Description

Specialties

The school specializes in providing an individualized educational experience based in Montessori principals to children grades 4 – 6. As a new school, we are able to provide an environment with a very low teacher to student ratio. We are committed to providing an individualized education that meets the needs of each child, while maintaining rigorous academic standards. Our curriculum meets or exceeds Common Core standards, without the need for standardized testing. Student progress is monitored continually within the classroom, and curriculum is adjusted to meet the needs of each child. Our multi-age classroom provides optimal mentoring opportunities between peers, strengthening their knowledge and understanding of the purpose of the work. We value the development of independence, responsibility and self-confidence as well as an understanding of the connection between the individual, community and the environment.

History

Established in 2014.

Montessori Pathways opened its doors in October 2014. The school was created out of a need for an upper elementary education in a small, homey environment similar to that of South County Montessori in North Kingstown.
