Last week we stopped this Gas station to fill our car on the way to Kings Canyon for family camping and after we had lunch at Foster’s Freeze next to this Shell gas station,
our car didn’t start.
When we asked Rafael who worked at this Shell gas station for help, he came and helped us to jump the car, but our car still didn’t start. So Rafael gave us a ride to Auto part store to buy a new battery which was about 18 miles away and he even gave us a ride back to our car!
We could have been had very hard time because we don’t know anybody in Fresno and we didn’t have AAA either.
But because of Rafael’s kindness, we saved our time and money.
We really want to thank Rafael and thank to the owner of this gas station who allowed Rafael to help us!

We stopped here to use the restrooms, which were very clean! They had a lot of advertisements for their self-​serve frozen yogurt, so we went inside to check it out. They had 8 flavors, plus a swirl between each one! They also had cup dividers to divide up your flavors which I had never seen before! They had a fair variety of toppings considering they were a gas station. The flavors I got were espresso (so delicious!), New York cheesecake (eh, so-​so), and vanilla + watermelon swirl (pretty good!). It was a fun little pit stop :)

Bathrooms are filthy and paid $ 20 bucks for a bag of beef jerky. You think with the profit they make from over charging, they would use it to upkeep there restrooms.

The clerk won’t bother to tell you the restrooms are out of order. But he will be bothered that you asked him a stupid question while he tries to ring you up.

After being stuck on I-​5 due to construction for over an hour, we needed a pit stop and well we didn’t get our chance our Kettleman so we kept going and going… and going… and finally hurrah, Firebaugh. We stopped at this Shell and now wishing we went to the Chevron or 76 because the bathrooms were outside and there were flies going in and out. It was kind of clean but the flies were really what turned me off.

When it comes to fuel this place is regular price for being in the desert. Sad but true. Bathrooms are always tagged by all you damn travelers and are cleaned many times a day. But i come here for the frozen yogurt. It’s a really great deal and is perfect for hot days like today. Service is friendly and location is clean.

Both Gas and Frozen Yogurt were overpriced! I’ve seen cleaner bathrooms in the ghettos of Tijuana and friendlier service in NYC… NOT!!! Rude motha¥£€k, pick your chin up and clean your disgusting work place, it’s not the customers fault you have a shitty job!

Staff isn’t very friendly and prices are to high for the service and just in general but on the bright side they have frozen yogurt and assorted nuts. Chevron which is right across the street from it is tons better even for the extra money on gas it’s definitely worth it to leave shell

I was not super impressed with this Shell Station. The gas wasn’t particularly cheap, but when you’re in the middle of nowhere you can’t be too picky.
The bathrooms were pretty bad. You enter the restrooms from outside the building on the left. That’s usually not a good sign when you have to enter from the outside. I was reassured by the sight of the Dyson airblade hand dryer, but not by all the toilet paper on floor. The toilets themselves appeared to be very clean, but the mirror over sink was a God awful mess, splashed with soapy water most likely splashed back from the sink. At least I HOPE that’s where the splashes came from.
Inside was advertised self serve frozen yogurt. There were four pairs of machines for a total of eight flavors, but only 3 had flavor signs on them. I was willing to settle for those three flavors, but the cashier informed me that none of them were working in a tone of voice that led me to believe that this happened pretty often.
They carried a good selection of drinks in the cooler and munchies, both sugary and salty.
There was a van full of teenagers that pulled up to get gas while I was there. They walked into the convenience store and walked right back out again and headed across the street to look for munchies.
Not a fan.
UPDATE: ²⁄₁₄ — I was contacted by the manager who let me know that they were still in the process of training their employees to run the frozen yogurt machines at the time. I’ll stop by on my next trip North and if the station shows signs of improvement I will update my review accordingly.

Kinda cool how they have a Yogurt Swirl inside but the employee is all over the place going in and out and bathrooms are dirty.

Why am I reviewing this gas station? Well, I’m getting used to driving up and down the 5 from SF to LA and you have to know which gas stations are OK to stop at and others not so much…
This gas station is DEFINITELY on your avoid list. The restrooms are DISGUSTING. Seriously, there is a dyson hand dryer, but DIRTY DIRTY restrooms. I get it, not all gas station restrooms are nice but this is bad. toilet seats are gross, probably haven’t cleaned the floors in years.
AVOID!

No water in the washer bucket, no towels, garbage on the ground. What happen to Shell being a higher end gas station?

Expensive!
Primitive technology… following the herd… lacking modernity… lacking innovation… anticlimactic… deflating… pessimistic…
Why go to this station?
Because you have to!
Terrible to be obliged to pump your auto full of expensive pollutants that funnel money to execs who fill their luxury jets up with your money.

It’s hot, it’s expensive, it’s in the middle of nothing. But it does have gas, which is, after all, why you wanted to stop right? Who lives out here anyway!

This location has crappy facilities and the prices on gas are 20 to 30 cents higher. Stay away, wait until you see the next gas station in 10ish miles!

F.Y.I: If you’re on a road trip or traveling to the bay from SD like I was… the only reasons for you to stop here would be that you’re close to driving 30 miles after you gas light turned on or you can out of gas and this was the closest gas station to push your car to!
The service was HORRIBLE and the employee at the register was rude… Honestly, why would you ever tell a customer to get 4 cents from their car so you can just give them a dollar instead of counting out all the coins to give back their change! Really? How about you ask the customer if they have 4 cents and leave it up to them to decide if they want to walk back to their car to get it. One Word: Ruuuuuuuude… Another Word: Secuuuuurity!
The bathrooms were disgusting and there were paper towels all over the floor near the sinks and the gas pump handle was broken and didn’t have the latch to hold the trigger still to fill your tank with gas. Once I finished filling up my car with gas (and trust… it feels like forever when you have to hold the gas pump for a full tank of gas) I wanted to clean my windshield off that was covered with the poor insects who didn’t make it… R.I.P little buggies! I got the squeegy and what do you know… there were no paper towels to wipe off squeegy off with. Worst part about this emergency gas stop was I paid $ 4.04/gal…what a rip off! These gas stations are something else and hike up the prices knowing that they are the only gas station for the next 30 mile. I guess its a smart business move but sucks for broke ass college students like myself.
So bottom line… make sure you either carry a spare tank of gas in your car to avoid situations like mine or only stop here if it absolutely necessary because you don’t feel like pushing your car on the freeway or calling a tow truck! Other than that… Peace Out Unilocalers… YAYL ( Unilocal At You Later)!

Talk about being in the middle of nowhere.
Was about at half tank so I decided to get gas since it was the only Shell I saw for miles upon miles.
Cashier seemed to hate her job, pretty clean store.

Just thought I’d put this place on the map.
We stopped by here on the way home from LA.
Overhearing a conversation with the clerk and another customer,
BF thought this city was called «Fireball». LOL
It is the only gas station around for probably another 40 – 60 miles…
So I recommend you FILL UP YOUR TANKS!!!
It’s crazy cuz it’s like in the middle of nowhere.
We left wondering where the hell the cashier guy must live in order to drive all that distance to work everyday.
