Skin Station – Queens

So, I actually do like this place, but I think once I complete my package, I’m going to find a new spot.
I first came here with a Groupon. I had Robin (who no longer works there), and I had a phenomenal experience. After that, I bought a facial/​massage package, and I’ve been back twice to see Sherry. Now, Sherry does a pretty good job with the massage, but she isn’t as diligent with the facial as I’d like.
It’s also kind of annoying that instead of giving me actual tips to care for my skin. She just says things like «Oh, you waited too long,» and «You need more facials.» Yeah, duh. But who has time for consistency in NYC? I’ll wait.
Anyway, that alone would’ve still earned them four stars, except for the fact that my appointment started 30 minutes late, and Sherry was in and out the last time I was there. Oh, and then she was harassing me about buying a new package because mine was almost up. I’ll pass.
It’s a decent spot, but I’m sure there’s better.

Moved to Queens and this place is convenient for me to get to. I think the facials and the massages here are both great, which I really like. A lot of the time you only get once or the other, at least in my experience. The woman who helped me was Carmen, she was friendly and very professional! Sometimes these kinds of places are hit or miss (usually miss) but this place is great, I definitely will be going back!

I had visited Skin Station for the first time for eyebrow tattoo and was very happy with the customer service and results. All the staff is very friendly, professional, accommodating and informative. Very nice, quiet, clean and relaxing place. Darren did my eyebrow tattoo and he was awesome! he informed me every step of the procedure and made sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend them and can’t wait to try the other services!

I’ve purchased the facial deal and finally visit this place last weekend.
It was on Saturday around 3~4pm, but the place was empty, which kind of make sense b/​c there are just so many salons and spas in flushing. ‚
Carmen did my massage and she was simply amazing. She knew what she is doing, it was a full hour long massage of four stages, very relaxing. She did not take advantage of me because I had a groupon deal, like other places.
If you are looking for a good facial massage, this is the place. Very quiet, easy to find, relaxing, and inexpensive.

Recently was offered a free facial. My mother took up the offer and appreciated it

I had a massage today with Vivian and she was very good. I’m very particular with my massage and she got all the right spots with the right pressure. The front desk was friendly and they have good spa packages. Highly recommended.

Whilst I was lying down enjoying my vacation, I received a phone call from a very friendly receptionist, offering me my refund for the extra money that the old management had previously charged me with. It was such a coincidence because my eyebrow tattoo was fading. So I asked if they would do a free touch up instead and they said yes. So I m totally ecstatic. That is customer service! good job !

I had Robin perform the clarifying back treatment. She was very professional and explained everything she did and used since it was the first time I had the treatment. I like the fact that she was good with her communication and also offered a package deal during payment transaction. It wasn’t pushy, but it was helpful since I was planning on returning to keep up with treatment!
The rooms are clean and nice. Heated blanket and well presented. Make sure to call in advance and if you have time, confirm appointment.

Recently redeemed a Groupon for a massage/​facial and have to say that had it not been for the promotion I would not be a happy customer. However, in this case, you get what you pay for. I had a terrible massage (I know a Deep tissue as I get them monthly) and this was not it (was a Swedish, at best). The masseuse used baby oil and did more rubbing than anything else (just a few kneads) and barely touched the lower part of me. Best part was the end (2 minutes spent stretching my neck). NOT AT ALL worth their $ 90 regular price tag which is a way way way overpriced as you could get a better rub down from your significant other. Also, she didn’t know what body parts to put pressure on and it seemed to me she had never been formally trained.
HOWEVER, the 3 stars are strictly for the facial– amazing!!! The facialist was gentle, explained every step along the way, and seemed to be concerned with my comfort. I was thrilled with her and sad that such exceptional service could be paired with such a terrible one.
The spa is extremely clean and zen like. Props on that. DON’T waste your money on the massage. I recommend the place for facials. I will say they were very friendly and flexible with scheduling.
Please hire licensed massage therapists who know what they’re doing.

I’ve been to many massage and facial specialist but by far this has been my favorite place! I’m continuously going back for the spectacular service! They all have really acute knowledge about all skin types, and they are super helpful in giving me feedback about how to maintain beautiful clear healthy skin. It’s a plus too that the knots in my shoulders are becoming less and less from their Deep Tissue massage. Highly recommended.

I absolutely LOVE coming to skin station. This is the only place I go to for facials/​massage in the city. All of the aestheticians are really attentive and will help address any areas of concern. I should really go more often but I just get lazy traveling to Flushing from manhattan.
Also I just want to say that YES extractions are painful. They just are. But you can always tell your aesthetician if it does get unbearable. And the discomfort is temporary so really, you don’t have to worry. Just relaxxxxx :)

Omg… I had the most painful massage here! I had purchased a Groupon for a one hour aromatherapy massage for $ 39. Firstly there was no aromatherapy involved which I didn’t mind because I’m not really into scents during a massage, but this was more like an extremely deep tissue massage. I felt like the masseuse concentrated mostly on my upper back near the shoulder blade area and it felt like she was going to dislocate my shoulders! It was awful and so painful. I like massages to hurt a little but in a good way. This just felt like she was agitating my bones. Will never come back to this location. No thank you!

Came to skin station spa for my first facial and i love it. I was really looking for a place that does facials but didnt have an insane amount of people and this is the place. I got the facial and I used the groupon deal for just $ 39. The facial was definitely rejuvenating. The blackhead extraction was what I was looking forward to though. Afterwards, my skin felt great and soft and there are about half the amount of blackheads compared to before the facial. I def. recommend this place to anyone. Its simple and quiet and its relaxing.

This is your typical, no-​frills spa. I love it. As great as the ambiance is at ‘american’ spas, you can’t beat the price at skin station. They really go above and beyond to make sure your skin is perfect.
I wish we had more places like this in Chicago — that way I don’t have to wait to visit my parents in order to get a great facial.
Business idea?

I was trying to find a good spot for facials and extractions in flushing. I tried making an appointment at the more expensive and «fancier» spas thinking that they would do a better job, but they didn’t have available appointment times when I called.
So I decided on Skin Station. I don’t really trust the Unilocal reviews for the spas here because a lot of them are fake accounts giving 5 stars everywhere or just one unhappy customer ranting on and lowering the business’s rating. So I figured I would just ignore the Unilocal ratings for now and see for myself what each spa was like.
I had been to one other facial place in flushing before Skin Station and it was ok, but they were a bit pushy so I decided to try a different one.
Skin Station was pretty good. I was the only person there when I went for my appointment (on a sunday at 5pm) which was nice because the room is very tiny and it has 3 beds in it and I would’ve felt uncomfortable if two other people were crammed in there with me.
This is a no frill kind of place. I saw they had a Unilocal deal as I was walking there which was awesome. A deep pore cleansing facial for $ 49. It was a pretty basic facial. All I really care about when it comes to these facials is the extraction. The lady who was working on me (Bing Bing) did an awesome job and really took the time to work on my face and made sure it was taken care of.
There were two downsides though:
The massage was a bit painful.
Secondly, she didn’t really tell me what she was going to do before she did it, so a lot of the time I was a bit startled. For instance, after the extraction she put a gel on my face (which stung a little bit) and then used a zappy tool, which I won’t lie, hurt like a bitch. So yah, it would’ve been nice if I had gotten a little «hey btw, you might wanna brace yourself a bit» but I have a pretty high pain tolerance so in the end I sucked it up and knew that my skin would look good after.
I ended up buying a package at this place. $ 250 for 5 facials which you can use at any of their locations which is nice since I’ll be moving to Manhattan soon.
The reason why I liked this place more than I should have was because of how Bing Bing talked to me afterwards. She wasn’t pushy at all. She clearly explained to me the deal they were having and proceeded to give me advice on what I should do to help keep my skin healthy. Oh also, the previous place I had gone to told me I should come in once a week which seemed kind of ridiculous. So when I asked this place how often they suggested, they said about once a month, or once every two weeks if I felt like my skin needed more attention. I liked this because it didn’t feel like they were just trying to get me to buy a package and products and take all my money. She also wasn’t condescending which sometimes they can be. She was totally relatable and helpful. Oh, I should also mention that this entire conversation happened in Chinese, so I don’t know what’d it’d be like if you can’t speak Chinese, but I’m sure she’d still be helpful seeing as how her english isn’t that bad.
Basically, if you’re the type of person who loves to be totally pampered and treated like queen of the world, this place isn’t for you. But if you’ve gotten facials before and don’t like any fuss and just wanna get in and get out but still know that you’ll leave with your face clean and refreshed, this place is for you!

I got a groupon for an organic facial for this place, long time ago. I at last got a chance to go, a week before finals. Why not?
The place is squeezed in between many other Asian massage parlors and salons. I was a little nervous walking up the stairs, hoping it will be clean
It was. I was the only one there and the masseur was the only person there too.
The massage/​facial room is 3 beds set up reminding me a tinsy bit of Indian govt. hospitals… but very clean and quiet.
Not exactly posh or worth the original $ 100 or so price tag.
I have only had a facial at one Indian salon and I knew something was off about that so lets say this is my first
It was good. It lasted 90 mins and included a shoulder, head and arm massage. I think she did surface extractions cuz it got pretty painful there but very briefly. She basically massaged my whole face multiples times while slathering on cream…
Bottom Line-​I left feeling relaxed and with great skin. I would come here just because its so convenient and she did a good job. If not for that crazy price tag. She does offer discounts but its not affordable for me.
So why did I take one star off? Maybe I am being picky but as I mentioned above shes the only one there so every time someone entered the store she had to rush to the front desk. This happened 3 times. No bueno.

Clean, relaxing spa with great service!
I’m a regular visitor for facial treatments, with every 2 week to 1 month frequency. I come with my 2 of my girlfriends and it’s our standing bonding activity. For those who are treating themselves to alone time, no worries — there’s space set aside if you want to be solo.
The spa is clean and the estheticians do a great job extracting all the muck that comes with everyday dirt/​oil, pollution and being in the sun. My skin is normal/​combination, and luckily I don’t have too many issues. My main focus was brightening (I tan easily and hate that) and achieving healthy glowing skin! My skin has seen huge improvements since maintaining regular visits for the past year and half.
Jen, the manager of the store is attentive and has GREAT advice for at home skin care so definitely do not be shy if you have questions about your products and skin care routine. She’s been very helpful with recommending products specific to my needs. She also introduced bb cream to me WAY before it went mainstream. It should be noted that her skin is IMMACULATE and definitely something to aspire to.

I was on business in Flushing when I decided to treat myself to a facial before I left the area. I decided to take advantage of the $ 49 Skin Station facial special advertised on Unilocal.The staff was very accommodating and took me right away as a walk-​in since the place had no other customers.
The appointment started out well enough and I had a discussion with the attending esthetician, Candice, about my acne prone skin and the fact that I would need extractions which she assured me was no problem. I have had facial treatments in spas in New York, Las Vegas, Arizona, California and Jamaica and have NEVER had such painful extractions EVER! When I asked her to stop using the extraction tool (which felt like a scalpel cutting into my skin) she told me that Chinese women did not consider a facial complete without thorough extractions and obviously Western women had no tolerance for pain. She continued to use the tool telling me that she felt bad for me cause I had so many pimples even while I was writhing in pain and practically in tears on the table. The best part of the facial was a cooling mask which she applied after the extraction which temporarily numbed the pain.
When I was on my way out she tried to convince me to buy a package which I refused to do since I wanted to wait and see the results the following day. Well 2 days later I have a bunch of scars on my face in addition to the blemishes that were there before. Needless to say I will not be returning to Skin Station and advise anyone who does not have a «Chinese woman’s tolerance for pain» to stay far away from this place! To Skin Spa I suggest you find a balance between your traditional skin practices and the needs and preferences of individual clients; and thank God that I have decided not to sue you!

Every time I visit, my skin feels rejuvenated and refreshed.
The facials and spa treatments are excellent as is the service. I love the cozy and friendly atmosphere here.
I come here monthly with two of my girlfriends, and our experience is always wonderful! They really know skin… really!
I highly recommend you come here and treat your skin to the best!
