Night Night Sleep Tight

So we finally purchased our baby’s furniture from Night Night Sleep Tight. All I can say is, wow! We were completely fooled into believing they only offer high quality furniture. I admit it; I jumped the gun on my first review.
The actual purchase of the furniture was pretty painless. We bought the Munire Urban Collection furniture and a custom made rocking chair. However, when the furniture was finally delivered, every piece was broken or scratched except for the rocking chair. When I say broken, I mean chunks of wood were broken off (see the pictures I uploaded). I was home when the delivery company came to set up the furniture and watched them unbox each piece. Each box looked intact without damage. In addition, the crib mattress we ordered was on back order. Needless to say we were very disappointed.
I immediately called Nichole who seemed to blame the delivery company as they were supposed to unbox the furniture and check it out before they delivered it. She offered to have the floor models immediately delivered to replace the broken furniture. I ordered new furniture and expected new furniture. I didn’t want the floor model especially without a discount.
Nichole called me late Thursday and said the furniture would be delivered on Friday after 4 pm. I had to make arrangements quickly to ensure someone would be home for the delivery. When the second batch of furniture was delivered, I was even more disappointed. All of the furniture arrived unboxed and wrapped in moving blankets. First of all, the delivery crew was unable to figure out how to assemble the crib. I paid $ 165 to have the furniture delivered and set up. I expect them to fulfill their end of the bargain and not leave a crib spread out across the entire room in pieces. The second crib had an inch and one half crack in one of the side rails. The night stand had a crack along the entire width of the piece of wood between the drawer and top. I could not believe it. Of course the store was already closed when I discovered the issues.
The next day I went into the store and spoke to Jody. I told her I was very disappointed in the fact that we spent a lot of money for sub par furniture. I felt like I could have gotten the same quality at a chain store for probably ¹⁄₅ of what we paid. If the furniture couldn’t make it to my house in one piece, how was it to last a lifetime? I was told every piece of furniture was inspected before the delivery company left with it. Jody told me she wanted me to be happy as we were her first customers. She told me she would need to talk to her husband but they could offer me to keep the furniture but replace the broken pieces with the floor model with a 50% refund. She also told me they could also offer me a full refund but would still need to talk to her husband. I told her I would need to think about it and let her know the next day.
The following day I called the store to let them know our decision was we wanted to return the furniture for a full refund. Gene (Jody’s husband) informed me they could not give us any money back. They could only offer us a store credit to buy more furniture. He told me he would lose money if he took the furniture back. In essence, I would have to spend double my money to get furniture that was of the quality I thought I was getting in the first place. I was obviously very upset as Jody indicated a refund would be no problem. She even said they didn’t need the money because they both had day jobs and the store wasn’t their primary source of income. When I asked why she offered the refund and not honor it she said she told me she would needed to talk to her husband. Don’t offer something unless you are prepared to come through!
They ended calling me back 20 minutes later and offered to take the furniture back minus 20%. The catch to this was they would not send out the delivery company to pick up the furniture; I had to bring it back myself or pay the delivery company $ 165.
I ended up loading the furniture up and taking it back to the store. They refunded us 80% of the furniture itself. We kept and paid for the rocking chair and mattress. We disputed the rest of the charges (the 20% of the furniture and delivery fee) with our credit card company as we felt we were completely misled through the whole process.
I would never recommend this store. Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid unless you want to deal with a lot finger pointing and sh!@#y products.
