SWANQ Style Studio

First and last steam pedicure. The tech was nice, the soa was clean, but i did not get the relaxation i was expecting. No spa massage chairs, the restful music in the room was competing with the rock in the salon and the noise from the employee break room. And they did not give me time to dry just put stuff between my toes and sent me on my way right after the polish. Glad it was a groupon. I would not do this again.

Went for my appt at Swanq and was stoked as usual! My hair was done to perfection again (but of course dahlink!)! Then I received a spontaneous complimentary makeover from Alyssa, and holy cow! She used some WONDERFUL moisturizer on my face and some great makeup. I looked gorgeous and my face felt wonderfully smooth and no stickiness or tacky feeling. Thank you both Jesse and Alyssa I felt like a queen again when I left! It’s good to be queen.

I went to this salon thinking they could help me with a new style since I have had the same cut for a while. I told the women one thing I wanted was an undercut but if she didn’t feel comfortable tell me. She said she was and then proceeded to ask all the other stylists. The under cut did turn out OK but when it came to what to do with the rest of my hair she was not really any help. I asked for something to change it up and she was blank. I had to pull ideas out of her. I end up with a OK haircut and not satisfied.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I was incredibly nervous. Coming from southern California, I am spoiled by the amount of talented stylists there are. I have very long hair, that for some reason, most stylists want to chop a good 3 inches off at least. My appointment was with Brittany, and she eased my fears immediately. She was sweet, funny and listened to my needs. The owner came over at one point and was beyond complimentary. Just an all around great experience!!! I will be back for ALL my future hair needs. Totally recommend! :)

I’m disappointed with my hair I got done this evening started at 3:00& got done around 6:10pm I’m taking the time for this review only because I’m that upset I paid $ 250 for my color, oil bond treatment, cut & curl, just upset that what I asked for I did not get and was so clear about getting rid of the orange in my hair and going darker, disappointed it did not happen and hope they can fix it so I don’t have to run and get box dye and waste more money. Especially paying extra for the treatment that now was for nothing since it will have to get colored again. Pple there are awesome tho & place has a wonderful relaxing feel. I’m just upset @ the 3 hrs I spent they’re and even if they can fix it, its hours I have to find a sitter for my kid now as hubby sat in truck with her for 3 hours this past time waiting on me and won’t do it again. Hair to me looks same except less harsh and easier transition from my older colors but if I wanted to go back lighter I would have just went back to Aveda salon and they would have done it up to my roots so it flowed better. but key was to get rid of the lighter more damaged & orange hair and that just did not happen.

Been going here for a few months now and they are great. I get my head shaved and my beard trimmed and they always do a fantastic job. I enjoy their great customer service and their highly trained staff.

I got a Groupon for a Keratin treatment and Connie was my stylist. I was tired and out of it from a medical procedure, but she was very friendly and pleasant. She was also super efficient and I was done after about an hour and 45 minutes. (I’ve had keratins done several times and they usually take 2+ hours)
Just finally washed my hair and it is perfect and sooo soft. Very happy with what I got!
About the salon — it is surprisingly pretty big inside. There’s a big front desk and retail shelves and a little waiting area where they will offer you coffee or water. I was the only one there so it was pretty quiet but I imagine it could get loud if all of the chairs were full.

I always go to Connie to get my hair done. We’ve been playing with color and it always turns out awesome. My main concern was making my hair dry and gross from all the color but she found a way to lighten my hair without bleach. I did want a brighter shade later on so we just streaked it throughout. She’s always been open to what would work and what wouldn’t. She recently cut my hair short (2^nd time in my life) and I love it! I was hesitant about putting layers in but trusted her when she said it would make my hair look thicker and I’m so glad I listened. It’s exactly what I wanted.

I have been receiving hair services from Jesse for several years. I first started going to him when I was past frustrated with another hairdresser and figured I could do as well with color from a box. I started researching hair color online and found Jesse’s name. He is actually a board-​certified colorist, and one of just a few in this area. He is such a master that he actually flies to California to teach others.
The salon moved from a location closer to me, to the current location and I make the 40-​minute drive to South Everett because I can always count on Jesse’s expertise and I enjoy his company as well.
I get excellent hair cuts and hair treatments, but I have to say… for the absolute BEST in hair color, Jesse’s the guy to see. :) Mary

I saw a groupon for Swanq online and purchased two vouchers so a friend and I could get manicures and pedicures together. It was a disappointing experience.
Our appointments were both for 12pm and my friend was not brought back until 12:45. Just about the time she was seated at the table next to me for her manicure, I was shuffled to a different location to start my pedicure. We weren’t able to chat until my pedicure was done and hers was just getting started.
My technician was Constance, and while she was very friendly and personable, I wasn’t thrilled with my manicure or pedicure. She did essentially no cuticle work because they «looked pretty good», which couldn’t be further from the truth! I could tell she was timid about trimming my cuticles, which could be why she skimped on this service. The top coat she used was from a nearly empty bottle (must have been their last one??), and was super goopy. It was applied thickly and unevenly and took forever to dry.
The pedicure was just as lackluster. Constance seated me at the chair and said she had to go collect her tools because someone had put them away while I was getting my manicure done. So I waited while she got everything ready and brought it out (apparently for the second time?). She again didn’t address my cuticles, and she didn’t trim or file down my toenails — just touched up a couple rough edges. Disappointing, because that’s the whole reason I pay for pedicures; if I just wanted paint, I’d have done it myself. My poor friend ended up with polish all over the place too; I expect a «professional» to be able to color inside the lines.
I will say that the foot bath itself was very enjoyable. Typically I visit spas that have jets in the foot baths, but Swanq had rolling massage rods, which felt great! The chair wasn’t all that comfortable, and lacked the massage function that most salons nowadays have, but the foot rollers were a nice change.
Overall, it seemed like this was something new that the spa was adding to their list of services, and they hadn’t yet worked out the kinks. There were only about 30 colors to choose from, which didn’t really matter to me because I brought my own polish. I noticed that Constance used a brown scrub on my feet, and my friend’s technician, Xylina, brought out a big tub of blue scrub, and asked Constance where she’d found the other one. After the scrub, the lotion they used for the «massage» was nearly all gone, and I saw Xylina use the pump to scrape along the inside edges of the bottle, then wipe it directly onto my friend’s legs. Gross and unsanitary.
I had to leave before my friend was finished, because I had an appointment at 3pm (yes, we were there for nearly three hours). I waited at the front desk for 15 – 20 minutes before I finally wrote my name on my printed Groupon and left it on the counter with a tip. Nothing about my experience will compel me to return. Swanq’s employees have a lot to learn and practice before I’d ever consider another mani or pedi there.

I’m new to the area so I’m in the search to find my regular go to places for my usual stuff— one of them is a hair salon. I discovered Swanq through a Groupon deal since I’ve wanted to get a Brazilian blowout/​keratin treatment done. Groupon was a pretty good deal… $ 100 for a $ 200 treatment and the studio had amazing reviews so I decided to go for it.
Glad I did… My appointment for keratin treatment, cut and color was with Connie. When I first sat down in the salon chair, we talked about what I wanted to get done and what color would be great for me. I said that I’ve always done a keratin treatment on my hair, so I’d like to do the same this time. She explained to me that I don’t need to do keratin because that’s for coarser hair types which I don’t have, and that the Brazilian blowout treatment would work best for me. Plus, with the Brazilian blowout, I wouldn’t have to wait 48 hours to wash my hair, unlike with the keratin. I was so surprised that apparently those two treatments were completely different! My previous salon never explained to me the difference and had just always done keratin on my hair (and I hated having to wait 48 hours to wash my hair thereafter).
I picked the color that I wanted which was black with purple/​auburn red tint. Another key factor for me to finding my regular go to hair stylist is how we interact, and Connie was so friendly and so easy to get along with. I enjoyed our chats while she was working on my hair.
Another kudos for her was when she was washing the color treatment off my hair, an apprentice was watching her and she was explaining to her what she was doing (she was adding toner to my hair). She goes on about the importance of toner, how to blend all the colors together from the previous color, etc etc. Love that she knew her stuff and I could really trust her with my hair.
After the color and Brazilian blowout was done, she proceeded cutting my hair. I still had some bangs that I am growing out and she suggested to frame my face so it’ll look like the bangs that I am growing are part of my hairstyle.
So happy to have discovered Swanq! Totally recommend Connie!

I have been seeing Brittany for years. Absolutely love the environment Swanq creates. I’ve had color, cut, facials, hair extensions, and brow shaping. Swanq never dissapoints. I recommend any of their stylists. If you’re looking for a new salon that does it all, this is place! They always take great care of me!

Love this salon and love Emily!!! I’ve been a customer of Emily’s for about 3 years, and I’ve been going to swanq as long as she’s worked there. It’s clean, friendly and the owner really cares about his staff and it shows! And the prices aren’t bad either. Highly recommend.

First of its really scary to go get your hair done especially after you have had a bad experience. I called Swanq on Thursday and was in on Tues with Kristina. As soon as I met Kristina my fears were gone, she has a very easy way about her, you can say or not say anything she didn’t make me feel like I had to talk or that I couldn’t share anything with her. In fact I found both with her, I was able to laugh and chat with her and at times I was able to get into my magazine, it wasn’t one of those appointments where you are drained after from having to fill dead space with meaningless conversation topics. I loved her that’s it. I also was impressed by the way all the other hairstylist interacted together.
Well for my hair I love it. It is beautiful, she did an amazing job I already booked my next appointment. It’s so great that the customer still has a place in Swanqs eyes, I was treated with respect and am very pleased with the whole experience.

I cannot say enough about this salon — what an incredible find! After a long hiatus from any hair services, yesterday was my first visit to the new location and the salon is big, bright, open and inviting. Every staff member was smiling and welcoming. Brittany did a much needed deep conditioning treatment/​cut/​style to my hair — I walked out with bouncy and refreshed hair. The experience at SWANQ is a «nordstrom style» one — I feel appreciated as a customer, listened to/​respected and the vibe is positively lovely Thanks SWANQ and Brittany for a truly relaxing, vibrant experience. Highly recommend!

Whitney saved my life! Ok. Maybe not literally, but she did fix my hair after I made the mistake of going to Great Clips. Mikie did some wax magic on my face, too.
The overall look and feel of the salon is comfortable, clean, and inviting.
I can not believe how incredibly friendly every person I met at the salon is.
I love this place and will come back again and again.

This salon is awesome! They give back to the community in so many ways, one being to give military spouses/​significant others a free makeover in preparation of the big day (homecoming). I was lucky to be selected for the makeover. The staff members were professional and nice. They worked so well as a team and made me feel very welcome. Whitney was my stylist and Jenna did waxing and make up. They both did a fantastic job! They listened to me and didn’t try to get me to do anything I didn’t want to do. I will definitely be going back and recommending the studio to my friends and family

Today, they are gving back to military wives whose husbands are deployed and I was lucky enough to be chosen. My stylist, Christina was kind. Staff here have been professional!!! They also offer make up application and waxing.

GREAT new location! It’s big, modern, and just plain awesome.
I have seen Whitney for my hair for years. I wouldn’t trust anyone else… her cutting, coloring, and styling is just amazing. She is normally very booked, so appointments should be made in advance, but she is the type of stylist that will text you if there is a cancellation to make sure you can get in sooner if you’re in desperate need of some hair love.
But I will say, all of the other stylists are all good. I just personally love Whitney. However, I would recommend this salon and all of the employees to anyone looking for a new salon. You will not regret it!

The best salon! Super friendly, community oriented, and everyone is part of a team, pitching in to give the guest an awesome experience. Love this place!
