Lorna has been our substitute Cat Mom for all 3 of our guys for years and we don’t know what we’d do without her. She loves our pets as if they were her own and gives us 100% peace of mind when we have to be away from home. No detail is too small or unimportant for her to notice and handle.
As luck would have it, we’ve also had a medical pet emergency or two come up while we were gone and having her there to take care of everything has been invaluable. She is totally dialed in to all our vet issues and simply jumps in to handle anything that needs to be addressed.
Her communication has always been terrific and we’ve never had a moment’s anxiety or doubt about the situation at home when she’s in charge (which is every time we leave). The real evidence is the calm, content state of our pets when we return – it is always obvious they have been well cared for.
If you’re looking for a caring, responsible and reliable person to fill in during your absence, she’s it.

Lorna was great with our cat. Even gave her a new car toy and very nice note of her time with the feline princess when we get home.

Wow, simply the best and nicest person in the world. We love Lorna. She has taken care of our cat, Wagner without any problems. I don’t know what i would do without her. She has also taken care of our plants when we’ve been gone. She leaves the cat litter area clean and I never have to worry about my cat. If you’re not using her, you’re really missing out!

My two pooches took to Lorna upon the first meeting. Always a good sign! We had the need for a pet sitter for a month and put our faith in Lorna, who lives locally. She was always very diligent and communicative, leaving notes about how they both did that morning etc.
It was a load off my mind knowing that they were in such capable, loving hands. Thanks Lorna!

Lorna has been watching our cat Sasha for probably close to 10 years. We couldn’t be more happy with the love and attention Lorna gives not only to Sasha but to our home when we’re gone. Without being asked she takes the time to see if plants in the yard need watering and does so and always brings in the mail. What more could you ask for. When we’re away we are confident that Lorna will take care of Sasha and if she needs medical attention Lorna has our authorization to get Sasha to the vet.
To the person who wrote an extremely unfair and «sour grapes» review which appears in the filtered section of Unilocal,I have a feeling you’ve been through numerous pet sitters and no one would ever be good enough for you so don’t come down on Lorna. She doesn’t deserve that kind of a review. Maybe you should stay home!

If I could give a negative score I would. We trusted Lorna to watch our 3 cats and leopard gecko for 6 days. Not only did we have to cut our trip short, but the standard of care that was promised was not delivered.
Lorna promised to call when she started to let us know everything was OK. When I hadn’t heard from her, I got nervous and called her. Lorna had trouble getting the front door key to work, but instead of calling (she had multiple phone numbers to use and instructions to call if anything came up), her plan was to try again the next day — without feeding the cats or letting us know that there had been a problem. That judgment on her part nearly caused my fiancé to fly home immediately.
We suggested that she try WD40 in the lock — rather than the wax she had thought of trying — and she got in. I should note that we examined the lock and the key upon our return and had absolutely no trouble locking or unlocking the door. We locked and unlocked it a couple of dozen times and were able to open the door every time.
After that first day, we felt we needed to check in every day, and when Lorna reported more trouble with the lock, we decided to return early as we did not trust that she could reliably manage the situation.
She had also promised to clean the 3 litter boxes once per day (if not, it can get to be quite a mess). We were gone 4 days and the boxes had never been cleaned. Upon our return, there was urine and feces outside all of the boxes. Lorna also promised to clean out the water dish (we have a drink well), it was dirty and there was food debris in the bottom.
Bottom line… Although Lorna seems to be a nice person who cares a lot about animals, she did not demonstrate the level of professionalism one would expect from a full-​time pet sitter. If and when we need a cat sitter again, I plan on calling our veterinarian for a recommendation.

We have four cats and two birds, and it’s important for us to find a pet sitter who loves animals as much as we do. We were anxious about an upcoming trip, because three of the cats had never been left home alone before.
Lorna is the perfect find. She came by before our trip, met our pets, and asked a lot of helpful questions about their care. It’s obvious that Lorna cares about animals, and I could tell our pets would be in good hands. She also offered to bring in our mail and water our plants. When we returned, the cats and birds all appeared happy and healthy.
If you’re one of those people who worries about your pets when you’re away, Lorna is the ideal pet sitter. We were very happy with her services and feel a lot better about taking trips. Thanks Lorna!
