Honestly don’t come here. It’s not all that… Came here to eat for lunch and they don’t have anything… They have a few selection… The food is not even good. After eating here I got a rash all over my face and arms. The food taste old and has no taste. I wouldn’t come here again. Also the women at the cashier kept asking for more top. Like hello I didn’t even get any service…

If you’re looking for an all you can eat place, BBQ Village is a pretty solid option. I’ve been here multiple times and never had a bad experience, just personally I think for the amount of food I eat, the price is not worth it (especially if it’s a weekend night). The service is standard, no particularly amazing or bad experiences.

I used to like coming here, but the quality of the food went down dramatically. I had a stomache after eating the food and felt like I wanted to throw up. I need to go to the bathroom afterwards and needed a ginger ale.
Avoid at all costs!

Terrific food. Terrible service. I tipped 15% and the guy came out to chase after me that I didn’t tip them enough. Total cost was over 200 $ and the server didn’t even help since I had to cook 90% of the time. They never even changed the pan more than once! Jesus. First experience was really good and came back for a second treat. Don’t think I will be coming back nor recommending it to anyone in the area. :(

My go to place for Korean BBQ. I’ve tried both BBQ village and picnic garden and I must say bbq village has better/​fresher meat. The pricing is slightly cheaper than picnic garden as well. This place has BBQ and a good hot foods section that compliments the meat. Best part is that you don’t leave smelling of Korean BBQ like you do at picnic garden. It’s more spacious and definitely cleaner!

I’ve had multiple positive experiences in the past so when my friends from out of town came to visit, they wanted to try Korean BBQ so I suggested this place. The ventilation in this place is a lot better than many other Korean BBQ places.
The food wasn’t up to par – most of the ‘hot’ dishes were cold or room temperature. The soup they had available was galbi tang (beef short rib soup) and it was super greasy and the radish flavor overpowered the soup IMO. There were pieces of sliced jokbal that I picked up which tasted like lemon-​scented dish soap. The marinade for the meat were all overly sweet and the meat low-​quality.
The waitstaff changed the grills and removed plates from the tables often. A complaint I had was that the staff would use the same tongs to pick up the raw stuff then mix up the cooked food. That’s grounds for cross contaminating even over fire! Overall the service was going fairly until the owner waltzed over and shut off our grill while we were finishing up. We still had food on the grill but because she wanted everyone to prepare to leave, she just turned it off. This was around 9:45pm on a Tuesday night. My family and friends were grilling the last amounts of food when the owner angrily yelled out in Korean at the employees «don’t you know how to turn this off?!» She proceeded to turn off our grill and and stormed off towards the back of the restaurant. When we asked one of the waitstaff why she didn’t even bother to ask us or even say anything, the response we received was, «she’s the owner.»
This owner’s attitude is a perfect example of poor customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone else. If you’re looking for quality Korean BBQ AYCE then head on over to Picnic Garden and save yourself from the low quality of this place.

I like this place 2x better than Picnic Garden – similar pricing overall but this place had better ventilation, cleaner, and wider space as well. They also have more side options for food while your meat is cooking. I also feel that the quality of meat here is a lot better than of Picnic Garden (which yes flavor may be a bit better but you can tell it is low quality). I just overall enjoy the buffet style of this space with the service they provide. I find it worth to get one’s fix on kbbq here if you’re looking to fill and endless black hole.

For someone who has never had AYCE korean Bbq, this would probably be decent.
The sliced beef here is very dried and flavorless. The galbi is marinated but just doesn’t appear too tasty. The shrimp here is fresh tho. The spicy beef soup is pretty good too. Another plus, is the sauteed clams. It had a nice spicy flavor to it.
The service here is not the best especially when the guy only flipped our meat a few times in the beginning. The rest of the time, either the lady did it or I did it myself. What I didn’t like about the lady was the fact she wouldn’t change our grill. She would simply just use a napkin and wipe off the residue.
If I had a choice, I’d choose Picnic Garden tho. Reason being, I think the meat at Picnic Garden is marinated better. They also have more variety of food in both hot and raw.

Slim pickings AYCE is what comes to mind. This place is falling apart. I went here several years ago during a rainstorm and the room partially collapsed onto the table next to ours and rain water was pouring in all over their food/​table.
The selection was not great and we went at around 8:30p. Their meats are not the highest quality. Service was ok.

Not my favorite option for Korean BBQ, but it had no wait.
The meats are buffet style instead of menu and they had a lot of options (reallllly good lamb) but very few vegetables and sauces.
They changed the grill plate and cleared plates pretty regularly.
Bonus: They have non-​grill items on the buffet, like kim chi, dumplings, and noodles.

okay I changed my mind, after coming here multiple times, and always using this place as a go to for my late night and midday weekday korean bbq place to satiate my craving, I’m finally going to choose this place over picnic gardens for several reasons. First the quality of the meat here is better, although the selection is not as varied, the meat here always tastes fresh and doesn’t leave me with a stomach ache and wondering if I caught ringworms at the end of the night, the galbi here for the full bbq buffet here is absolutely mouth watering, the quality here is top notch when it comes to the galbi and la galbi.
The price here is unbeatable, especially during the weekday lunch special. came here once with company on a day off and when the bill came I only ended up paying 20 dollars flat with tax and tip included for myself, needless to say I felt like I got a deal from that meal. Also the late night special is always a great deal and a nice option for my fellow night owls, however I’ve noticed that they are fairly erratic when it comes to those hours… some days they just randomly close the restaurant for whatever reason.

One of the better of the two Korean BBQ that I’ve tried in Queens.
BBQ Village has clean counters, fresh marinated meats, good amount of seafood, and good turnover of supplies.
They also have a clean restroom, which is very important!
If you order the All-​you-​can-​eat (AYCE) without Kalbi, the cost per person is $ 19.99.
If you order AYCE with Kalbi, the cost is $ 24.99.
Definitely go for the Kalbi for $ 24.99. Its more meat and they marinate it very well!
My wife and her old classmates sat here and ate for 2.5 hours. I enjoyed the food and made faces at her classmate’s child.
I ate so much, I didn’t have room for dinner!

Ambiance: it’s a bit dingy in my opinion other than that there really isn’t anything special about the décor here
Service: depends who you get, if you get the guy, he could care less for you and simply comes around flips your meat on the grill randomly so that you’re still cooking the same sides at times. The ladies are more attentive and actually smile and grab the things if they see you trying to cook the food yourself!
Food: The galbi could use a bit more marinate as could some of the other meats. Their prepared food buffet selection is quite good, so if you come with people who aren’t feeling the krn BBQ they gave options.
All in all will be back, for what they offer the price it really isn’t bad. It’s all down to how much you eat!

The competition for diner’s dollars for all you can eat KBBQ is centered on Northern Boulevard these days. BBQ Village is within shouting distance of Picnic Garden, the other go to spot. I’ve been here a few times over the years and my experiences have varied from great to downright awful.
The most recent trip was a good time but I can see how some reviews might be on point depending on what day you come with regards to meat quality. The bbq selection is pretty good with their kalbi and marinated chicken being tops. The rest of the buffet has a lot of other Korean staples and in general its fresh and tasty.
Service is good here and the place is really clean when compared to their neighbor down Northern. Meat selection is more limited but I would say that their beef and chicken are better quality. That being said, I’m still torn as to which one is my favorite but there’s no real way you can go wrong with either.

I always resort to this place because there is never a wait, it’s spacious, it’s clean, and the staff are attentive. There aren’t a lot of options when it comes to hot foods, only the japchae and creamed corn are edible. Everything else is old and bland. As for the meats, I only really like their kalbi and pork belly, everything else is just mediocre, I feel like I’m wasting space in my stomach eating it.
The prices are similar to many other AYCE BBQ places, with tips and tax, it comes out to $ 32 during dinner time. There are lunch prices, but that would exclude the kalbi section. Also, after 10pm, the prices are reduced.
There are metered parking right outside the restaurant or free street parking around the corner.

I came here a few times but damn… The meat quality SUCKS! I’d prefer going to picnic garden over this place…
The variety is alright but the meat smells off and looks off. Very cheap place for Korean BBQ buffet though…

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner. The bill came out to approximately $ 40 a head with tax and tip. The kalbi was amazing.
Overall all the food was really good. They have an good mix of meats and other food, like tofu, katsus, veggies, tempura, jap chae etc. The quality of the meat is pretty good.
Compared to picnic garden, there’s a smaller selection of meat, but more of other meats. However, the environment is much cleaner and friendlier.
While the staff could have been a little friendlier, if you asked for anything they’d bring it quickly, bit you’ll have to ask. Besides that a great experience and would come here again.

So, we came back to BBQ Village with the entire family, party of eight (8). Korean BBQ for 4^th of July! But to our disappointment, the quality and experience went downhill since our last visit in April 2015.
The marinade for the galbi has changed, and the dishes were not that spectacular anymore. I would downgrade to 1-​star, but because the staff can communicate speaking three languages (English, Korean and Mandarin), I’ll give the place another star.

The verdict is in… Picnic Garden is better! However, BBQ Village wasn’t bad. My friends and I came here for lunch to celebrate the end of the semester. One thing that I automatically disliked about this place is that the tables don’t accommodate large groups. Consequently, my group of 9 had to split up into 2 tables in order for us to avoid the extra gratuity fee. Also, I found it weird that they offer Kalbi for lunch but in order to get it, you have to pay extra wtf. One positive aspect of BBQ Village is that the service is way nicer than that of Picnic Garden! Attentiveness (ex. cutting up the meat, refilling water, etc.) was about the same.
The meat at Picnic Garden is definitely better. I thought the Bulgogi here was way too dry and flavorless. Chicken was not good but who gets chicken at KBBQ anyway? Pork belly, however, was very good, albeit cut up into incredibly thick slices. The cooked food was very good though! The udon with spicy sauce was great and I liked mixing it with the Japchae to give it some more flavor. Pork belly cold cut slices were good. Macaroni salad had way too much mayo.
It ended being ~$ 20 AYCE which is not expensive at all. I’ve only been to Picnic Garden for dinner so idk how the lunch prices compare but I assume they should be similar. It sucks that they have two such similar restaurants located so close to each other! While I would say BBQ Village is noninferior to Picnic Garden, if you were to choose, wouldn’t you choose to go to the better one?

For AYCE table-​top grill-​it-​yourself Korean BBQ, you can’t do better than BBQ Village. Plus they have a Shabu Shabu option, which we haven’t tried yet because grilling beats boiling any day. And even if you don’t feel like grilling yourself, the friendly waitstaff will toss your meat over the gas flames and cut it to bite-​sized pieces (ouch). It’s your responsibility to take it off the grill depending on how well done you like it. I like mine with a little more char, so I crank up the flame, but the waitress keeps coming by to turn it down. The bus boys also do a good job changing the grill plate when they get crusted with burnt sauce, but sometimes I like the charred remnants, as flavorful as carcinogens get.
There are lots of great choices of raw meat to put on the grill. Kalbi, both thin sliced around the bone or LA style with 3 cross cut rib bones are marinated nicely. They used to serve it bone on, the way I like it, but no longer. The bulgogi is there most times, but was strangely missing this last time and was replaced by marinated beef chunks. The pork belly and pork ribs are always good as well as the spicy marinated pork. If you must have chicken, it’s OK. The seafood items include squid, octopus & shrimp, but don’t overcook them. They don’t offer any fish like whole mackeral (at Picnic Garden), but then you and everybody in the restaurant will end up smelling like Shamu halitosis if they did.
The cooked food buffet is pretty decent with a good variety. Shrimp tempura (with heads!), jap chae, steamed egg, creamed corn casserole, soondubu and other rotating Korean favorites. I really like the spicy beef rib stew especially over rice. There is usually 2 types of kimbab along with many of your favorite banchan dishes at the cold buffet. There’s not much in the way of dessert, except for fresh sliced oranges and canned peaches & mandarin oranges. There is also the cinnamon punch which I enjoy. If you really want a heavy dessert, go to Caffebene down the street, but I’ll probably have another shrimp tempura as my dessert before I roll out of there.
