Ocean Sushi & Grill

I have been here twice for the buffer. The quality of food makes me not respect myself for eating it. Sushi made out of cheap ingredients. The only positive is a lot of raw salmon and tuna that you can eat by itself — or with rice. The interior is quite nice and if you have a friend who can eat 4 pounds of sea food without being picky — then it should work for you.

CLOSED — at the end it was great — lots of selection and they gladly made to order anything you wanted. Liked Japanese Main (the replacement) for lunch (see review) but went back for dinner and it was a different story…

Overpriced and lower than mediocre sushi.
They tried to be creative with the sushi, but it backfire.
peanut butter avacodo and rice is just totally wrong. First time i been to a kaiten sushi that charge $ 1.25 for tea. No refill i don’t think cuz the waitress didn’t come around afterward to check. sashimi was gross, it taste as though it been soak in water cuz the texture is like jello to me.
Service = ok (at least they weren’t rude)
sushi = bad (not creative and definately not authentic at all)
sashimi = very bad (for reason above)
Hot food = not sure, didn’t try any
Atmosphere = nice décor and very spacious
Price = $$$$ totally not worth it

I love this place! I have been there MANY times (at least once a week). I do have to agree that the «hot» food on the conveyer belt is cold… but you can order it fresh… and then it ROCKS! The staff may not speak english fluently but it does not affect them being able to assit you and they have a great attitude. My daughter (11) loves it too… and she is not a big fan of restaurant sushi, she prefers we make it at home. It is always clean. They also have a happy hour from 2:30PM-5PM everyday… you get 20% off all your food!
I say… give them a try… order the food from the menu or check sheet they give you :)

So I’ve been to this place two times. One too many times I must say.
The first time I went there I really liked the atmosphere. It’s very modern, but then again confusing. Some of there decorations are like WOOO off. HAHA. The staff doesn’t speak good English AT ALL. Very unprofessional. The sushi was delish! The raw fish there is very fresh; but the dishes lacked creativity. And it’s tooo over priced.
The second time, was horrible. The service, was SO bad I couldn’t enjoy my sushi! I was pissed. The lady forgot one of our table settings. She kept disappearing. Our food was ready, it’s just that SHE WASN’T. When there was only 3 groups of people in that huge place. They don’t know how to even out the condiments in the sushi. They didn’t wrap it correctly so everything wasn’t tightly in there. And at the end of it, the out waitriss demanded a tip?! HA! She said it was mandatory when that wasn’t the case when we first went there. My friend replied, «what if our serivce wasn’t good?» HAHA. She had no responce. But we gave her a tip that she DIDN’T DESERVE. & As I left the only thing I could say was, I’m NEVER coming here EVER again.
Absolutely pathetic.
If you want good sushi, GREAT service for a good price I recomend my federal way favorite, Blue Island Sushi and Roll

There’s so many things to say about this place and I’ve only been there twice with the restaurant opening only a week ago?!
First off, I went there at night with my friends I think an hour before it was closing and there were only three other groups at the restaurant? Was it just me or was it NOT crowded? I didn’t really understand the menu at first. They didn’t have dollar signs next to their price so I thought that’s how many pieces you received or something. I don’t know. It was so much different than Blue Island.
Second off, the moving trolley wasn’t. impressing. The first time I was there, the sushi didn’t seem fresh so I didn’t get anything from there. I ordered from the menu and got It was bi salmon rolls. The salmon was actually pretttty good probably because it was made to order but it did take a while for the food to come. There wasn’t alot of options for the trolley either. I felt like I was looking at the same thing over and over again. They didn’t even have a menu showing what each roll was .
But, I do admit the second time I went there was a bit different. The food seemed more fresh and there were more people there. It ‘s a good thing they’re opened from 11 AM to 10 PM Monday-​Thursday unlike Blue Island.
Last but not least, they’re service. is amateur at best. I had the same waiter both times and he came around less than once in a while. He seemed nervous. It was a little weird. I paid with my debit card both times and the first time, I was with my friends and we had separate bills. When the cashier rung my stuff up, she rung up my friend’s stuff also! So I paid 10 more dollars than I should have. She ended up giving me $ 10 back but that still doesn’t replace her horrible mistake. Ughh. Hopefully, this place will be better in the future.
I give the food a 4 but everything else a 2 so that’s why I gave it a three in all.

I went here a day after the ribbon cutting ceremony for their Grand Opening, and we weren’t too impressed. Maybe it was because it was so new. But we decided to get our food from the moving trolley and were GREATLY dissapointed when all the foods that were supposed to be hot were freezing cold. I do give their sashimi a five start though.
Perhaps if we ordered from the menu the food would have been better???
However, it did take them awhile to get our drink orders, and after we were finished, it took them even longer to give us back our credit card. My boyfriend even had to ask them and they didn’t quite know what was going on.
Considering that this place is so new though, I’m always willing to go back once they’re better established. So who knows, maybe later on down the road, the STAR RATING might… just might… be bumped up.
