Dr Stahl is also ABVP board certified in avian medicine. ***Why take your companion to a veterinarian that cares for exotic pets occasionally? SEAVS ONLY cares for exotic animals, such as: birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, rodents, sugar gliders, prairie dogs, etc. ***We have many progressive surgical and diagnostic tools available including, digital xray, ultrasound, radio surgery, endoscopy, and companion laser therapy. From routine exams to behavior issues, we can help you with your exotic companion!

History

Established in 2003.

Dr Stahl started an exotic animal practice within another local veterinary clinic in 1992. In 2003 he left there to start his own practice which treats exclusively: mice, rats, gerbils, hamsters, chinchillas, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hedgehogs, prairie dogs, reptiles, amphibians and avian species (passerines, fowl and parrots). In 2008, SEAVS moved to a much large facility in Fairfax, VA. We now have 4 full time veterinarians who treat exotic pets. Dr Stahl is ABVP board certified in avian medicine, Dr Crum and Dr Costanzo have completed the ABVP-​avian residency and Dr Sommer in already in to the second year of her avian residency. We are the most experienced exotic animal veterinary practice in the Washington, DC and Maryland/​Virgina areas.

Business Owner

Scott Stahl, DVM, DABVP-​avian has been practicing exotic animal medicine in the Northern Virginia area for more than 20 years. In 2003, he founded Stahl Exotic Animal Veterinary Services with a vision to establish one of the largest exclusive, avian and exotic animal specialty practices in the world.
