Feline Foundation of Greater Washington

I’ll never work with FFGW ever again.
They started off by working us up on one cat that seemed to be a perfect match for our family — then told us the fostering family had given the cat to a neighbor.
The next animal they put us together with seemed like an OK match until we got her home. It has been nothing but trouble for all of us since then. We later found out FFGW lied to us. They told us the cat was a street rescue with minor health problems that had been dealt with. Instead, we found out later the cat was severely abused and turns out to have real anxiety problems that we were not equipped or prepared to deal with.
In addition, FFGW are the most difficult people EVER to get in touch with. They don’t return phone calls and take days to get back via email. Very poorly run organization.

FFGW’s staff and officers are committed, dedicated people who put the welfare of the cats they rescue from terrible conditions at the head of the list. As a foster caregiver and adopter from FFGW, I was and remain impressed by their heartfelt desire that all FFGW rescues get fostered in and adopted to good homes and people who share their animal welfare values.

I have fostered for, and adopted from, the Feline Foundation of Greater Washington. All of the cats are fostered in happy, loving homes, and they receive the absolute best medical care. I know from personal experience that this rescue is committed to the welfare of the cats it rescues. They may not rescue the thousands of cats a year that other rescues do, but that is because once a cat comes into their organization, they make a commitment to that cat for the rest of its life. They make an effort to find cats in their care a home that will last a lifetime, however an adopter can return a cat, no questions asked, for whatever reason or no reason at all. They also commit to making sure that their cats get whatever medical care they need, without regard to expense, prior to adoption. This is a great organization to work with, and a great organization from whom to adopt.
