Circle of Friends Child Development Center

My son attends Circle of friends. We’re a month in. We love it! The classrooms are clean and organized. The teachers are amazing and super friendly! The students attended seem happy. I know my son gets excited when it’s his days to go. I totally recommend!!!
In a month of him attending we have noticed a change in his attitude, he more independent and use matters all the time.

This school is a joke and ran in an unprofessional manner. I recently pulled my child from that school because incidents kept occurring that i wasn’t being informed of.
Everyday, I or my mother would pick up my child, we would ask how her day was and everyday we got the same response «Good, Great, Had a wonderful day» Little by little we were picking up on things like; The first thing the children do when dropped off were go out side and play, the last thing they would be doing when picked up is be outside playing. The teacher is not there the whole day, Teachers aide aren’t paying attention to the children (you will see why I say this), my child was coming home SUPER hungry (I asked for a meal calendar numerous times) it took them almost a month to get me one. When I would ask my child what was for lunch and snack it was NEVER anything that was listed for the day, I was starting to hear (just apples mommy, just crackers, I didn’t eat anything cause it was yuck). I would ask my child if they would ask for something different, and my child would say «Yes but they wouldn’t give me any» In shock I asked staff if that was true their response was ridiculous «No, not unless we have a doctors note to give an alternate meal» I was also told that we would be informed if our children didn’t eat (I was never informed). We noticed that the schedule that was given to us in the meeting before school started was never followed (there would be times I would just come in to check on my child and see no structure, just kids running around as they please) Oh and NO TEACHER! My child is very advanced for her age, she knows both English and Spanish, ABC’s, 123’s, she can write her name as well as other words, she can add/​sub, and plus much more. But I was starting to notice I had to keep refreshing her memory this school was «dumbing» her down. I noticed that they weren’t teaching her anything but how to play.
Now this is where I drew the line and pulled my child out! Her last week started off with me finding a staple in her hair. which ok that’s not too bad. But things get worse… I walked in on a child throwing sand in my child’s face while staff (teacher’s aid) did nothing cause she was more concerned about sweeping the sand and keeping the facility cleaned rather then stop what was going on (mind you, English is her second language, You can barely understand her and she can barely speak English, how are Children, TODDLERS at that suppose to communicate, if they don’t speak Spanish) When brought to her attention she brushed it off and said «sorry» and continued to clean. That same day my daughter had a in their words «busted lip» I was not informed of what happen but there was a note in her cubby, that stated in an unprofessional manner «Child’s name, hit her mouth on a child’s back and busted her lip» that’s all the note read. When brought to staffs and supervisors attention they said I don’t know exactly what happen but she was fine after we put a paper towel on it.
Her last day it was rainy and cold, I walk in on the kids playing out side! When asked «Why are these kids out side?» Teachers aid stated «well it not that cold» Upon walking out the facility i noticed a large scratch on the back of my child’s neck and nail/​scratch marks on her wrist. When i asked my child what happen she said «the girl hit me» She didn’t know the name of the child cause the «girl» was new and already went home. I asked her did this just happen she said yes in the sand box. So i went back to the out side area and informed the supervisor, The same lady who doesn’t speak English well enough to communicate was outside in-​charge of watching the sand box, all staff stated that they didn’t know what happened. I was furious to hear that NO ONE could tell me anything. As soon as I began to complain the supervisor stated «well your daughter can be bossy, and we have seen her hit, as well as be bossy to the teacher…» I stated «Well then why wasn’t i ever informed? cause what you are telling me now is irrelevant to now!» I also told her «it would of made a huge difference if you would have updated me at the time of the incident so as a parent i could do my job and put my foot down and correct my child» she then stated that «She and staff cannot do that everyday, other wise they would have to do it for every child, everyday» excuse me? That is your job working in the educational system to update parents on their well being in school.
This place has shown to be unprofessional, shady, and noneducational.

My 22 month old baby girl has been attending this center since October of 2014. At first she did not want to go because she was so use to being at home with her mommy. It took a couple of weeks for my baby to adjust and now she loves being there. She claps when we pull up to the center and has no problems about spending her day there. Ms. Rose «director» has been extremely professional and compassionate with both myself and my daughter. Of course there have been incidents of my baby falling or being hit by another child. But that’s a part of life, things happen so quickly and it is no fault of the attendants. I have ways been informed of incidents and communicated with of the slightest problem. It is always clean and everyone is always friendly. The center is about 15 miles away from my home, but it is worth the drive. It is comforting to know that my baby is in good hands.

my son just attended cof this July as part of the pre-​k summer academy. I was very impressed with how they ran the program. On the last day of class they showed the parents what a typical day in class was like from art projects, writing their names, learning numbers, shapes, abcs, singing songs, circle time, etc. all jam packed in a month. Ms. Rose the Director and Ms. Patty the Assistant Director were very friendly and greeted each parent each day. My sons teacher Ms. Ann Marie and Ms. Joy joy were just awesome and knew how to engage with each student and knew how to make class fun.

My 3 year old and 4.5 year old love their school and all of their teachers. The teachers are fantastic with the kids and really understand their needs. Ms. Rose, the director, is always open to talking with parents, even discussing challenges we face at home with the kids. She is an amazing resource of knowledge. There are video cameras in all the classrooms and I feel confident in my kids’ safety at COF.

Circle of Friends offers an individualized approach to child care. They assessed my daughters unique needs and helped her adapt to the classroom environment. We have been going to COF a little over 3 months and our 27 month old is blossoming. Rose, the center director, cares about the kids and gets to know them. The Teachers in the infant room where our daughter is are nurturing and caring.

Wonderful staff!!! My son attending this facility for two years he was more than ready to enter kindergarten all due to their trained staff and great curriculum. My family highly recommends Circle of friends.

This place is a joke. We recently had to pull or 22 month old baby out of this center. They are understaffed for the amount of kids. My kid is always tired because they fail to give him a nap and every time i picked him up, he drank a full cop of water because he is thirsty. The thing that sealed the deal for us is our kid got bit twice drawing blood. He got bit on the arm and also on the side of his body which almost took a small chunk out (you can see teeth marks all the way around). You know, we understand that baby’s might bite and that is just something that might happen, but twice? The staff failed to call us right away and failed to tell us when we picked up our kid. It was Friday when this happened and we paid for the next week in advance not knowing the incident happened. Thirty minutes after we left we got a phone call saying that our kid was bit once on the arm and we need to sign a incident report. They failed to tell us about his side getting bit. The teachers explanation (which we later found out she wasn’t even there) was you know, our kid was just being aggressive that day and crawling around and he got bit. We didn’t find out how bad the bites were until we got home and give our kid a bath. Since it was late we couldn’t call to talk about the incident. On Monday we talked to the staff and nobody new what was going on. They acted like they didn’t know he had gotten bit the second time and I informed them that a band aid covered it when we found out. They were like, oh really, I wasn’t there for that. Later we got a call from the manager and she said that oh, I looked at the security footage and your kid didn’t look hurt the rest of the day and we don’t see he got bit on the side on the footage. It’s like oh really, who do you think bit him. We asked for our money back stating that we don’t feel comfortable leaving our kid in your care after he was bit twice and after we confirmed that nobody seems to know whats going on here. We wouldn’t have paid on Friday for the next week if you would have informed us like you should have. The manager refused to pay up saying we need to give a notice. The staff is irresponsible and the management doesn’t give a crap about the parents or kids when incidents happen. They just look to pass the blame away from them. I would avoid this place at all costs.
