Spa 4 Paws

I actually found this groomer on Unilocal and booked an appointment. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and our dog was greeted as well! The groomer asked how I wanted my ShitZu cut and I wanted him closely shaved down. When I came back to pick him up he looked outstanding ! He smelled wonderful too! The price was very fair and I will be bringing our other pets to this groomer from now on! Thanks for caring for our little Alphie!

This was my first time visiting this shop. They were very friendly and did a very good job of my guy. He did have a little irritation but he has such sensitive skin and hasn’t been shaved in almost a year so I expected it. His cut was done very well, blending of the head and all, I’ve never seen his ears so clean! His nails were done right. Just a very positive experience. Not 5 stars yet, but I’m sure next time it will be. And thr pricing was more than fair!

I’ve taken my 2 dogs here 3 times now and they do an excellent job. My one pug was so scared of the groomer because his nails had been clipped too short so many times in the past. The groomers here took their time & gained his trust & now he’s fine. They smell great and it lasts a long time. They are also about $ 20 cheaper than my last groomer for the same services. I would recommend this place to everyone I know who has a pet.

If you care about your dog’s safety, I strongly urge you to reconsider using Spa 4 Paws. Long story short, last year Bobbie’s haircut put our dog in the Emergency Room the following day. This was the fourth time we used Spa 4 Paws, where’d we’d received two satisfactory haircuts, one that was a little too short but tolerable, and this awful experience. Bobbie informed me that she had to cut his hair a little shorter because some of his hair was matted, but she failed to mention that she’d be cutting it so close he’d end up with multiple cuts and scrapes, and be in enough physical pain that he wouldn’t eat, drink, or sleep for a day. We were forced to take him to the emergency vet on July 4^th (the next day) to find out what was wrong with him. The Vet said that he was in a lot of pain because of the haircut and gave him a steroid shot to ease the pain. Additionally he perscriped a pain relieving gel and we are not allowed to take our dog on a walk in the sun for two weeks due to his exposed skin. He said he’d seen some issues with Groomers but never something like this. The worst part of the story is that the next day we contacted Spa 4 Paw’s and the manager and Bobbie vehemently denied doing anything wrong, blamed us for giving them the dog with mats, and showed no remorse for physically harming our dog. Even if the dog’s hair required a shorter cut, you’d think they’d error to side of caution and would rather leave a knot in the hair than cut the dog. They refused to grant any sort of refund without seeing the dog in person, which is not going to happen because we will never subject him to that place again. You might luck out and get a groomer who is competent there, but our dog was not so lucky. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere if you don’t want to go through with this. If you care about your dog, do not go here.

Disappointed! I took my dog in for a trim and they shaved him. Of course the groomers thought my dog looked better shaved but that was not their decision to make. As the customer, my preference should have overruled. I will be looking for a new groomer that respects my wishes.

I left a review on here in 2013, and I’m back to say, I am NEVER going back to Spa 4 Paws. Apparently I was one of the few who liked the place, the first few times… it seems after they moved into that weird rear of the building, hidden place on US 42, things changed. The owner was never what I would call a «warm woman», but she’s apparently turning meaner the older she gets. They were downright rude the last time we took our dogs there! Also, while waiting for them to bring one of our dogs out to us, we saw a dog HANG ITSELF from the grooming table — you know they hook them up to that harness, for safety, while trimming? Well this dog was in a panic (I would be, too, dogs are scared of stuff like that)… it jumped off the table and was hanging by its neck!!! We pointed it out — the gal by the table, she just kind of nonchalantly said, «oh, yeah» and lifted the dog back up, turned away again! Like she didn’t even care. Our one little dog isn’t a jumper, but our bigger dog is. Out of fear of this happening to our dogs (the hanging thing, which they truly didn’t seem to give a hoot about), AND because of the rudeness of the owner and workers there (who do not seem to like dogs, or customers for that matter), we won’t be going back. I’ve warned off all of my friends as well. We are now going to a different place in Florence, owned by a very SWEET MAN who appreciates us and our business and treats our dogs like they SHOULD be treated!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!! I took my puppy for a cut and he came out with hair all different lengths, I asked that he not be given a certain cut and that is the cut they gave him. I took my other dog there also and paid for deshedding and it didn’t look like she was even brushed. They were brought out with the wrong collars on. I will never go back here again. I wanted to cry when i saw my dog.

Good place — leaves my dog smelling good and for a good price. I came here because I had won a gift certificate for a free bath. I have a 55 lb coonhound and it was only about $ 25 for a bath and she came out smelling great with a cute bandana.
The last time I went here, I took my dog and my parents dog (about 65 lbs) and it was $ 25 each for a bath and, again, they both smelled great — however no bandanas and my dog’s leash was soaked (in water I assume) and they forgot to give back one of the collars.
Overall, one of the better groomers I have found and plan on returning.
