4 stars is for proper escovitch fish I ordered for my bday shingding! Back in the days, I use to visit this spot, but haven’t lately. Anyway, my moms put the order in Friday and paid in full. It was suppose to be ready for pickup Saturday evening. When I went there, it was not ready… they didn’t even start it. They asked me to wait for it, which I refused to do and had to come back Sunday morning, which was inconvenient, but whatever. The fish was GREAT! and the price was right. They really need to organize themselves a bit though. Imagine if I had a function the Saturday night and REALLY needed it?!

DONOTEATHERE!!! This place is a total rip off!!! I ordered a medium jerk pork, rice & peas and macaroni salad. The portion was EXTREMELY small! I could have ordered the same thing down the street from«Caribbean Vibes» which would have fed me for two days and would have costed me a dollar less! I decided on this place because it was raining and it’s closer to my house.

Customer service experience is horrendous. This place need to be close down for good. We like to support our community and entrepreneurs, nonetheless they are extremely unprofessional and display no sign of customer service. Quiet frank they all need to attend a customer service workshop. They are rude and nasty. They do not greet and look at you like your doing them a favor. The food was disgusting. I wasted my funds buying an oxtail dinner and threw it in the trash. The owner need to serious take heat of what people are saying about their business. Just because it is West Indians doesn’t mean you have to be nasty. West Indians culture is to be polite. Everyone should be fire.

I had the oxtail w peas and rice & regular salad. My friend ordered the shrimp pasta but after we opened our food he only found 3 shrimp(it was a medium) so he decided to ask them for more shrimp. The guy behind the counter called the lady who works on the register and she took it, threw it out(I didn’t agree w that, they could’ve given it away to someone right outside) & gave him a whole new medium meal. So he copied my meal and for the oxtail w macaroni salad instead and we were both in awe of how good it tasted. The foods great honestly I just didn’t like how they threw out perfectly good food.

The jerk chicken was several days old. It had that old chicken taste. It made me feel sick almost immediately after I ate it, and I have a stomach of steel. I will not be returning. I am very disappointed with this restaurant

Service sucks!!! This place is always packed because as more guests arrive the slower the employees move I feel. They have no sense of urgency. If you’re on a lunch break this is not the place for you. The food is ok my rice had a burnt flavor like it was left in the pot for too long not appealing but the macaroni salad is a must.

Their oxtails… with the white rice… and a side of the macaroni salad… I was in heaven. I can’t wait to return. Thank goodness that I have family that live within walking distance, because I don’t.

I was very disappointed with the service at C & J on Flatbush Avenue & it just continues to get worst! I went to place an order & expressed that I do not eat rice & would like to have a substitute possibly double veggies or macaroni salad & veggies which I was blatantly told NO, not only was the cashier popping her gum in my face but then had the nerve to turn around & say«we dont have enough to give you». I was in total shock! Not only was the macaroni on FULLVIEW but it was a large tray totally full. I was not asking for the whole entire tray! I was asking for a spoon full. I guess it was too much for C & J to make a customer who does not eat rice happy & I will never patronize them ever again. Too bad you can not give a rating of negative a star!

The good isn’t as good as it use to be. The rice disappoints me each time. but macaroni still on point. i truly consider this like fast food now

So good! Stumbled across this gem after a show at Kings Theater. Not sure what I ate(I know it was chicken), but it was tasty! Asked for a spicy plate and a mild plate and the staff obliged. Very reasonably priced and everyone was friendly.

Great Jamaican food. The wait time is horrible and the staff is not friendly. I would still recommend them because the food is almost authentic.

Man oh man this restaurant has the best oxtail I’ve ever had. If you want authentic West Indian food this is as good as it gets. Also the macaroni salad is like crack. You won’t want to stop eating lol. The only problem I have with this place is. It takes a little while to get your food. The reason is because it’s always crowded and it is located on Flatbush and church which is def a busy area.

Awesome food!!! Jah know!(I am Ja-Fakin’ just love the Jamaican food, culture and music) obsessed with their jerk chicken with white rice plantain and stew chicken gravy but the line sweet Jesus Mary and Joseph #TheStruggleIsReal the wait is always an eternity, like seriously I feel like I’m being punished because while you’re starving and waiting and looking at all the good food(behind the clear display mind you) and inhaling the tasty goodness you are still suffering on that unforgiving evil line.
