I tried their soondaegook and it was the best one I had in Flushing. Of course compared to the ones I had in Korea it is not as good but as far as NYC I think this would be the best it can get. I did not eat in and took it togo so can’t tell if the service is good but they gave me enough portion with decent amount of meat and soondae. I called to ask for extra chives but was told that for togo orders they do not give chives. Other than that, everything was good. Kimchi tasted really good too!

My husband and I came here two times. First time was disappointing and second time no improvement. Food was just salty didn’t taste good or fresh Our waitress had an attitude made us feel unpleasant. We are not going back.

Loveee the jokbal combos they offer here! So cheap and huge portions. Comes with either beer, rice wine, or soju and 2 meat entrees you’d like. You can either choose soondae, pig feet or bossam. Quality of food is great for the price you pay. My go to place for jokbal!

We ordered Soondae stew, pork stew and gamjatang. All were excellent. I should have tried this restaurant long ago. The soup was very heavy and tasty. I will go back to the restaurant.

We came here last night, ordered set of soon dae, pork feet, and soondae soup. When Pork feet(jok bal) came out we all got shocked because there was nothing but left over parts. As you can see in the picture, it was gross. We told server that this is nothing but left over, he went back to kitchen and finally brought real jok bal. Which was crazy how come do you guys serve garbage to customer? All three of us are having stomach ache and got fever since last night and we think probably this is something to do with their trashy jok bal. I was a huge fan of this place for soondae kook and now I can’t trust them anymore. I had headache and stomachache all day with light fever. As well as nausea after I ate here.

Food is just ok but I had worse service ever! It took almost 30 min for food. Did not bring the rice after main dishes arrive and I had to track down the server for 10 mins. No refill on water, never came by our table once! They had only one server working and other 2 were just standing around and ignoring customers. Busboy actually looked nervous as he looked like he can tell customers were being ignored. I also had to pay at the cashier as server did not bother to bring the check… And when he finally did he gave me someone else’s check! I had feeling that they really did not care for customers. Maybe manager or owner was not working? Maybe servers were very tired for over-working? Still that is not excuses for ignoring customers. I will never eat at this place again!!!

Service is the worst I have ever experienced. It took 40 mins to get our food and the place was half empty. Never coming back.

In Korea, this place would struggle to survive because it doesn’t provide all the accouterments that are normally provided at a sitting for soondaegook. But at the same time, they do provide most of what I expected including: Chinese cabbage leafs, cucumber peppers, kimchi, radish kimchi and some pickled jalapeño peppers and pickled onions. I ordered the classic soondae jungshik meal which came with the soup and soondae and other organ parts on the side. I have to say that I was quite impressed by the quality of the soondae given this is not Korea. The soup had a decent flavored broth but they were a bit skimpy on the meat in the soup.

Best soup and Korean broth joins in queens 10⁄10 will recommend! I ordered the blood sausage broth and my family ordered the bone soup. Both were very good in both flavor and presentation.

It’s the place to be for late night hungry Korean youngsters without anywhere to go. Warm soup, affordable price, and we’ll the taste hasn’t let me down just yet. At our recent visit, the(Bbyuh-da-gwee Hae-jang-guk)(Tail bone soup?) was as delicious as ever, but the(Dak-dori-tang)(Spicy chicken soup) was a little too watery and shall I say …(flavorless). But usually it’s good. Hopefully next time it will be better. Still thankful for the generous 24-hour operation hours. Yay!

Fantastic sundae here. Initially when it opened it really didn’t taste that great but I’ve been by recently and can’t get enough. I usually just come for take out since I get this when I’m hungover but the service is fast and they give you a lot of kimchi with your order. It always seems busy when I come in which makes sense since Seoul Sundae is closed now. The Sundae Soup is cheap and delicious and comes with two kinds of sundae. If you’re looking to just get a smaller portion of sundae they have a $ 15 portion that includes two types and they will include liver if you ask.

You will not be swept off your feet with their specialty in soon dae(Really? The restaurant name comes up as Sundae?), but you’ll hardly leave disappointed. Ever try to argue with korean parents on where to eat? I don’t bother. We’ve been here a few times. My parents enjoy it and they have food Little wolves down happily. Good enough for me. I’ve heard many complaints regarding service, but nothing I’ve ever experienced. If you’re in the mood for a decent hearty meal, it’s a place to check out.

Someone needs to fix the posted hours as the restaurant does not close at noon. We came here for some traditional Korean stews and soups as my grandmother is visiting from Korea as are my uncle and aunt from San Diego. It used to be YangPyung Hae Jang Guk, but the premise is the same. Standard traditional dishes but in a larger and much cleaner and inviting space. We ordered a variety of the dishes, such as the seafood bibimbap and the haejang guk(affectionately known as blood stew or hangover soup). It’s called as such since in addition to cabbage, it’s cooked with liver and coagulated blood. It may sound gross but trust me, it’s all delicious. The bibimbap was huge(it better have been for $ 15), and once all of the vegetables and frozen bag seafood pieces are mixed with the rice and fried egg, they let it heat up on the electric heat surface. You won’t get the typical more side dishes than your table can fit experience here. A clay jar of kimchi and radish, hot peppers and cabbage with Korean soybean paste to accompany it. That’s pretty much it. The quality of the food was above average, though the cow head soup(pretty much sullungtang) was served with already an extra kick of salt in it, so please be sure to taste before adding more salt, which is what my pops didn’t do. The waitress was understanding, and brought a bowl of the soup for him to add and mix. Four stars because overall, it was a very positive experience. Not a five star rating because it isn’t really deserving of it. You won’t be wowed but you won’t be disappointed. There’s a small private lot in the rear, and also 3 – 4 spots out front. Otherwise, street park!

This place is supposed to rival Seoul Soondae but I don’t think it compares. The service is extremely spotty(servers are hard to come by, my water cup sat empty basically my entire meal) and the Soondae is pretty terrible — and I’m not even putting into account the fact that this place is supposed to specialize in Soondae. They also have a very limited menu(especially when it comes to Soondae) and are on the pricier end. They still get 2 stars because it was clean and it’s open 24⁄7.

Soon dae gook has blood sausage, pig ears, liver, lungs and lots of gory looking pig organs broth. i added sesame, scallions and sewoojut to lessen the meaty flavourful but it was still very meaty. The kaktoogi was delicious and made it taste better but it wasn’t all that great. The food was ok but not great to come back for more.

Agree with the first reviewer. The food is just decent and the service is just bad. Our group of 10 were seated right in front of the cashier/hostess desk and she still managed to ignore us! The raw oysters they had in the Soodae combo we got was just ridiculously fishy, slimy and nasty… I don’t know if that’s normal, but it really made me want to gag after I had a piece. So many better options in Flushing… 149th Pl is just a few blocks away with a handful of great restaurants to check out! Or even Seoul Soondae just a few more block down Northern blvd.

Gave this place a shot and but it fell flat. It was actually packed when walking in so it was promising. We ordered one of the set menus and bossam for people. The food here was okay and the service was very spotty. The banchan here was really spicy and there weren’t that many. They supposedly specialized in soondae, but it didn’t taste any different from warmed up soondae from Hmart. I probably won’t come back.

This location used to be another restaurant You-Chun, now they’re under new owner & management. That’s no English name on their sign and I only can find their name from the receipt. They’re located next to IHOP on northern blvd. My favorite dish is Number two on the menu the Pork soup which is sweet, all-natural favor and crunchy. They don’t use frozen meat and have their pork freshly delivery everyday. I love the flavor of kimchi. More important that kimchi can make me eat a whole bowl of rice. The owner told me that kimchi is made by her mother twice a week. It means they always have fresh one coming out. Don’t forget to try their fried pan bibimbap. I’m so excited to find a new Korean place to go. Service is friendly & welcome. I can’t wait to go back to try out other things on the menu.

Came across this place just driving down Northern Blvd. Im a soondae lover so if theres a place that serves korean blood sausage Im going to have to go and try it. So even though I had dinner and came from Spa castle, I wanted to try it. The place is well lit, spacious and each table has an induction burner on it. For late on a Monday night there only seemed to be two people serving so it was a little slow. Their menu is pretty straight forward. Each menu item has a picture next to it for you to reference in case you dont know what your getting. I got the soondae soup, and my bf got the haejanggook(cattle blood soup). Both were surprisingly good! Im used to really think, dense soondae from other nearby restaurants so it was interesting to have this variety which was a bit lighter since vegetables were added to the mix. Milky, hearty broth with the other parts of lung and ear in the soup. Im still debating in my mind whether this variety of soondae is better but Im kind of leaning towards not. :/But on the other side its… healthier? So I think another visit might be in order before I solidify my opinion. Im ending up with four stars for the broth in the soup, the organized menu with big words and pictures, the prices are reasonable, and the space is clean and new. Def. a new place to try. They have bbq and chungol as well. Who knows, maybe soondae will be the next new trending food in nyc.
