History

Established in 1993.

Khalifa, Inc. dba Pyramid Homes was incorporated September 1993. It mission was to build affordable, well appointed homes. Its owner, Anwar Khalifa, developed his first development, Oasis South, in 1998 in Flint Texas just south of Tyler.

In 2008 We were contacted by the University of Texas at Tyler about a research project for building homes on its campus for energy efficiency and indoor air quality research. After much involvement in the development of these homes, Pyramid Homes was awarded the contract and constructed these homes in 2011 – 2012. This project guided Pyramid Homes into «Green Building» in 2008. Since then Pyramid Homes has had many of its home rated «Gold» per the National Green Building Guidelines by the National Association of Home Builder’s National Innovation Research Lab.

Also in 2008 Anwar started his second big development in Longview Texas, The Palms. All homes in this subdivision are built «GREEN».

Anwar Khalifa grew up in Dallas and moved to East Texas out of high school. He attended Kilgore College where he received an Associate of Science degree. He then attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering. To further his education, Anwar attained a masters degree in International Business from the University of South Carolina. After working as a project and sales engineer, he entered the home-​building business in 1993. He received his Graduate Master Builder designation from the National Association of Home Builders in 1998. He received the Texas Star Builder designation from the Texas Residential Construction Commission in June 2007, one of the first 50 builders to receive this designation. In May 2008, Anwar received the Certified Green Professional designation, the first in East Texas, and in 2011, he was one of the first in the nation to receive the designation Master Certified Green Professional.
