Simply Paws is a one stop shop for your pet. Come check out our pet store, grooming and daycare. We have a 7900 sqft facility that houses doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, training, self serve dog wash and supplies.

Knowledgeable Employees In-store — Our employees are knowledgeable and can recommend products to fit your needs.

Dog Daycare– The daycare has an area for dogs under 20 pounds and two areas for medium and large dog play groups.

Dog Training — We have two trainers. The classes are six weeks on Sundays or Mondays. There are puppy classes and adult obedience classes.

Dog Boarding– Our boarding suites are 4×4 and 4×7 and are 35 dollars per night for the first dog and 20 dollars per night for the second dog.

Grooming — Voted Best Groomer in Federal Way– Our Grooming as over 30 years combined professional experience. Our groomers are kind, caring and gentle. Senior-citizens get the time and attention they need. We even groom cats.

Self Serve Dog Wash– We have everything you need to give your pup a bath. Shampoo, conditioner, brushes, ear cleaner, face wash, towels, and even a dryer.

I wanted to open a pet facility in my neighborhood and couldnt find one, so I opened Simply Paws. It has changed over the years, adding services as customers requested it. We started with a 1200sqft store and now have a 7900 sqft facility that houses doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, training, self serve dog wash and supplies. We are bursting at the seems here and need a bigger facility!

Marnie grew has lived her entire life in FW. She is a teacher with her Masters, in the Tacoma School District.

Jon grew up in Olympia and led a nomadic life before settling in FW. I served in the USMC, graduated from WSU. I am currently working on getting my Masters in Teaching.

We have a son, named Landon.

Sims was the true owner of Simply Paws. He was my first Bernese Mountain Dog. I have another Berner, CHander, who was born 1÷30÷2012.

My favorite place for grooming and boarding!
I left my 2 dogs here for three weeks (one chihuahua and one bischon fries) while I went on vacation. I was very nervous at first because no pawrent ever wants to leave their fur babies for that long and it was my first time using Simply Paws for boarding. I had taken my dogs here before for daycare and the first couple times were tough, but only because my dogs weren’t used to being around so many dogs. However, after boarding them here for 3 weeks they didn’t even want to come home with me! They cried during the whole ride home and I could tell that they were sad to leave Simply Paws. The staff was super sweet to send me photos and videos via Facebook and the dogs even went home with free sweaters and treats. I couldn’t be happier with how my dogs were treated and I will be using them for any services from now on. Prices are also reasonable and they have nice sales here and there which is nice because taking care of our pets can really add up. Thank you Simply Paws for being such a great place for our pets!!!

I just discovered this place recently and I really love it. The staff is awesome, very friendly and helpful. I met a wonderful Great Dane there named Emeris (?) that they care for there. I was excited to run into him since I have raised 5 Great Danes of my own throughout my life and absolutely adore them. I will soon be getting my sixth one! I spoke with the owner about Emeris and then also the store workers for a awhile. The workers there all really seemed to love the animals and you could tell that they took very good care of them! It was a nice visit.

It’s been over 3 years since we started to take our dog to their grooming service, and also buying dog and cat food from them. Very knowledge staff, always kind and I am very happy to have a local shop where I can get everything we need.
Also I like that they give 10% off when you pre book your grooming appointment :)
For some products, like the dog food we get, they have a frequent buyer card and every 10^th bag is free!

This rating is for obedience training and boarding. I have a 9 month old doberman pinscher that has been attending obedience training with Tracy. Tracy is an amazing trainer who really takes the time to listen and give you pointers on how to train your dog using positive reinforcement. She help with the different options of training collars and I went with the training harness which seems to be very effective with my dog. We have completed our 3^rd class of 6 and my dog is so smart. I also used them for boarding when we planned a last minute mini vacation. They were so accomodating. I dropped her off at 6am on a Saturday which isnt their normal time but they came in early to take my dog in. So happy with there awesome service!

I never write reviews but this establishment deserves one. I was waiting patiently in line to pay for my $ 70 bag of dog food.
Out of no where this brunette employee brings a bag of dog food hands it to a redhead balding cashier and they proceed to ring the other customer up. The cashier was not man enough to look me in the eyes and say anything.
Perhaps it was the color of my skin… would give this place zero stars if there were an option
Jim, I find it offensive that you are deflecting your employees poor customer service back to me.
The older lady was sweet and mentioned that I was in line first. Your employees did not acknowledge that and pretended that I wasn’t there. Could they not have asked me if it was OK if the older lady went first? Did they apologize after the fact? NO they were cowards that couldn’t even look at me.
The girl who was on the phone who helped me was nice.

Instead of using the older lady as an excuse for the lack of customer service that your employees showed, why don’t you actually do something to prevent issues like this going forward.
Needless to say I will never come back and NEVER refer people to your store again. Mudbay in Federal Way had much better customer service.

I’m so sad to give them a 3. I really wanted to get my 11 month old pug groomed because he sheds like crazy. I called and asked if they could do a «blow out» (which is what Petsmart calls it). She said yes and then I asked when I could bring him in. I asked if by chance I could get him in that same day and she was able to squeeze us in. I was so excited and thankful that she got us in immediately. We arrived and already Theodore was a little nervous. (He gets very nervous around lots of people and other dogs) The lady led me back and I spoke with one of the groomers. She let us hang out for a while, showed me everything she’d be doing and where he would be staying while he dried. It couldn’t have gone better. She assured me he would be fine and not to worry. I felt so comfortable so I wasn’t worried at all. Then… when I came to get him. The girl up front was not being friendly at all (which she was the first time so I’m not sure why). I started walking back because I thought that is what you’re supposed to do to pick them up. When I got back there, this lady was talking firmly and very rude to one of the dogs. Telling them to be quiet and letting the dog know how annoying they were being. I was so beyond offended. Not to mention MY dog was still back there so for all I know it could be him. I was so upset. I picked my dog up, got in the car and he was shedding 2x as much as he was when I brought him in. Mind you the lady told me he might not like the dryer all that well so it might not do as good of a job the first time around, which I was fine with. But really, 2x as much shedding? I don’t know if I’ll return, I’m just so disappointed.

The grooming department here is the best. Kelly the grooming manager is a miracle worker. She took my super scare/combative large puppy Bolt and turned him into a relaxed cooperative dog when it comes to grooming. It took months of work on her part to gain his trust, but now its no big deal. He even runs to her when we go instead of away like he use to :) We recently moved from Federal Way to Mukilteo but will be making the drive back every month for Kelly to trim his claws. I wouldn’t trust my dog with anyone else

I scheduled my 8mo Golden for his first grooming. I explained that he’s no longer comfortable in a kennel and Kelly worked with me. She scheduled us for the first appointment and she suggested I stay to comfort him while she groomed him. It was a great experience to what would have otherwise been a stressful and likely traumatic for my puppy. She was super patient with my nervous pup.
We also went to our first training and Tracy was great. Super informative and patient.
Plus they are really convenient for us. Just 5 minutes away!

I brought my shih tzu in for his first groom and had a really great experience. All of the grooming staff was really friendly. Kim cut my dog’s hair. I told her exactly what I wanted, showed her a picture, and the result was exactly what I wanted. My dog looked happy, smelled great, and walked out with a wagging tail. –5 stars for the grooming experience.
The store front is neat. I didn’t end up buying anything, but they had Seahawks pet jerseys which was awesome! They didn’t have random animals running around. I saw the staff was cleaning up the tubs they use to wash the animals too. Would definitely recommend this grooming shop to someone else.

After reading some of these «bad» reviews I am surprised. First, my sister has 2 large dogs that she took to daycare on several occasions (no other doggie daycare would take them) They (the dogs) LOVED it and so did my sister, I on the other hand have never used the daycare but have used all other services from purchasing my very picky Cotons dog food (Ziwi Peak) to the self bathing for my brothers 2 large dogs. The first time my husband and I used the self bathing we had a terrible time getting Sadie into the tub (heavy and scared) The help there could not of been nicer and more helpful they helped us lift her in the tub and gave us tips on bathing her! it made for Sadie not being scared to go back, which we have several times. Kelly, a groomer is the ONLY ONE the dogs will let cut their VERY hard nails. I also read people thought they were more expensive than others… all I can say is «YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR» I have «shopped» for groomers for my Coton and Maltese and Simply PAWS is SIMPLY THE BEST! would use them every month if I did not live in Port Angeles where I pay more. Added note: What BLEACH smell, you must of been in after they cleaned never have smelled an offensive smells there ever!

I boarded my Siberian Husky at Simply Paws for a week and the care was excellent
When they checked him in they went over his medications, feeding requirements, made sure they had numbers for where I was going to be and my vet in case of an emergency.
When I picked him up I was given a report on how he had done. He had a blast in day care every day with a new best bud a chocolate lab’!
I’ve since taken him back to daycare several times and he’s always been really excited to go in. The staff are friendly and caring towards the dogs. I would definitely recommend Simply Paws to other pet owners.

Not impressed at all. I recently moved back to my house in Redondo Beach and was recommend to go to Simply Paws for boarding. The people that work at the facility do not seem like animal lovers. The girls at the front counter didn’t seem too bright and I wasn’t too comfortable leaving my dog, but had no other choice. My dog did not want to go into the play area so the guy working that day drug my dog on the leash by his neck. I couldn’t believe it! The facility is large which is nice, but you don’t have a good feeling that your animal will be cared for while you are away. Hopefully I will be able to find another facility in the area.

Not impressed at all.
I work as a veterinary nurse, and I stopped at Simply Paws to pick up some cat food.
Having never been there before, I asked the girl behind the counter if they carried the particular brand I was looking for, and I got a half-ass shrug of the shoulders and a point in the general direction of the cat food. Eventually I did find what I was looking for, and was on my way.
I mentioned my experience to a co-worker, who told me of her similar situation when she went to Simply Paws for dog food. Random shrugs and stupid looks seem to be the norm here, along with employees who think it is funny to mock clientele without bothering to look and see if there are still customers in the store. (They had proceeded to rip on my co-worker for asking about a certain brand of dog kibble.)
Needless to say, she left without purchasing anything.
Just a suggestion, but if you are in a customer service field, you might want to be a little more in tune with your job. We no longer reccommend Simply Paws to our clients as they can certainly receive better treatment at other pet affiliated businesses.

This review is not in regards to grooming as I haven’t used the service before, but for training, daycare, and the general store.
I got my first puppy back in February, a 3 month old Great Dane named Artemis. Great Danes are gentle giants, but are gangly, wacky puppies. I was on the hunt for a good, affordable trainer which is hard to come by. A friend recommended the training at Simply Paws, so I called them up for a consult.
The two in charge of training, Jim and Tracy, are absolutely phenomenal. They came to my house to meet Artemis and get familiar with her and got me enrolled in their classes. Artemis and I showed up at Simply Paws every Sunday for 6 weeks, and she couldn’t have been happier! She loved the puppy play time at the beginning, and she adored Jim and Tracy. Every week she hopped out of the car tail a waggin’ and passed out from content exhaustion on the way home. Their training techniques were exactly what we needed, and now as a 9 month old puppy we get tons of compliments on how well behaved Artemis is.
Jim and Tracy know and love dogs. They have several dogs of their own and give the best advice when it comes to behavior, fun tricks, the proper food and grooming, and when to seek veterinary care. Jim also works with the daycare and is a joy. I’ve never seen this many dogs WANT to go to doggie daycare and leave happy.
I will never trust anyone else with Artemis. They understand giant breed dogs and don’t treat Artemis like she’s some scary monster just because of her size. They adore her and treat her like one of their own, which is exactly what you should look for when it comes to the care of your pet.
The store is also wonderful! It’s clean, well-stocked, well-lit, and the staff are both knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve found some great all-natural treats here, a variety of training harnesses, and more food choices than you could dream of.
I also like to see that the owner personally responds to many of the other review here. It shows dedication and commitment to the customer, the sort of thing more businesses need!

Just picked my puppy that I boarded with Simply Paws today. I will start off by saying that I will never visit this store or daycare again.
1) I dropped off Maggie (8mos AKK) Friday morning, I got a phone call from SP when their day care closed because no one picked up Maggie, they were confirming Maggie was mine that I dropped off and asked pretty basic questions about my stay (how long, when Im picking her up) — Later to find out, they did not give me the proper paperwork to fill out and had little record of her being there or the reservation I had made in advance.
2) Picked her up today, the woman told me she jumped the wall of her «bedroom» area. I told them she would jump that wall and requested a room with a top to prevent this. So at some point in the night/morning she jumped out of her crate/bedroom area and was stuck outside the crate without her food/water, and bed.
3) Lets talk about food. I left her there for 3 days and 2 nights. I gave them 5 servings of food to feed her (individually bagged). They fed her one time. I checked their website to see if they used their own food to feed, but they charge extra for that and I was charged no extra fee. So in the end, after 3 days she was fed half a days worth of food.
4) The woman tells me that all the issues are the fault of new people. As a customer, I don’t need to hear that. I need to hear they are so sorry for everything that happened. Unfortunately, I paid first and tipped, then found out all of the above. I very much wish that I could take it back.
In the end, this whole thing put a bad taste in my mouth. Lack of organization within their store and lack of ownership of the problem. All I heard were excuses and no apologies for the trouble.

We have taken our three girls there now for over a year and love this place. The people there are kind and loving to them, the girls are overly excited to go and sometimes, do not want to leave. We have left them for 10 days when gone on a trip and they have been well cared for and when left during the week, come home tired from playing and romping with the other dogs in the daycare. The groomers have done a great job with my shih tzu and they always fit us in when we need them to be done. I am surprised to see so many criticisms below and believe that sometimes, people just need to be critical about things. I recommend this place to others and highly believe it to be a great establishment.

I love taking my dog to daycare here and I know my dog loves it too. She always jumps out of the car with her tail wagging. I also use their self wash and I think it is a great.
I love that the employees don’t look at me weird because I come in with my sweet little pit bull like at other pet stores/groomers.

I adopted an adult cat, first pet in my adult life, and had really no idea what he needed. Simply Paws explained what services other cat owners use which was helpful. I explained be needed a nail trim and they did an excellent job, no appointment required. So happy we took our kitty there.

First off I’d like to say the only reason this store is getting 2 stars is because the bleach smell was so strong my husband and I got sick. With that heavy of an odor I know it’s not a healthy environment.
I didn’t get to look around as much as I would have on a normal basis. But from what I saw, this shop was stocked and I would love to spend time browsing and spending too much money on things I don’t need, but know it’ll make my guys happy. The two main brands of feed I went for were Taste of the Wild cat food, and Oxbow Cavey Cuisine. I could go to mud bay and get the cat food and order online for the piggy food, but I much rather go into a store and pick them up from people who don’t talk to their customers like they’re dullards. I was very satisfied with the customer service and would give the store a easy 4 – 5 stars. The bleach smell was so heavy in the air that I choked and it hurt to breath. If they could use something less harsh I would definitely be a regular.

Simply Paws is a fantastic pet store that is also a daycare as well as a place for boarding your beloved pet. We needed a spring break vacation and unfortunately could not bring our dog on the cruise so we decided to try this place out for boarding for the week. I was a bit apprehensive at first like any parent leaving their child for summer camp but after calling the first few days and them letting us know he was doing fantastic, I definitely had more trust in the caretakers who work there. They also have a facebook page they keep updated and take pics of the dogs there and our dog looked as happy as can be. For boarding, they have large kennels available for your dog to stay overnight and all required is their food, toys, blanket or clothing from home to make them feel comfortable and less anxious, and updated immunizations. During the day they play in the playroom with the other dogs who are boarded or are in daycare, and get a 15 minute one on one walk daily. And when you pick them up, they actually take notes each day on how your dog is doing and review it with you. Luckily, it was all positive notes for ours. Plus points for also promoting very organic grain free products and having other services to include washes and nail trimmings. There’s also an event coming up with a photographer (company is Animal Planet, local I presume and not the actual network) that takes professional photos of your loved one which we signed up for.
Negative reviews here are mainly personal experiences with the self serve wash, but overall the positive ones far outweigh these and Simply Paws definitely gets 5 stars!
The staff is very professional and extremely friendly, and they do take care of your pets as if they were their own.
Check Living Social as sometimes they have discounts for daycare, otherwise, it’s I think 25 bucks for a full day.
