also tipped an received not a single thank you. I don’t know maybe it was just this truck but overall I was not happy.

After having a terrible experience with the Wafels & Dinges Café on Avenue B, I visited this truck with a friend last Sunday afternoon. I see the truck definitely built some popularity. There were about seven people in front of me on line waiting to order. The wait wasn’t bad. It took us about ten minutes to order. My friend ordered the pulled pork waffle. I ordered the Brussels waffle with Dulce De Leche, whipped cream, bananas and walnuts ($ 8). I also ordered the Belgian hot cocoa in a large ($ 4). It’s like heaven in a cup. Who doesn’t love creamy dark chocolate in a cup? The best hot chocolate I’ve had. It’s better than Starbucks and Swiss Miss hot chocolate.
Credit Cards are accepted with a $ 6.00 minimum purchase.

is Forest Hills becoming the new battleground for foreign imperial forces to divide and conquer? I’m not 100% sure, but it seems the culinary battleground is the latest arms race going here, with the Belgians entering the fray from their mobile attack fortress.
parked in a strategic position on 71^st Ave (virtually) every Sunday, the Wafels and Dinges truck is a great snack at any time of the day. I haven’t tried their more decadent topping options, like chili, pulled pork, or bacon, but the baseline stuff like spekuloos, Nutella, and fresh fruit are all solid choices.
service is always friendly and with a smile, and you usually get your order pretty quick. I highly suggest grabbing a wafel then walking a block to eat in Station Square (the courtyard for the LIRR). or stand there and demolish it in 23 seconds, which I am more inclined to do.
it’s fairly cheap, and it’s a refreshing change of pace from the other dessert options in the immediate area.
it’s great to see Forest Hills’ Sunday scene is really picking up, with the W&D truck and the highly popular farmers’ market adding to the Austin Street dining/​shopping scene. long live the (Belgian) king!

Sugar Sugar
The sweetness of these waffles has found a real soft spot for my sweet tooth. We got a order of waffles with nutella, bananas and powdered sugar. It was outrageously good and incredibly sweet. From what I was told, these guys are only here on Continental Ave on Sunday’s. They’re located right in front of Duane Reade and the newly opened Buffalo Wild Wings.
The service here is great. The guy who took our order was nice and friendly.
Verdict — Cool lookin truck, good tasting waffles, moderately priced, and it’s in Forest Hills. It’s about time something cool came along in this boring town.

What can I say about the Wafels and Dinges truck? It is damn good! You have a choice of 2 different wafels. The Brussels wafel which is light and airy with a crisp exterior or the Liege version which is denser and sweeter. Both versions are delicious, they have lots of toppings to choose from, but there is no need to go too crazy, because the wafels speak for themselves.
Grab yourself a piece of Belgium and enjoy.

There’s a flag unfurled on Sundays along 71^st Continental in Forest Hills that always stops me in my tracks to pause, reflect and salute its glory. No, I’m not talking about the stars and stripes of Old Glory but rather the black, gold and red of mighty Belgium, small in geographic statue but large in culinary acumen.
The country that witnessed the world altering Battle of Waterloo, dabbled in imperialist exploitation in the Congo under Leopold II and gave us Tintin proudly boasts one of the most delicious desserts in a box I’ve ever had– the humble wafel!
But this is no ordinary waffle, no l’eggo my eggo over here sir. Step right up to the truck’s window, specifically placing your order towards the left side and waiting for your name to be called by the right. There will likely be a large crowd of undecided eaters hanging around. Those who know what they want should leave the undecideds behind and utter some of the most glorious words in the English language, «I’ll have de throwdown wafel».
As advertised, «de throwdown wafel. Legendary and glorious victor of the Battle with the Great Flay. With spekuloos spread and wipped cream.»
The Great Flay as in Bobby Flay, who attempted a throwdown with Wafels and Dinges and lost. This is the wafel that defeated him.
But you are by no means limited to a pre-​set selection of dinges. You can order a wafel and then choose whatever dinges you’d like as your toppings. The first dinges is free and the second is $ 1. Choose from dulce de leche, nutella, bananas, butter and more.
There are savory waffles available too but I haven’t gone there. My sweet tooth won’t allow it.
The people working the truck are friendly and skilled wafel makers. The system of ordering works and works well. In less than five minutes I’m walking along Austin Street with a small box of glorious wafel, my fork carving out the next delectable bite. So I may be as distracted as a smartphone user while eating a wafel– the risk of being hit by a car is a small price to pay for the flavor sensation.
Long may the Belgian flag fly in Forest Hills! To paraphrase the Belgian motto: Wafels maakt macht!

Oh wow.
I haven’t had a yummy waffle in a while and perhaps that’s why I’m so in love right now– but there’s no denying that they offer a darn tasty treat.
I got the «Brussels Wafel» which is basically a rectangular waffle and got unlimited topping for $ 2 — strawberries, banana, whipped cream, walnuts, and chocolate fudge.
It was, in a word, divine.
Check out their website or call their hotline to find out what the challenge is to get a free «dinges» — today was to pretend that you were sleepwalking! FYI– Dinges are the toppings!
There’s also wafels with meat toppings like BBQ Pulled Pork or Bacon and Maple Syrup.
I heard the hype from my little sister who always saves her money to get a wafel from the Manhattan truck. I’m really psyched there’s one in Forest Hills now. I’m gonna have to pace myself!
