If you want good, hearty, nearly-authentic, and cheap Mexican food, then you must come to Hacienda. For years, when my dad worked at Kaiser nearby, we would always visit and come here for lunch. It was almost a weekly ritual in the summertime. They are good at everything, from chile relleno, to their massive burritos mojados, to their dessert flan. If you want to get a table for lunch, you should come here before 11:45 to avoid all the doctors and nurses who rush here daily. The staff are extremely friendly, and when things quiet down, they are always in the mood for a good conversation. Look for them in the shopping center that also includes a Wendy’s, just east of Sierra Ave off Valley Blvd.
