I love mediawave, i always rented from them. They are the last of the Mohegans(they laughed when i said that). It broke my heart when they told me they were closing. Come on people of Fairfield! Show support for the mom and pop businesses. Put down your goddamned IPhone and rent a DVD or one of their many Blu-Rays. I seen Justin Long picking out movies there. We need celebrity support! Scott

Although to have all the normal TV and movie streaming programs, I love media wave, everyone there is friendly, they have anything you could ever possibly want to watch… Maybe not porn, but I never have checked, maybe they do, whatever, either way, media wave reminds me of a simpler time where blockbuster videos ruled the world and I’d have to beg my parents for a bag of sourpatch kids while renting mighty ducks for the 6th time.

I got banned from Media Wave Store forever: by the owner for telling him that I was gonna wait for the show to be released on Netflix. I wanted to watch a video he had but I did not want to spend $ 9.00 on three separate discs when with my Netflix account I could watch it all one after each other for free! Lol I guess he showed me! No DVD’s For YOU!

So happy this place exists. It’s inexpensive and they have a ridiculous amount of movies to choose from. Hope they stick around for a very long time.

If you can’t find it @: Red box, Netflix, Apple TV, amazon, Zulu, or free @ your local library and blockbuster is a thing if the past– then what can one do?! Well– here it is. If you can’t find it here then, it just doesn’t exist. Maybe that’s stretching it a bit but you get the point. New releases. Classic movies. Music concerts. Action, thrillers, sagas, dramas, foreign, epics, cult classics, westerns, scifi, noir, comedy, & everything else. This place is extremely organized & immaculate. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable & very helpful. Parking is tough. The rental policy is astringent but in this unawful world in which we live I suppose it’s merited.

Been going to Mediawave for years and have never had a bad experience. It’s nice to still have a neighborhood video store around. They always have stock, and the specials are great. If you want a new movie on time, Mediawave is the way to go. I also watch alot of TV shows and they always have stock on that as well.

With things like RedBox and Netflix slowly killing the neighborhood video store, somehow Media Wave holds its ground. And I thank the stars that it has. Media Wave has an incredible selection of movies, new and old, wacky and strange. I have spend many a night in their store walking the aisles, trying to find the perfect movie for a movie night with friends. Even though I’ve moved away from Farifield, I have yet to find a video store that holds a candle to Media Wave.

Media Wave is the best independent video store in Connecticut. Possibly even the entire East Coast. That’s a tall order, but it’s true. All the employees have been there for years and the owner has been around since the beginning of time.(Well, not really, but you get the idea) It’s an inexpensive alternative to Blockbuster. And don’t even mention Netflix or Redbox, because if you’re setting foot inside a Video Store, you KNOW you’re there to rent something that you can’t find elsewhere! These guys know whats up. If they don’t have it, they’ll special order it for you. They’ve got a HUGE variety of movies and games from all over the freaking world which is quite astonishing in such a tiny space. But they manage to do it, and it works! During check out they have a «No Phones» policy, which kicks ass. Dealing with the employees is kind of like being inside a Kevin Smith film. They know more about movies than you do, get used to it and learn something — If they recommend it, watch it.

If nothing else, MediaWave is cheaper than Blockbuster, but then again it doesn’t really matter because BB will probably be history by the end of this year. If you want cheaper, first-run movies, then RedBox is definitely the way to go at just $ 1.00 per night, but MediaWave excels at finding the movies that the others don’t have. They also rent games, which is great too, and again, cheaper than BB. Parking is fine and so are the hours. They try to give off this hipster-vibe, but I could care less, just tell me if you have the movie I want.

I don’t know how another reviewer could have had a bad experience– maybe you were on your phone? By the way, I love their«no phone» policy! I would much rather rent movies here than at Blockbuster, where you can’t find anything that wasn’t released a year ago unless it’s in the«family» section. This place has everything, including obscure TVDVD series from the early 90s. Whatever you’re looking for, they probably have it, but if you can’t find it just ask. I’ve always found the staff to be helpful.
