Meet the Business Owner

Robert N.

Business Owner

Bob Newland began his career in insurance fresh out of Rutgers University in 1984, with the Prudential Insurance Company of America. After only a short time with the company, he was promoted to Sales Manager and placed in charge of an eight man staff. Working for Prudential, Bob obtained his Life and Health Insurance license, as well as his Property, Casualty and Investment licenses. He gained experience working with clients and managing a staff. However, he grew tired of being bound to selling only one company’s products. He realized the benefits of the independent agency system and joined the Lubsen & McPherson Agency in 1990 as a producer. When Geoff Lubsen retired in 1996, Bob assumed an office manager position for Jim McPherson and became a partner in the agency in June of 2004. In July of 2010, Jim retired and Bob purchased his interest in the business. Bob credits Jim McPherson with instilling in him a strong sense of responsibility to serve the community and help others.
