Krav Maga is the official self-​defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces and has been taught to hundreds of law enforcement agencies and thousands of civilians around the world. A unique combination of high intensity training and practical self-​defense, Krav Maga is like no other self-​defense system in the world — and it is now available in Indianapolis.

Krav Maga Worldwide Indy is the only official training center in the state of Indiana. At Krav Maga Indy students learn an effective self-​defense system that emphasizes instinctive movements, practical techniques, and realistic training scenarios that provide students the tools they need to protect themselves in a minimal amount of time.

Krav Maga Worldwide Indy offers a full adult program and a full kids program for children ages 3 – 12. In addition to self-​defense classes, they also offer a fitness program combined of TRX and Bag classes.

History

Established in 1948.

Krav Maga (‘contact combat’ in Hebrew) was founded by Imi Lichtenfeld. Imi developed his fighting skills on the streets of Bratislava, to protect himself and other Jews from anti-​Semitic mobs (1930’s).

A few years later, Imi arrived in Israel. With his reputation proceeding him, the Israeli government asked Imi to develop an effective fighting system to send soldiers, of all ages and abilities, into battle with minimal training and no time for retraining or refresher courses.

Israel needed an immediate army! The system had to be easy to learn and easy to remember under stress. This system is Krav Maga (1948). An aggressive, never quit, threat neutralizing system. Krav was used to form the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) with Imi as chief instructor.

One of Imi’s students was Darren Levine. Darren brought Krav to the United States in 1981. Since, Krav Maga has been taught throughout the US and abroad to law enforcement, military, and civilians as the leading system in self-​defense.

Business Owner

Jeff and Cecilia moved to Indiana to open the state’s only official Krav Maga Worldwide (KMW) training center. Together, they have been providing leading self-​defense skills to Indiana residents since 2008.

Jeff was introduced to KMW after college in order to fulfill the physical void he missed from wrestling. Instantly, he fell in love with the system.

Jeff had competitively wrestled in Japan and throughout the United States. He also partook in Sport Fighting with many different associations. In addition to his elaborate athletic resume, he has studied Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu, Judo, boxing, and Thai kickboxing.

Jeff is currently the Head Instructor of Krav Maga Worldwide Indy and recently earned the rank of Black Belt Third Dan (instructor level) in 2014. He is one of only a select few to hold this title in the KMW System!
