I’ve bought a rifle and a pistol from here and so far the transactions have been typical. You go in, you find what you like, do the paperwork, pay the man, and leave with your firearm. No they are not the friendliest sales people but like other gun stores I’ve been to, none of them really are lol. Think about it, they gotta deal with looky loo’s and people that hold hand guns sideways(gangsta style). I am also an emerald member at the gun range. Six free guest passes, unlimited hand gun rentals, eyes and ears if you need it, shoot high caliber rifle up to 7.62, discounts on ammo and some other stuff(see website). I go in, shoot, and I go home. That’s worthy of 4 stars right there. If you are looking for a place to go and buy a firearm and shoot in the Federal Way area this would be the place to go. Just don’t be sensitive if they don’t ask you how your day is going.

The range facility is okay, and they have a great selection of rental guns. The staff is generally crap, though. Not well particularly knowledgable in guns(watched a guy try to sell .22WM to someone who needed .22LR today), and not very friendly unless you’re spending money. What really got me to write this review, though, is now they have petitions out on the sales counters calling for laws to allow discrimination based on gender identity. Maybe that will fly with the conservative christian crowd, but me and my friends aren’t ever buying anything from there again.

Seems like they have fair pricing on many of their products. I’m just not thrilled with some of their policies. Today I looked at a few of their 9 mm pistols and was told to limit my dry fire to only one trigger pull. This is not acceptable to me because I’ve found differences between triggers of the same model of firearm and one pull is simply not enough. I wound understand that it would be a problem if I was dry firing a pistol dozens of times, but I wasn’t. Plus they were polymer striker fired pistols that I was interested in. I’ve never had problems in the past at any other stores I’ve purchased firearms at so it was definitely surprising.

Great gun prices. At times its a bit too busy for me but I think they do the best they can as a growing business. Hoping they can get a better customer service in place soon. We will see. I’m pulling for them since I live so close. Worth checking out if your shopping around.

I have been coming here for a while taken 3 classes and they were great so thought i should get a membership so i pay and come in to use the range wait in line and another person jumps in line and 2 after me and they bring her to the front and i ask why and as loud as they can say i have a basic membership and hers a better one so i have to wait. They were so rude and unprofessional. I am canceling my membership and will not even return for classes!

Great shop and range. Offers Free ladies to shoot on Tuesdays or Free gun rentals on Wednesday. This range helped me decide on my first pistol. Lots of options. The shop is just as awesome. Everyone is extremely helpful and always willing to give you advise based on your needs.

Great prices on guns and ammo, but horrible customer service. I’m consistently ignored, talked sarcastically to because I am little new at guns, and I often notice employees are rude to the new and less-knowledgable employees. It’s annoying seeing an employee treat their co-worker like jerks. I hate seeing it. I bought my gun here because the prices are great, and the shooting range is good quality. I will keep shopping here, but I wish I could see an improved customer service.

[Note: This review is for the gun range only, which is serviced by the counter right as you walk in the front door, and mainly targeted at first-time visitors. Skim through and skip to the end if you’ve been to ranges before.] I would estimate that there are only a few things in a spy’s repertoire that are harder to do than shooting a firearm accurately and quickly: disarming the XVC-6975 thermonuclear primary stage trigger, back-flips, jumping spinning back kicks, seduuuuucing the laaaadies, tailing(vs. tailgating), counter-intelligence, intelligence, keeping secrets … okay, maybe I’ve seriously underestimated all the skills that’s needed for a spy’s repertoire. It’s never too late to at least check off one of those things on the list, so I made it my mission(my SECRET mission – see what I did there?) to go to the range at Federal Way Discount Gun & Indoor Range and shoot off a few rounds. You know, just to hone my marksmanship skills with [air quotes] real [/air quotes] firearms instead of the NERF blaster I keep under my pillow«just in case»(BTW, wiffle ball bats are much more effective in close-quarter engagements, especially against rogue spiders). For some reason, I was intimidated when I walked in for my visit to Federal Way Discount Gun & Indoor Range. Firearms are no joke, and not everyone is 50 Cent. Of course, I was probably intimidated because this was my first time visiting a range where I was not accompanied by a friend or my babysitter. But hey, my pain is your gain and the following should provide those of you who have never visited their range(or a range at all) with their procedures and what to expect: 1. Sign-up: You need to inform the folks at the gun counter that you wish to rent a lane and that you’ve never visited before, and provide them with your ID. In return, you’ll be handed a couple of forms to fill out to become a member, as well as a copy of the range rules with which you must abide and sign to acknowledge receipt. On subsequent visits you just need to provide them with your ID. The basic membership is free(which basically means anyone may become a member), so you just have to pay the range rental fees(see pictures). A second person(your«guest») on the same lane pays $ 5 less. Ladies, Tuesdays are free range days for you so you know I will see you there(I’ll be the«gal» in the blond wig and muu-muu). 2. Equipment: If you’re renting guns, you’ll need to let them know what you want out of their case. Rentals for the same caliber(e.g., 9 mm, 22LR, etc.) are unlimited for the same fee(see picture). So, for example, you can try out all their 9mm’s for the one rental fee. You have to purchase ammo from them if you rent their firearms, but their ammo prices are fairly reasonable. I went through three(3) boxes of fifty(50) on my visit between three(3) people, and they are okay if you just buy a single box to start and come back out to buy additional boxes. In retrospect I would recommend buying more than one box because unless you’re absolutely unsure about the sport you’re going to go through a box pretty fast. A bonus is that they provide both safety glasses and hearing protection for free if you’re not ready to buy – I guess I liken this to renting shoes at the bowling alley, except here it’s free. 3. Target: The only other thing that’s left is choosing the target(s) you want, and pay for everything(range rental, gun rental, ammo, and targets). As with the boxes of ammo, it’s best if you buy a couple. I only bought a single target initially because I thought: «Hey, I’m only going to put a single hole in it anyway.» Let’s just say I probably should bring a roll of butcher paper next time. Yes, you can bring your own targets as long as you don’t put a picture of the president on it(i.e., don’t do anythings stupid). 4. Once you pay, they will assign you a lane and you’re free to stay as long as you want. As I’ve only been to outdoor ranges(during summer!) I have nothing against which to compare my visit with regards to indoor ranges. However, the facilities seemed clean, up-to-date, and the air re-circulation system worked really well. Visit, read all the signs and especially the range rules, and ask questions about anything you don’t understand. To be honest, I’d highly recommend taking a Basic Firearms Training course. Federal Way does have quite a selection of firearms. However, they didn’t have a couple of the 9 mm semiautomatics I’m trying to select as my concealed carry(including the Walther PPS). Another minor annoyance is that the gun range counter folks can be VERY busy sometimes, what with people wanting to change out firearms, buying ammo and/or targets(you can bring your own targets!), signing in/up, etc. It doesn’t take many people to overwhelm the two people behind the shooting range counter, though I will say they diligently work through the crowd eventually even if they don’t seem to be in a rush.

A friend of ours told us about this place and how he favored it to some of the others so we decided to give it a try. Walking in, the place was packed and we made our way to the rear of the building and got in a line as my husband was in the market for a holster, preferably an inside the waistband holster, unfortunately they were out. The service was efficient and friendly but inventory seemed low as I heard other customers needs were out of stock at the time too? We walked to get some range time too and the gentleman told us that we needed head back up front and talk to the counter up there to get checked in. After filling out all the paperwork and selecting which piece I wanted to try first we headed to the range. Walking in I would have to say it was nicer than the others I have been too, insulated well and heated too! Being the time of the year it is, this was great! The range was spaced well and didn’t feel overly crowded and we got some good time in. The rates were comparable, they do require you to use buy and use their ammo. Overall this is one of the better gun ranges I have been too as far as service, customer service that is, meh, I’ve had better but that’s mostly in part because a woman worked the counter which I did not see 1 that worked here. Gun shops/ranges tend to not be the friendliest folks in my opinion so I don’t use that as judgement in rating these types of businesses.

Arrogance free staff. Sofar I have only delt with 2 employees and it maybe good luck but I think MY attitude helps. The DO have the best new gun prices in the area and the nicest range. I walked in knew exactly what I wanted(R LCP) and was waited on almost instantly I think I would have been shooting in less than 30 minutes if not for the long line at the range. It was black saturday and they were swamped. But I bought my gun and got background check’d in about 20 minutes without any bad attitude.

If you are looking to purchase a firearm I would highly recommend FWDG. They have a wide selection of firearms and accessories, with the lowest prices in town. The entire staff is outstanding, knowledgeable and quite friendly. I have been to just about every gun store in the region, and would have to say FWDG is head and shoulders above the rest.

For years it bugged me I shot to my left. This was the 1st range that actually had some knowledge about what was wrong. Turns out I just needed tape. I will be returning. And I’m glad I never read the reviews beforehand. The staff was nice, patient, informative. I actually drove by accidentally, and i’m glad I did.

Bought a high end scope and mount from Federal Way Discount Guns & Indoor Range recently. Spent over $ 2,500 for the Leupold Mark 61 – 6 optic and Leupold Mark 6 Integral Mounting System(IMS) to match an equally high end rifle. It took me a few weeks to get to mounting the Leupold Mark 61 – 6 scope and the Leupold Mark 6 Integral Mounting System(IMS) due to travel and work scheduling. On initially setting the scope mount I discovered the Leupold Mark 6 Integral Mounting System(IMS) mount had been used before! The prior owner had used a large screw driver on the mount screw and tightened it to the point the driver came out and mashed the screw and scratched up the finish. Granted this is a small blemish and hopefully there is no additional damage discovered as I mount and test the scope. At $ 220+ for a mount I expect a NEW scope mount not a used product. I contacted Federal Way Discount Guns & Indoor Range and they refused to take responsibility for A. Repackaging a used product without inspecting it, B. Selling it as new, C. Refusing to rectify the problem in any way, D. Having a return policy that leaves customers with no recourse except a bad review. 14 days return on an item is ridiculous when you have repackaged and been found out selling returned Leupold Scope mount without at least inspecting it before putting it back on a shelf. BUYERBEWARE. Double check anything you buy here, especially if it is not in original sealed packaging. I personally would disassemble and inspect any firearm or other mechanical device bought from this store. The scope is not a problem since it came directly from the factory as a product Federal Way Discount Guns & Indoor Range does not normally carry. 4 Stars for a good price, 3 for decent service on the purchase, 1 star for return policy and the«I can’t»(don’t BS me it is «I won’t») attitude when the damaged, repackaged, product was discovered.

Simply put, the service is unacceptable. The managers are the worst offenders, so there’s no remedying the situation. They’re rude in person, and rude over the phone; I’ve been scoffed at and ignored in person, and shouted at and hung up on over the phone. To top it all off, they hardly know what they’re talking about regarding the guns they sell, and know even less regarding firearms at large. I will never be visiting again, nor will I ever recommend them. I encourage everyone, especially first-time buyers, to steer clear.

In addition to great prices and selection they have outstanding customer service and very knowledgeable and helpful personnel. Their shooting range is well equipped, lighted and ventilated, also no «range Nazis» breathing down your neck. I took my 13 y.o. nephew for shooting pistols and we had a great time there. I highly recommend this place to all firearms’ enthusiasts.

Worse customer service I have every seen. I called them, and whomever answered the phone put me on hold and start using profanity towards a customer or co-worker. His answer to my question was: why do you want to know. This is the second time I called them about a gun question, and both times they had serious customer service flaws– worse of the worse!!! Struck out! They should be shut down! Can’t believe people are giving them anything above 1 star! WOW!!!

This gun shop is freaking awesome! First and foremost is the very competitive price on firearms, ammo, and range fees. Very good prices. They ain’t trying to rob you blind. So score if you’re looking for some of the best deals. Selection is quite good. I’ve been looking at their rifles and pistols(not sure on shotgun selection) for a while. The choices are plenty. I felt I purchased a rifle(AK47) from them for an excellent price. Another score on actual purchasing experience. The more I shoot at this range, the more I like it. I needed a local place to shoot and purchased a membership here. I’ve been a regular here for a while. Now it’s solidified. If you need guns, ammo or a place to shoot, do yourself a favor and check out this gem of a gunshop/range in Federal Way.

Great prices, and selection! BUT Closing at 6pm makes it really hard to get to while it’s open if you work a day job, it’s basically impossible, and closed on Sunday. SO they aren’t open evenings OR one of the second busiest retail day of the week. Saturday’s are SLAMMED busy usually resulting in waiting to be helped. All that said great prices so I deal with it. Rt now I want bullets, they are closed and Dicks across the street is open.
