History

Established in 2008.

Deane Minor began his career as a private practitioner in 1984 alongside Tom Tuohy, with whom he worked for 24 years. Deane initially worked in family law, estate planning, and adoption law; then expanded his practice to include real estate and business law.

After Tom passed away in 2007, Deane and Kara Kruse began collaborating on projects. On April 1, 2008, Deane and Kara formed the Tuohy Minor Kruse PLLC, including Tom’s surname in his memory.

Before TMK, Kara practiced law in Spokane, working in Indian gaming law in California, and ran a solo family law practice in Everett from 1997 to 2007.

Renee DeFreece has been working with Deane and Kara from the beginning of TMK. On January 1, 2014, Renee became a partner of the firm. Renee practices family law, guardianship, probate, and small estate planning.

Melanie Griffin joined the firm in the fall of 2011 after having worked on several cases with TMK. She practices family law and probate.
