The service and the food is awful. Went here yesterday and service was a disaster. Order gin and tonic from the bar and tonic was flat. Didn’t offer to make it right.

I had the opportunity to try the Sunday brunch and I was not disappointed. The brunch items included food that would appeal to just about anyone. They offered crab legs and other seafood; breakfast items, a carving and omelette station and a dessert bar. At $ 25 a person, the Hilltop House will leave you satisfied. The staff and servers were pleasant to add to the lovely experience. Definitely try this hidden gem!

Went for Valentine’s Day in 2015 and again this year. Last year was great, this year was terrible. Had a 5 o’clock reservation, didn’t receive out appetizer until 5:45. Didn’t receive our main course until 6:20. Wife’s filet was undercooked and her sides were literally cold. Waited 15 minutes after completion of our meals to be asked if we wanted desert, which we declined. We didn’t end up getting out of there until 7. There were plenty of empty tables on the way out, not sure why everything was so off. Probably won’t go back.

Nice ambiance being that’s it’s set in an old home. The service was great, very attentive. I thought the Sunday brunch was average, nothing wowed me like any other buffet. I just didn’t think the food quality was worth the money. It was a nice experience and worth doing once.

Let me preface this review by saying that their Sunday buffet is not bad. However, dinner is another story. I knew there was a problem when we pulled in and there were only three cars in the parking lot. We had requested a private table instead of the main dining room because I had heard that was where the ambiance was. When we entered, we were told that all the dining rooms, except the main one, were closed. Our server was nice enough, but really didn’t know much. He didn’t know what vodkas they serve and couldn’t even tell me if there were splits of champagne available(and it was New Years Eve). The appetizers didn’t even temp me(and I’m NOT picky) so we ordered steaks and each started with a salad. The salads were ok, although my husband Caesar salad was missing the croutons(one of only four ingredients!) and my «vinaigrette» tasted like pure balsamic vinegar(which I had poured all of my salad). Our filet &NY strip strip steak were both cooked medium well, although we had both asked for medium. It was the least tender and least flavorful filet I have ever had. I have tasted better from my local grocery store! My husband said his was not great. To top it off, our steaks were served with instant mashed potatoes. That was a first! We didn’t eat more than a bite of them and left at least half the steaks on our plate. Yet the server never asked us how our food was. He asked if we wanted dessert, but didn’t both clearing out plates. We asked for the check and left immediately. Not once did I see a manager or supervisor, otherwise i would have spoken to them about our experience. $ 30 steaks should taste good and come with a decent side(not instant potatoes). I have never felt more of a waste of $ 100 on a sub-par meal. And to be clear, I even messaged the restaurant to see about what was going on, but they never got back to me. Big waste of time & money! Don’t bother with this place unless it’s Sunday brunch, and even then, beware and don’t expect too much!

Food was good as always. Although our service for party of 16 that we made well in advance was surprisingly bad. Arrived early and ordered drinks before rest of party arrived and didn’t get them for an hour. Our waiter was new and I understand that struggle but someone should have stepped in and helped after we politely asked for drinks and menus. When we asked what kind of beer they had he said they had every beer he thought and shrugged his shoulders. Hilltop has always been a treat for us but after the poor service and rudeness when we asked for help we will look elsewhere for larger party gatherings. When you come there you expect a certain service. That is a given. Hoping it was an off night.

The service is what saved this restaurant from lower stars. I ordered the herb crusted salmon, asparagus and truffle smashed potatoes, my husband got the steak with fingerling potatoes. My salmon was overcooked and bland, the asparagus was good, and the potatoes were lukewarm and quite frankly disgusting. My husband’s steak was overcooked, but his potatoes were delicious. The potato soup and bread was good, but for the price and experience, I am wholly underwhelmed. I won’t be back here.

Mandatory 20% gratuity for a mediocre(at best) BUFFET??? I didn’t realize a drink refill was worth $ 10. Thanks but no thanks.

The food is good, but the pricing structure is a joke for what they’re offering. I’ve done Sunday brunch and I’ve done lunch. For regular lunch, the price is WAYYYYYYYY too high. The price is laughably high. For Sunday brunch, the $ 23 price is fantastic IF you are a big eater. If you are the type of person who can put away a good amount of food, the Sunday brunch is probably worth it. Otherwise, all I can say is I wish I carried a purse big enough to sneak out a few pieces of fried chicken at Sunday brunch, because as someone who doesn’t eat a whole ton of food, it felt overpriced. The food is delicious, but people in the area hype it up too much. Not worth the price.

Excellent service! I am vegetarian so I had the strawberry salad without the bacon. It was the best salad I have ever had. It was so fresh and tasty and they make the strawberry dressing in house! My friends said that the steak was very tender and all of the appetizers were wonderful. It was a great experience and I will definitely be returning the next time I am in town!

Way to pricey for food not that all good and a joke for large amount of guests for a function when you can book a bunch of table for absolutely Nothing down in Downtown Fayetteville 4 star Restaurants.

I’ve had two lunches and two dinners here. I really want to like it. The atmosphere is great. It’s one of the few restaurants in Fayetteville that doesn’t feel like it’s in Fayetteville. The food is just OK, though. And for«just OK» food, I can’t justify paying as much as Hilltop House charges.

Definitely not worth the hype. Billed as one of the best restaurants in Fayetteville, the Hilltop House did not live up to its reputation. It was so quiet during dinner, that could hear every crunch and chew of the guy in his post-gym attire sitting adjacent to me. Some light background music would have helped. This restaurant has plenty of seating, but on this particular Saturday night, there were only a few couples dining while I was there. The food was not remarkable and the service was average. We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner, but the wait staff barely checked on us and the bottle was empty for most of the meal. The Crème brûlée was very good and the highlight of the dinner.

The ambiance was fabulous, you would not imagine that a house could be this warm and romantic for our anniversary. Food very good, the service was slow but we found out that we had a new waitress. After we talk to the waitress and the cook and explained that it is our anniversary and the baguette was so hard, they brought us a new one and a dessert to make up for our trouble.

We ate at Hilltop for brunch a few Sundays ago. I did use the«OpenTable» reservation via the Unilocal app — kind of neat. We arrived about 30 minutes before the end of brunch. The selection was quite picked over and some of the dishes empty. This is to be anticipated at the end of a service, but not really appreciated given the cost of the brunch. Yes, I am «frugal», but damn — there shouldn’t be a lot of empty dishes when you are paying that price per person. The food is covered, but you can’t see the items to know what it is and only a few were labeled. I didn’t like lifting up the lids to see what was in each one. That kind of defeats the purpose of covering the food. The food area was super cramped — given the configuration of this old house, I am not sure how to streamline it, but I don’t like having to try to look(made worse by the lids you can’t see thru) at the food w/a bunch of other people. There was a peculiar guy making the waffles and omelets. I love waffles and my friend enjoyed the omelet bar, but I wouldn’t even walk back to that area again because the guy was so weird. I am not a sensitive-type chick, but the guy asked, «what can I get you little lady?» Uh, for real? I am 35 years old and I DOUBT many people who I come across in person would refer to me as «little lady». If my 6 year old nephew walked up, it would be cool if he called him«little guy», but a grown woman… okay. If you like seafood, it would likely be a better value. I don’t, so I ate waffles, eggs and some sausage. I can hit up Shoney’s for 1⁄3 as much. You are definitely paying for the«ambiance» which I give two $hits about, so really not for me. I would return, but I wouldn’t be the one suggesting it.

Good for brunch terrible for dinner($ 100+). Brunch has a huge selection of freshly-made food. Dinner, on the other hand, has such high prices that we had half the place to ourselves on a weekend night. The for was terrible and service was amateur at best.

Best brunch spot in Fayetteville. I’ll write a negative Unilocal review in a second, so it pains me to give out five stars, but this place really is that good. Food is amazing, all you can eat buffet. I have yet to try something on the buffet that isn’t delicious. The buffet has everything from crab legs to fried chicken, eggs Benedict to cup cakes, the variety is huge. Unfortunately the Bottomless mimosas are weak(like very weak), however they are great about keeping your glass filled. Everyone is pretty dressed up from church, nothing too fancy but the attire is not casual. Great management, one time they gave me a $ 20 gift card after I was seated next to an obnoxiously loud table. Be sure to come here when you’re starving so you can enjoy as much of the buffet as possible. I will continue to get drunk her at Sunday brunch.

I’ll keep this review simple and short. This place has a great selection for brunch and the quality of the food was great, the reason it got 3 stars is because of the waitress I got. Not sure how they do brunch in Fayetteville but in Germany they do not ask if you are ready for your check 20 minutes into the show and deft do not keep asking every 15. I felt like they where trying to push us out before we even got our 2nd plate and I found that to be very annoying on top of that they seem to believe they can add on 20% gratitude to the check without asking or requesting. Even though the food was good the service and environment will be enough to keep me from coming back.

I went to their Sunday brunch because of all the recommendations, but I forget we are in the south…(Debatable) and the unlimited mimosas and sangria starts at noon. The food: what can you expect from a buffet outside of Vegas? The shrimp and grits were my favorite but with many of their dishes, I was insulted at the heavy use of American cheese… Which I don’t consider real cheese. The other items, although plentiful was nothing WoW. The crab legs were thin and scraggly, shrimp cocktail was good but their cocktail sauce tasted per made, real horseradish can make a world of difference… Prime rib was good but they gave small portions so you have to keep going back. Waitstaff: very attentive. But for 20% gratuity that’s automatically put on your bill, I would hope so. Ambiance: a historic house… It’s quaint and … Homey. Spacious and a lot of separate dining areas. Overall: since they are they only place I know that does a full Sunday brunch, yes, I’ll be back… But… Grudgingly… Total price for 2. $ 50. It won’t break the bank, but for crying out loud… American cheese!!!

Do make reservations. I was taken here for my birthday and I was quite skeptical after reading some of the reviews. Okay, so the dish that made the biggest impression was the Butter Rum Cheesecake with 151 liquor! Yum! That is all…
