I’ve been going to this bakery for 2 years with very good service and satisfaction with the desserts. Naturally, I expected the same when I went in to place an order for a pie for Mother’s Day. Instead, I was told there was no way the bakery could have it by then, and had I let them know Monday I would have been accommodated. I’ve never dealt with this worker, who gave me an attitude about my request, and seemed put out that I would even ask. I informed her that I’d been a steady customer for 2 years and she seemed not care, even though she has been there for these 2 years. It was at this point I let her know there are an abundance of bakeries in the area and that I will be bringing my business elsewhere in the future. I suggest that she amend her customer service skills, especially over something as simple as ordering a ie, if she intends to retain business.

I have to say a good bakery is hard to come by these days. This one is one of them. They are consistent with all of there pastries, cakes and even gelatto! I have been coming here with my father now for over a year for a quick fix to our sweet tooth and it hits the spot every time.

This bakery is authentic Sicilian! I have come here from Toronto 2 years in a row now and I look forward to having my coffee here as well they have amazing Gelato and snacks.
Having family that is Italian I know authentic! This place takes the cake. It is by far the best in the area.
Ask for the Sicilian pastry made from beans! It’s great for those with lactose issues! And for those who don’t have hat issue try the Cannoli’s! My Italian friends I bought these for said they were the real deal!

I called my local Italian bakery to see if they carried Cannoli pastries. I spoke to a very sweet woman who made my day by telling me that I’m in luck. I told her I’ll be right over to make a purchase.
My boo was talking about them yesterday and I wanted to surprise him after dinner tonight. Once I stepped foot into the bakery I got a great, warm feeling as if I was visiting my Nona’s house. I was greeted by a woman with a slight Italian accent and instantly knew it was the same person I spoke to earlier. We exchanged hellos and introduced ourselves. Maria is a gem! She was so helpful.
She wrapped up the chocolate and original cannoli pastries for me and told me to enjoy. They’re miniature in size. Maria was more than happy to get me the regular sized cannoli in the back if I wanted them instead. I declined her offer because the smaller they are the more he can eat without feeling as guilty.
She asked me if I ate lunch. I told her no I’m actually heading home. Next thing I know she’s whipping out samples of their infamous Gelato. Amongst the samples were Vanilla Cheesecake, Pancotta, Cassata and Piña Colada.
My tastebuds were jumping for joy and my tummy was elated while doing somersaults. She gave me a brief synopsis of the bakery and told me that they have a gelato machine in the back of the shop. It’s nice to know that the gelato is made on the premises.
As I’m taking pictures to add to Unilocal,I see Maria walking towards me with two scoops of gelato on a wafer cone. She gave me the Lemon and Frutti di Bosca gelato. It was phenomenal. I was so touched by Maria that I told her I’m going to write about her on Unilocal.What a gracious, sweet soul!

This place has the best ice coffee … Wow. There is a surprise in the coffee… Amazing .,. Just put it like this, when it melts, it doesn’t get watered down .THE GELATO ON THE SWEET BREAD, TO DIE FOR !!! Not to mention, the staff is unbelievable and very warm… Besides the ice coffee it was the way one of the owners treated me and everyone that walked through that door .she is a doll and a sweetheart .I highly recommend this bakery ., and instead of sliced cake they have mini cakes, the presentation of them is so cute … It’s a true conversation piece at a party or a gathering !!!

Had a recent experience in the shop. I order
decaf coffee and it was cold and weak. The pastry
was stale

The stuff is fair. Prices are fair. Nice local spot that you can roll up on and grab a quick seat and a panini or snack. However, street parking is rough.

Gave them a second try in spite of negative reviews. Everyone deserves a second change.
Crappy attitude and extremely defensive, must have something to hide. Cannoli was not soggy but hard as a rock (maybe so it will have longer shelf life).

Other bakeries in area wanted 2 weeks or more advance notice for a custom fondant cake. Counter help at Francis Lewis was friendly and put us in direct contact with baker, who easily worked within our timeframe, offered advice and guidance and ultimately delivered what we wanted. It was a beautiful cake, as well as delicious inside — great to look at and to eat. Fondant cakes are pricey, but the experience and the quality overall earned our trust.

Nothing to rave about. The prices are a bit high. The chocolate cake tasted like cardboard. With other bakeries in the area, this is not one to visit.

Stopped in here because I had some time to kill before my hair appointment across the street. I am a huge rainbow cookie fan and I immediately gravitated toward them. They were really good, they used apricot instead of raspberry jam which I felt was a nice refreshing taste. Raspberry tends to take over the almond taste. My fiancé got the oreo Gelato and loved it. Will be back to try that rainbow cookie cheesecake that was staring me in the face !!

I’m writing this review as I cry my eyes out because they ruined my graduation cake twice. I first asked them for a fondant cake and they said they couldn’t do it because 3 full days is too short of a notice, which shows they can’t handle a business. I then settled for a rose swirl cake which I asked to be white and with purple writing on the board saying Congratulations Melanie in big bold letters. I wanted nothing on top of the cake because I would be putting a graduation cap on top of it. the girl who was writing this down on the paper, didn’t write any of this down on the order paper. i went to pick up my cake and she brings out a purple cake with six roses on top of it. my face was priceless I thought it was a joke. I told them that’s nothing like what I had told the girl and they apologized and agreed to try and fix it. I came back a half hour later and they give me a white cake with absolutely no rose swirl pattern and congratulations Melanie written in thin clear gel letters. I am never getting a cake from them ever again and I’m never recommending them to anyone on this planet. Best part is they didn’t even offer me a discount for this trash I had to pay $ 46 for the ugliest cake and a bottle of tears.

What a change.
This is place you can stop in grab a sweet and a cappuccino. You can also get the pastries you need for the party. Need a cake for an event, this is the place. How about some insanely good gelato? Yep they have it.
Warm and friendly service, and everything a pastry shop should be.
I nice place to end a nice evening. Or have a really nice breakfast.

The homemade gelato are very delicious, but can the girl behind the counter be any more annoyed that she has to serve you? lol. They need new help.

We ordered Cappuccino and it was really delicious! The cakes looked really yummy, but we have not tried them. We ordered a small dessert which tasted great. I really liked the design of the place and that nobody else was there, so we could have the place for ourselves.
The owner (was it the owner?) was real Italian and really nice. Will go again!

My go to bakery in the area. They have tons of my favorites and treats that I haven’t seen at other bakeries.
Rainbow Cookie: I love their rainbow cookie, it’s not overly sweet and you can taste the marzipan. Traditional the way it should be.
Cannoli: The ricotta filling is delicious. Smooth and the shell is exactly what you want.
They also carry cassata cake and casatelle which I haven’t had in forever. Thank you for carrying my favorites Francis Lewis Bakery.

This place has the best blueberry pie I have ever tasted and I have tried a lot.
I can’t say I am a fan of their other pies, but if you like blueberry pie that isn’t stuffed with hard blueberries that have nasty skin, then don’t come here.
If you like blueberry pie that has a lot of that — I don’t know — pie filling and a few blueberries here and there and a pie that has the most amazing bread parts (not the crust the top and the bottom parts) then get this pie!
It is 15 dollars, and HUGE!

Skip this place. It’s no wonder that this place is always so empty. It is unnecessarily overpriced. I paid $ 8 for five italian cookies. Rainbow cookies are heavy but seriously? On top of that two of the types of cookies that I selected were not fresh. They only accept cards if you order above $ 15.
Take your business somewhere else.

This place has been a favorite in my family for decades. The box of pastries we got survived the 2 hour drive home. The canolis weren’t soggy what so ever and were really good. The rainbow cookies were really go too. However I found the Eclairs to lack in flavor.
