It’s Christmas Day and the Lotus is very crowded. In fact the manager tells us that it’s his busiest day of the year. We have no reservation, and despite the crowd we are seated promptly. Our server is very cute and welcoming. She is overwhelmed but trying very hard to keep up with her tables. The food, while very good, does not quite reach the levels of more authentic eateries. We try Cantonese, Szechwan and Japanese dishes and like everything we eat. It just doesn’t taste very exotic. Nonetheless, we have a wonderful meal and look forward to our next visit.

Amazing food and service. Our favorite is the crispy beef and general Taos chicken. It’s so good that my mom booked this restaurant for my bridal shower. They did an outstanding job on that too. It was the perfect day! Michael really knows how to run an amazing restaurant!

I used to LOVE this place but I must say that my last 2 experiences here did not live up to the past. We waited quite a long time for the food we ordered and when it arrived my friend’s meal was barely warm. She returned it and waited over 10 minutes for it to return and it was only slightly warmer. I doubt we will return.

I came here for lunch with my coworkers. It’s a nice restaurant, and I would recommend it if you come here with a group of people. I had the Chicken with Cashew Nuts and thought it was good. Portion was just the right size. Their price is reasonable and the service was also good. I would say this restaurant is more of a 3.5 stars than a 4 though.

More like 3.5 stars. Stopped in after two friends recommended. Restaurant was very clean, modern and inviting. Hostess was seating people and also taking take out orders. She was very friendly! They have tons of sushi, but I went for entrée dishes, soup and steamed pork dumplings. Prices on sushi were pretty similar to most places. Food entrees were definitely higher than most Chinese take out places. Wonton soup was delicious! Had egg strips and great small tender wontons. Broth had the right balance of salt. steamed pork dumplings were good, the dough around the meat was slightly thinner compared to most others I’ve had, but that wasn’t a bad thing. Dipping sauce tasted most of soy sauce with no other flavors/herbs. Eh Chicken with baby eggplant in garlic sauce was good and the meat to eggplant ratio was good. Very saucy, but had great flavor and a kick of heat. Shrimp thai style was good, not too may shrimp in the dish, but they were large and had lots of flavor and weren’t over cooked. Bottom line. The food was good, but not much different than your Chinese spot down the block. However the restaurant inside was lovely along with their employees. Wonton soup was delish and different.

Friends in Farmingdale turned us on to Lotus. Every dish we’ve ever ordered is super. The front to Conklin is nondiscript so if you blink, you’ll probably drive pass. When in the area and want Chinese food, this is the place to go. Ample parking in the back lot.

Place is always pristine, sushi is fresh and of good quality. I lunch and dine here regularly. Great ambiance for a business, family or romantic lunch/dinner.

Yum! Been coming here for years, and the food has been consistently delicious. The décor of the restaurant is simple but pretty. They have a bar and two televisions there. This place has the best vegetable fried rice in the area, so delicious! Another favorite of mine is the sweet potato roll. Their vegetable egg rolls are very tasty, the sauce that comes with it makes the dish. Yes, this place isn’t cheap– but I think the food is well worth the price. The downside: the staff here seems to want you in and out. It’s uncomfortable. A group of friends and I usually come around 9pm for dinner and are constantly feeling rushed. The staff will literally stand by your table and stare at you. Really makes it feel like as a customer your business is not welcome. Since this happen more than a few times I’ve been taking my food to go. If they would train their staff properly and learn to appreciate their customers and their business it would have received 5 stars.

Sadly, this used to be our go-to Chinese/Japanese place in the neighborhood, but the past two experiences were pretty bad all-around. One Pro: — The hot and sour soup was flavorful and spot-on. Excellent! The Cons: — Overview: Sticky menus, overcooked food, wrong items, rude service — Menus«says» Thai Chicken Wings, but they serve dark meat chicken nuggets with thai sauce on them — When I very politely spoke to the waiter about them, he told me that they were cut-up wings, so I explained that they were very clearly dark meat, breaking a few of them open for him — and that wing meat is white meat — The waiter only shook his head and said, no, that’s wing meat — I wasn’t even asking for a credit on the bill, but I told him he could take it away, because the dark meat and the thai chili sauce was not something I wanted to eat — He came back a while later to tell me that he spoke to the chef and that the menu item is «called» thai chicken wings, but that’s what the order is — dark meat nuggets. I suggested that they should mention that in the menu, because when someone orders wings, they expect white meat and bones — he just shook his head and said, «no, that’s thai chicken wings» — All around rude service from the two waiters who served us — Plus when our entrees came, they gave me fried rice, instead of the brown rice I’d ordered — And both the salmon teriyaki and the shrimp teriyaki in our bento boxes were very overcooked, dry and tasteless — Also, the music choices during our last two visits ranged from death metal to fall asleep at the table plinky plinky version of canon in D minor — very odd, all-around music choices for an Asian restaurant

Terrible service. Staff gangs up on you arguing when you are dissatisfied with an order that comes out not as described in the menu. Very rude, horrible people.

The ambiance and food presentation is good, place is clean, light music, relaxing atmosphere, easy parking around. Food is just a ok, Tempura I had was over cooked, I mean if I paid for that price, I would expect better. I like they swiped credit card at the table with the tablet card reader.

Great menu options friendly service the only down is pricier then the rest bust you pay for what you get! Delivery is spot on and can pay cash or credit at the door! Without giving card over the phone! Family owned and operated and friendly! This has been my go too spot for chinese food for the past three years! To give another review I work near by and the associates are extremely frugal but order from them at least 3 – 5 days a week!

The food was edible but terribly over priced and not worth the money. If you’re a Chinese rice lover, I wouldn’t recommend this place. It was dry and lacked flavor. The boneless spare ribs were good, but as I previously stated, over priced. The best thing about this place was the crunchy noodles. Those were delicious.

Food was excellent. My wife and I split a crispy beef each had our own brown rice and a Joe Roll. Stuffed!!! Excellent food with a great ambience. Only fallout is that you cannot egress onto Conklin. You have to go around the back.

I placed a delivery order today. I got the Spicy Crunch Shrimp Roll and the Shrimp with Asparagus Roll. Both were delicious and fresh. I had a side of spicy mayo too which was good. I also ordered the appetizer of chicken steamed dumplings — they were out of this world! Very happy with the food. Prices were a little steep though compared to others.

The Sushi is delicious, the Mai Tai drinks are out of this world amazing! The only wish I had was that they would hire more personable friendly and outgoing servers and hostess. The overall experience there is very good always but I think what would set them apart from other Sushi restaurants is the personality of the servers. Being a bit more upbeat and smiling would definitely attract more customers.

Food was good service was good. I had 2 issues with this restaurant. First the menu was greasy, not in just one little spot all over. Second, this being a Chinese/Japanese restaurant I ordered a Tsing Tao beer. Waiter comes back and says they have no Tsing Tao. Okay I ordered a Kirin beer. Waiter says no Kirin how about a Heineken? Ummm sure I’d love a Heineken with my sushi I’m sure that is very authentic and how the people in Japan have with sushi. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday and they were running low on clean menus and Asian beer. I’ll try it again on a different day.
