I had an emergency new patient visit for abnormal bleeding. I was called by her office as I was parking my car in her lot! to let me know that Dr would not see me because as her office stated I was 10 min late!
My appt was at 9am and I was there at 8:40. They told me I had to be there at 8:30! All paper work was filled out on line already! Crazy unrealistic staff and Doctor! As a new patient they should have taken me and with a large amount of abnormal bleeding I should not have been turned away! Worst judgement call and staff Ever!!! So many other good Ob/​Gyn options in Northern VA. Do not go to this one!!!

I’ve been going to Dr. Garreau for several years now. Dr. Garreau and her nurses are wonderful and that’s why I was willing to overlook her rude front office staff. Don’t expect to be greeted or get any eye contact from staff once you enter the office. Don’t dare interrupt their conversations. Just walk straight and sign in. The office environment is very old and could definitely use a face-​lift. When you walk into the office, you feel as if you walked back in time. Definitely not a relaxing environment. However, Dr. Garreau is very quick and efficient with her exams. She definitely tries to make you feel comfortable during the whole process.
Lately I’ve had to deal with the office staff a bit more than on an annual basis, and having to deal with her front office staff more than once a year really shed light on how frustrating her staff is to work with. Getting answers from her staff is like pulling teeth. I literally had to pull information from them as if it’s my job to know exactly what to ask and how to ask the questions. Not only are they NOT helpful, they are extremely rude. Every time I call the office, I am made to feel as though I’ve interrupted them. I hang up the phone feeling deflated and irritable.
Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Dr. Garreau. I am looking for a great doctor and a well managed office. After all, the doctor is only half of it. The office staff is just as important and they also have to be great.
