Lockdown Brewing

They should call this place Shutdown and shut it down! The bartender tells us that the website hasn’t been updated in 2 years which explains why they didn’t have the beers they claimed to. The band was terrible and the environment was so loud and obnoxious that we couldn’t hear each other talking. Glad we walked arose the street to Sam Horns.

Love this place, great selection, great location and great people. This is a fun place in historic Folsom with food near by. Highly recommended.

Nice place. Friendly and inviting. Had a good band there last night for enjoyable night. Imagine will be back.

Lockdown has some tasty brews, and a cool look out of the main street. Place is clean and comfy. Will hit this spot when in the area.

Best beer to get is the strawberry wheat. but the bar tender tried to double bill us for stuff we didn’t order and then tried to lie about we won’t be coming back to this bar after how they treated my husband and I and the bar tenders need more people skills and how to treat customers

Lockdown Brewing is a fantastic addition to Sutter Street, serving up fresh craft brews in a lively atmosphere. The place definitely feels more like a bar than a brewery, which is good for some occasions (when you are in the party mood) and bad for others (when you just want to have a tasty brew and relax). However, the beer itself makes Lockdown Brewing worth going to and the outside patio provides a nice view of Sutter Street and a break from the crowd in the bar.
The Stony Bar Scotch Ale is absolutely spectacular and full of flavor (often runs out so be sure to get it when they have it). I also tried the Powerhouse Pale Ale and Represa Red Ale, which were also very good. Trivia Thursday nights are a lot of fun, but beware there are a lot of regulars that are really good at trivia. The crowd is also a lot older for trivia nights, so they have a slight advantage on what seems like mostly history and music questions.

great service and great beers. I have really enjoyed the Pranqster they have on tap. I know its not their own, but i cant find anywhere else on tap. Plus Beach Hut deli is attached with pool and darts!

Great place, nice patio overlooking historic Folsom’s Sutter Street, 18 craft beers on tap, beautiful crowd, social joint… I was there on a Tuesday night for a kill the keg event. While I did not partake in the beer (I chose to sample other beer pints) the live acoustic music was awesome and the ambiance was perfect. Great spot!

Great beer with many rotating taps! The house brewed beers are solid too! They are fairly new to brewing but on a great path with many solid beers. They’re tap range is one of the best in the area. And the service is very good! The bartenders are very knowledgable and willing to help find the right beer for you. My bartender Madi was very helpful and friendly. She knew the taste profile of every beer on tap which was very impressive! I recommend this place to anyone who likes beer and a chill environment.

This is a great spot to hangout have a beer and listen to live music. The problem I have is the service is terrible. The tall bartender named Robby is the only real qualified employee. The girls are not trained to pour even a beer, I see them wasting beer because they can’t properly fill a glass. The few times I’ve been there they also discuss personal boyfriend problems and drama that the paying customers don’t want to listen too. I suggest they watch a YouTube video on how to pour draft beer and realize the customers experience is more important than your personal life.

Good beer — good location
I work in Folsom, so this is a fun spot to hit. I like the upstairs setup and patio overlooking Sutter Street. The service is great for me but I have seen it off for some of my friends and tourists. If you know your beer and are into the brewery thing the attitude here is great. If you are afraid of the micro brews or looking for Bud Light this is not the place for you and the staff can seem a bit standoffish, but never rude.
It’s really all about the beer and this place has some great ones. A good selection of light to dark and some ciders too.

After a rough day the mrs and I decided to give this place a shot. They brew their own beer and they are doing it well. There is plenty of seating inside and at the bar and there are tv’s to watch sports. Outside on the balcony is where it’s at. It is very relaxing overlooking Sutter st. Enjoyed the Powerhouse IPA and the mrs really liked the Emma’s Blonde. Shame on me for not coming sooner.

Nice little bar with their own brewed beer. Worth the trip and will come back again if we ever come out west again. The staff was warm and friendly. Always asking if everything was good. I would highly recommend this place to see if you’re ever in Folsom.

Lockdown beer was a pleasant surprise as this is not a micro/​craft brew pub in any sense. This is a bar that serves LB beer along with booze and other beer. Lockdown Brewery and tasting room are in Rancho Cordova. Name of bar should be changed as not to mislead.

Odd little place located on the second story of one of the buildings in Old Folsom. A friend I was with wanted a flight so we went in. It was weirdly muggy and warm inside the bar so we sat outside until the sun went down, near a group of rambunctious middle-​agers that were letting loose and blocking the doorway.
I had a pineapple cider, which they don’t brew, but I’m guessing was made by Ace since that’s the only pineapple cider I’ve ever heard of. It was fairly good, a little too sweet for my taste but tart enough to drink the whole thing.
My friends who had beer said that the beers were fine. Nothing to write home about. One friend did love the Scotch Ale and the Pale Ale though, but he’s from the Midwest so I don’t completely trust him ;)
Once we came inside it was evident that everyone at the bar either worked there, owned the place, or was a local. What struck me as weird was the child. Maybe 11? Definitely the owners’ kid, but come on. It isn’t even a bar/​RESTAURANT. Just a bar attached to a Beach Hut. The lady owner came over at one point to ask how everything was and she had a Coors Light in her hand. You own a brewery… and you’re drinking (while working) a COORS LIGHT?! Shouldn’t that say something?
The place also felt oddly sparse. Like they could have fit a few more tables in there, but instead decided to just leave a big open area in the middle.

The place is friendly and inviting and the beer is good. What I like most is the Wednesday night open mic where talented local musicians come in and entertain the crowd. The music is not your usual blues jam you find at some venues. There is a good variety of different types of music. Some folk, some alternative rock, some singer/​songwriters…
Another plus is the Beach Hut Deli right next door were you can munch on a good sandwich while you sip your beer.

A good spot for drinks in Old Folsom. Decent prices and selection. The best part of this place is the outdoor patio seating. Adding to the fact that it’s on the second floor of the building it’s located at makes it fun to sit outside and see the people traffic below. Bartenders and staff are friendly and give you samplers of the drafts if you’re undecided.
Was lucky enough to come here on a comedy night, until the opening acts started to perform. The first couple jokes were enough to make me leave. Unfortunate, I know. Anyways, I’ll come back next time I’m in town.

Furthering our quest to visit and review nearly every micro brewery in north/​central Cali, we arrived at Lockdown Brewing last weekend.
What a great location! Second floor in old town Folsom, with a deck overlooking the main street. Inside, the brewery has an old bar and table seating — a significant upgrade from your average local micro-brewery’s tilt-​up warehouse digs. They have a decent tap selection since they offer not only their own brews, but a «public house» selection as well.
Our experience? Wish the brewtender was more focused on getting great beer to us and helping us in our choices. Also, he apologized that the selection was «wiped out from Beer Week.» Rounding out the disappointment was his understandably hurried state of mind — he obviously needed another hand on board to service the Saturday afternoon crowd.
The beers? We ended up choosing another brand that we could have gotten just about anywhere. The deck, though narrow, was enjoyable and just right for a warm spring day.
We’ll come back in a few months to see if things have come along; for now, it’s OK but we’d like to be able to try their beers and get better bar service.

Setting — 4 — The bar’s nice, and the balcony’s a great spot for people watching (on the rail) or for catching a farmer’s tan.
