Bijou Hair & Nail

Short story:
Service: Gel manicure; only 4 colors to choose from; only applied one coat of each (base, color, and clear top coat). Horrible service and horrible job done. Will not be returning!
Long story:
Like the previous reviewer, I also came in to get my nails done –gel manicure. When I walked in at 4:30, the lady was helping a customer and said it would be an hour wait. I decided to leave and come back for a 5:30 appointment. When I returned, she was still helping the previous customer and did not get to me until 5:45. It wouldn’t have been a big deal because I understand that it’s best to finish with the previous customer first. However, the same courtesy was not offered to me. When she finally got to help me, a customer came in for a haircut and she told him that it’d be about 20 minutes. While he was contemplating whether to wait or not, she asked me if I could wait 10 minutes so that she could help the customer. I said no! If you’re familiar with the gel nail process, then this part will make more sense. But essentially, she had me dry my nails in between coat applications for 10 minutes so she could help the other customer. I asked her to please finish with me first and she ignored that, using the step in the manicure as an excuse. Then, she kept switching back and forth between me and the other customer, and I had bits of hair all over my hands and manicure. It was gross and unprofessional. She finished the haircut first, and at that point, had a third customer waiting for eyebrow waxing. Instead of coming back to me to finish my bad manicure, she began to help the next customer, and proceeded to wax a little bit, and then come and apply another coat! It was unsanitary! Finally, she finished my manicure. I told her how horrible the job was and asked for a discount. She discounted $ 5 off of $ 35. That wasn’t enough for me because one particular nail was not well done. I asked her to fix it and she said that they were closing. Since I was the first customer there with an appointment, I didn’t see how that was my problem. She agreed to fix it, but after finishing with the other customer. I couldn’t afford to wait anymore, and I had to pay the $ 30. It was a horrible experience and bad service.

I happened to drive by this place one day and noticed a sign that said Hair cut men’s $ 14.99 and women’s $ 20.99. IT is a hair salon and Nail place located next to a tattoo parlor adjacent to Curry Auto of Fairfax. My review is based on haircut alone
It isnt the BEST haircut I have ever received in the world but for $ 14.99 I cant complain, she did a decent job, followed my instructions. To add to this, I will say, Im a easy going guy, if my haircut is a mess, it really doesnt bother me cuz it will grow again anyways…
The owner is a Korean lady that appears to cater to a lot of non Asian customers, so take that for whatever its worth, cool thing is she lets you pet her mini chihuahua that Unilocal and barks alerting the owners that a new customer has arrived… really cute dog.
This salon appears to have stayed in business for 20 years according to this lady… and nobody has yet to review it in Unilocal… how interesting… anyways…if you are SUPER critical of your hair, than I would be slightly weary going here… if you do… make sure you are adament in describing exactly what it is you want her to do… but for the price… cant be beat
