Cascading Falls

I am glad that I’ve chosen Cascading Falls to redo our yards. The job includes cleaning out dead plants, removing lawns from both yards, widening both sides of driveway, installing a flagstone pathway in the front yard, installing DG in old back lawn area, preparing soil through out for new plants and replacing old sprinkler with a new drip irrigation system, also adding 2 lampposts with specially requested dimmer switches.
The owner, David is very knowledgealbe, flexible and patient. His bid was the most reasonable. His crew is very courteous and hard working. They started early and worked in the rain sometimes and always cleaned out the place before they left. They even pressure washed the patio and deck areas without us asking. They will do their best to please you, to get what you want. I am really happy with our new landscaping.

My experience with David and the crew from Cascading Falls was excellent. David was very punctual, and approached everything with a positive attitude. He worked with us on a phased approach, and was very easy to work with when we made changes to the original plan. He crew was polite, professional, and open to listening when we asked for little extra things. Throughout the project, we had several «course corrections»; David was never rattled and responded to our requests very professionally. I would definitely use him again! I highly recommended David and Cascading Falls.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. David was easy to work with. We applied for the Cash for Grass rebate offered by the City of Roseville. David worked with us so that all the requirements were met. He removed our front and rear lawn, but in a drip irrigation system, tilled in soil, graded, and put in a drainage system so water wasn’t constantly pooling in front of our front porch. We were not home during the day when the work was being done, but our neighbors reported that the men worked constantly, taking short lunch breaks. Clean up was done at the end of each day. David was great to communicate with either by phone or e-​mail. We changed our mind several times about exactly what we wanted done. David made it seem like it was not a problem at all each time. We HIGHLY recommend this company!

David and his Cascading Falls crew completed our front yard drought resistant landscaping and backyard redesign, including moss rock retaining wall, full drip system, plantings, and landscape lighting. All aspects of our experience using Cascading Falls was excellent; prompt communication, accurate cost estimates, and very reasonable pricing compared to other estimates we received.
We are completely satisfied with the results and with the project turn around time. Additionally, I was very impressed with David’s consistently quick responses to our questions either via email or phone, in my previous experience with other contractors I was lucky if I ever got a call back. In short, David is a stand up guy to do business with and in my opinion more contractors should take lessons from him.

We had David come out and give us an estimate on whether or not we needed to have a concrete slab placed beneath our three tier water fountain. He gave us the estimate but he then went on to say that we really did not need to invest in such an expense but rather all we needed was a couple of plastic shims to make the two upper tiers of the fountain level. He then went on to actually place a couple of shims beneath the middle tier and the entire fountain was level. We appreciate David’s honesty and professionalism in helping us find the best solution for the lowest cost.

We are so pleased with Cascading Falls. They completely removed (and disposed of) our old sod and landscaping, repaired/​replaced our irrigation, and put in new sod and plants. David is very personable and professional and we have a lot of respect for him and his crew. David is responsive and punctual. His crew is hard working and did a great job. I especially appreciate that David was flexible and willing to work with us in choosing plants for the landscape and helped us fine tune placement. I highly recommend Cascading Falls and will use them again when we decide to work on the back yard.

I selected this business based on Unilocal reviews, and I am so glad I did! We replaced all the turf in our backyard with a covered flagstone/​decomposed granite patio, a raised vegetable garden bed (high enough off the ground that I can work it without getting on my bad knees), and drought tolerant, low-​water landscaping. He also replaced some older spray irrigation in the front yard with drip, reconfigured our irrigation system controls so they made more sense, and replaced some malingering plants in the front yard. David arranged for Patio Pros of Folsom (also a very good, very responsive company) to install the patio cover, and incorporated my wish list of flowering, fragrant plants into the design. He communicates often and well, and his crew is fantastic. Even though we only asked for a backyard redo, his crew went through the whole property trimming and cleaning up the existing landscape, and even raked our leaves in the front yard. I can’t say enough about how delighted I am with the results, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

We had dead lawns torn out and new drought-​resistant landscaping installed with drip system. The team even trimmed back pre-​existing plants. The plants David picked out are beautiful and diverse, including some with great movement in the breeze, and I’m glad I trusted his professional opinion.

We are very happy with our landscaping from Cascading Falls. David and his crew are very courteous and professional. We had drought tolerant landscaping, lighting, and a drip system installed with new timer. David has a good eye for design and attention to detail. For example, he uses 3 different types of rock and stone for the dry riverbed to get just the right look, and spaced our plants out well so that as our yard matures it wont be too crowded. I would recommend them to anyone.

I noticed a sprinkler valve leaking and called over 10 places before I reached David. All could not respond for at least several weeks some several months. With our drought I didn’t feel that I could wait that long. I left a voice mail for David and returned my call within minutes and fixed the leak within 2 hours of leaving my voice message. I am having him back to update my yard in stages as he is reasonably priced, provideds great communication and is very efficient.

We actually found this company off of another service review site, on which they had good reviews. We got a special deal for 4 man hours of landscaping. They showed up at the time they said they would, and there was 3 of them. So they were there for an hour and 20 mins, but did an outstanding job. We mostly had pruning and weed pulling, but they got more done in that short time then we could’ve done in a whole weekend! They even layed down the mulch that we had bought. We will definitely use these guys again.

**Update** after I posted this review Dave sent me a polite email asking how he could rectify the situation to my satisfaction. Within a couple of weeks, his guys were in my yard, pulling back the mulch and laying landscape fabric at no additional cost. I really respect that Dave contacted me and has integrity and pride in his business. I would not hesitate to use him again in the future.

I kept David’s information for year after my initial quote before signing a contract for his work. At that time, I wasn’t quite ready and needed to be sure what I wanted before I committed to a contractor, but I appreciated David’s vision and enthusiasm for his work.
Out of all the contractors I sought quotes from, David was among the few I was comfortable with. There are several competent landscapers available in the Sacramento valley — David happened to be the individual I believe was able to understand what I wanted the most, and provided enough options throughout the project.
As with some projects, changes may occur or issues with the original work may require review. David was responsive to any and all questions I had, which resulted in a solution or a common understanding.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend David to my friend and family.

With the current drought situation, I thought to convert my dated sprinkler system to drip and calibrate what cannot be converted. I came upon Cascading Falls, Inc. from Unilocal.I found Dave very polite and patiently listened to my statement of work. I talked to other landscape contractors but found Dave’s bid to be most fair.
Dave and his team were prompt, efficient (they did not seem to even go on break, just continued to work!!) and delivered on the SOW. I thought that there was an issue about a sprinkler and had to contact Dave back. He looked at it the very next day (and it was raining then!) and looked into my concern. Well, it was not a leak but the sprinkler system relieving pressure.
I recommend Cascading Falls, Inc. for the team’s efficiency, expertise and excellent customer service skills!

David and his team at Cascading Falls are FANTASTIC!
My fiancé and I desperately needed to re-​landscape the front and back yard at our new home. This is our first home and as first time home buyers quickly learn, home ownership is expensive! We were finally able to save up some money and were excited to turn our nondescript, dying yard into something we could truly enjoy (and would hopefully increase the value of our home!).
I called David along with two other highly recommended landscaping companies. I relied only on Unilocal when determining who to use. Right off the bat, I got a good feeling from David. He arrived to our house on time for our meeting (unlike one contractor who was 30 minute late without a phone call or explanation). He was the only one who had a vision for our yard. He was able to listen to what we wanted and creatively reinvented our yard. Out of all the landscapers I interviewed, he was the only one who had the technical understanding I was looking for (I’m a mechanical engineer so I knew a few questions to ask) as well as the creativity and plant knowledge I needed (I know nothing when it comes to gardening).
We started work very quickly and my finance and I were more than pleased with David’s crew. They were professional, courteous, hardworking and friendly! They arrived on time (if not early) and always completed exactly what they were scheduled to complete (if not more!). We re-​did our entire front yard: removed everything, re-​did irrigation, re-​located water hookup, drainage, added a new timer, new sod, new plants, flagstone path, small foot bridge, cement curbing, lighting, etc. It really was «the works». I was very concerned that we were going to go over budget but David kept us on budget down to the dollar. I was extremely appreciative of that as I know budgets creep up very quickly!
That being said, David and his crew weren’t willing to cut any corners. They take great pride in their work and the results really show. They spent more time and effort than I expected and now we have the best looking yard in the neighborhood.
We did not have enough money set aside to do the front and back yard simultaneously but will 100% be using David again this time next year to finish the back yard. I can’t imagine using anyone else!
If you are in the market for a landscaper — it is most definitely worth it to give David a call. Do your homework and interview a few landscapers, and you will quickly realize that Cascading Falls is the best out there. THANK YOU DAVID AND CREW!
P. S. Regarding the comment that says Cascading Falls is over priced, I think that person is misinformed. Anyone who has looked into landscaping should know it can be somewhat pricey. David’s bid was better than the 2 other bids we got. I think David’s pricing was MORE than reasonable… I actually think we got quite the bargain! And I can not imagine a scenario where David would not act professionally and courteously.

If your looking with professional, courteous and timely attention to your landscape needs, you would do well to speak with David of Cascading Falls Inc.
David knows his business, and offers a customer service experience that is all too rare in the industry. He’s a busy guy, so plan ahead and you can expect a finished project that’s on time and completed to your expectations.

David and Cascading falls are amazing. I never leave reviews but David earned this one. Not only was the price reasonable and my yard look amazing, but the customer service was impeccable. David was always on time, listened, gave great advise, worked with us on our budget, did the work fast and his crew was polite and did great work. If you’re looking for a landscaper who will be honest and do great work I very much recommend cascading falls.

We did an entire front and back yard remodel. The primary reason for the remodel was to add proper grading and drainage on our property. Dave came out to give the bid and was polite, respectful, and very thorough with the details of the project. We had drains installed, entirely new plumbing for sprinklers and drips, sod, mow strips, river rock, landscape including plants, trees, a beautiful dry creek bed which all the plumbing ties into and our home looks amazing! Neighbors constantly comment on how great our yard looks. In addition, Dave and his crew were very easy to work with on the design and layout of the yards, cleaned up after themselves every day, and worked incredibly hard, even in the 100+ degree weather this past summer.
I am so thankful we chose Dave to do our yards. His exceptionally high quality of work has added great value to our property. I will only use Dave and his crew for future projects and I highly recommend him. Thanks Dave!

EH… I feel like for what they wanted to do it was over priced… When I tried to negotiate they were rude about it and made me feel like I wasn’t good enough to be landscaped by they’re company.
I was easy to get an appointment but that is the only pro about this whole process…

Dave is so amazing. I highly recommend him. He came in and totally remodeled my small back yard for an affordable price. He and his crew are very pleasant. He is expeditious responding to emails and phone calls; and then shows up the next day if necessary. He is professional in his paperwork including estimate and invoices. I will hire him again if needed and have recommended him to friends.

David is very prompt and polite. He called us back within a day and proceeded to make any repairs he saw fit to our lawn situation. He finished the entire job with exceptional neatness and took the time to walk me through the work done and explained to me how everything should work. During our walk — thru we noticed a large leak and he proceeded to fix that at no extra cost.
