Private Label Bridal

Quick summary: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! The consultant measured everyone as being a size or two smaller than they actually are and/​or suggested each bridesmaid loose weight so she could order their dresses smaller, which is inappropriate and wagering against girls ability to loose the weight and then get more money in alterations. The consultant also ignored my requests on the lengths of the dresses. I ended up abandoning 3 dresses, keeping 3 (regrettably) and lost the deposits on all the dresses. Such a racket!
In March 2014, I visited the store with 5 of my 6 bridesmaids. After selecting a dress a consultant began discussing the lengths of the dresses. The consultant was very concerned about making sure all of the dresses appeared to be the same length. She insisted that smaller bridesmaids needed to order above the knee dresses and that larger bridesmaids would need to order below the knee dresses, as the larger women have larger hips and thus their dress hem would sit higher. Some of the larger bridesmaids wanted above the knee dresses and one of the smallest bridesmaids wanted below the knee. I wanted everyone to be comfortable so I specified to Mendez which girls were to get above the knee and below the knee.
Later, each bridesmaid came to me individually and told me that when the consultant measured them, she told them each individually, «If you could just loose a few pounds or an inch, you could be ‘this’ size. Is it OK if I write you down for a size smaller?» At the time of the order, I also most of the sizes listed for the girls seemed too small, but I trusted the consultant measured them correctly.
Additionally, when the consultant took girls aside to measure them, pressured each girl who was to get a knee length to get a short, asking things like, «Is it OK if I just put you down for a short length?» or in one case telling a girl, «I’ll just put you down for a short.» It was again incredibly inappropriate for the consultant to go behind my back as the bride, after telling her who was to get which length, and pressure girls into changing their length.

When the dresses came in, the lengths were not what I had told the consultant to order. Also, while one bridesmaid’s dress zipped up in the back, it was still too small and a dress two sizes larger would have been much more appropriate. All dresses that were tried on barely fit and a size or two larger would have been more appropriate.
Another bridesmaid became pregnant. When she tried on her dress, it clearly did not fit, but the consultant asked us to pay for the dress anyways. The bridesmaid said that she’d wait to see what our alteration options the consultant could find for us before paying for the dress. Two days later, the consultant called me with a few options. Each option that the consultant offered had an estimated minimum cost of $ 150 on top of the cost of the dress ($ 174). The consultant then also heavily pushed for me to simply abandon the deposit on the dress and order a whole new dress at full price and pay for alterations on top of that. When I told the consultant that the money may simply not be there for expensive alterations or a whole new dress plus alterations, she had no other offers to try and work things out. Ultimately, they looked for ways to increase my expenses rather than work with me and my situation. When I emailed the owner about the terrible experience, she stated that she did not believe her consultant would ever do such a thing and that there was nothing she could do for me.

I happened upon this bridal salon by accident. I attended the Seattle Wedding Expo and found my wedding dress there and came to find out that it was from Private Label Bridal. The employee who helped me at the Wedding Expo was awesome so our experience started out well. After looking at several places for bridesmaids dresses, we decided to order them from Private Label Bridal as well. I had 7 bridesmaids, two of whom were unable to make the fitting (one lives out of state) and a junior bridesmaid who also lives out of state and was unable to make the fitting. Fortunately, everything with my wedding dress went really well. It fit, I had it altered without a problem and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, I had a TERRIBLE time with the bridesmaids dresses.
#1.) The bridesmaids dresses we chose were on sale and my bridesmaids paid around $ 155 for the dresses (I don’t remember the exact amount). A few weeks later we received a call that we were charged the incorrect amount and each bridesmaid had to pay an additional $ 20. Now, $ 20 isn’t huge, but we purchased these dresses thinking they were at a certain price point and the store should’ve eaten the cost because it was their error. It was a bit of a bait and switch which did not settle well but we had no choice because the dresses were already ordered.
#2.) I told the salon that my junior bridesmaid, my niece who lives out of state, was 9 years old and I asked if they sold the bridesmaid’s dress in a girl’s size/​style, to which the saleswoman said no. The saleswoman then suggested that we order a size 0 and that it could be easily altered to fit. I have no concept of dress sizes other than the size I wear, which I assure you is not a size zero, so I decided to buy the dress based on the recommendation from this employee. Well, the dress came and it was HUGE on my niece. Her mom took it to several seamstresses and they all said that it would cost well over the sale price to alter the dress to fit because they would have to rip apart the entire dress and remake it. We ended up not even being able to use the dress at all so they spent $ 180 for nothing.
#3.) Several of my bridesmaids’ dresses were way too big. We expected that they would need to be taken up, but several of the dresses also had to be taken in drastically and this was not due to any sort of weight loss or anything like that. What is the point of being measured for a dress if you have to spend another $ 60-​$ 80 to have it taken in so much? It almost felt like the salon was trying to make money off of the additional tailoring, although, many of the bridesmaids took their dresses elsewhere to get altered.
Again, my wedding dress was perfection, but the bridesmaids dresses were a bit of a nightmare.

Amazing bridal boutique, worth the 45 minute trip up to Everett. I got to work with Rachelle while I was there and she was fantastic, I had been to several bridal stores between Silverdale, Burien, Seattle and the eastside and this was by far my favorite. I went for the La Sposa trunk show but they had so many styles in all different fabrics to choose from. (I stopped at Romashka also and noticed everything was tulle.) I would get my dress here if I didn’t go the custom route but I highly recommend this boutique if you’re looking for a good selection and outstanding service.

Mia and the staff were just amazing. They were very helpful, honest, and fun to work with. The alterations on my wedding dress and bridesmaid dress was completed in a timely manner and looked awesome.

My review… Well bought my daughters prom dress here, at first everything seemed ok. Seamstress was going to take in and hem the dress, but more importantly, she was going to take just a bit out by the back zipper, because it was so tight the hook popped off. Went to pick it up, the zipper was way to tight and we could not even hook it. She told my daughter, «You must have gained weight» IN A WEEK? My daughter has been starving herself, which was not making me happy because it is unhealthy. But pretty much calling your customer fat, in a bridal store is not good business. Took the dress to Laura’s in Everett Mall by Macys and she did an EXCELLENT job on fixing the mistake and crappy job their seamstress did. I HAD to give a star, so I am giving it to the lady who went to Spain, and Malia who was nice.

I have mixed reviews about this place … I showed up and they said the lady who booked my appointment booked it for the day before. But they had an hour open hour. you can only try on 3 dresses at a time. The lady who helped me was soooooo sweet and helpful. I found one dress that I loved and is a possibility. Wish they had more of a variety though

I wasn’t sure about this place since I read mixed reviews. When I showed up 45 min late to my appointment they were so kind and helpful. Odie was wonderful and yes I found my dress! I would recommend my friends to shop here.

Love this place! They have tons of choices and the service is awesome. Mea (the owner) makes you feel at ease and is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She is very knowledgeable as well.

I had gone to a different places to try on wedding dresses and mind you I had went to davids bridal and got pushed to the corner LITTERLY! and another small shop in Bellingham and they were okay but I had walked into private label with no intentions to find a dress but she listened to everything I had to say and was THE NICEST person I had ever met through my whole bridal experience. so after trying on 13 different dresses I found my gown here and all the other accessories with my dress I LOVE MY DRESS! I fully recommend all brides to come here you will have the best experience you are looking for! It was not That pricey but with all the items together I spent a lot of money but in my opinion it was all well worth it

I was referred here through a friend, and I knew a few people that got their wedding dresses here! Since I already bought my wedding dress somewhere else, I was here with my bridal party to try on bridesmaid dresses. The selection was minimal as the store focuses primarily on the bride, but they did have a decent amount of long flowy gowns for my girls to try on. The lines they carried had a variety of special order colors and could easily be customized. The price point for bridesmaid dresses were also affordable at under $ 200.
I kind of got distracted by the many beautiful sparkly beaded belts and sashes they had, and wanted them all! Overall, service was great and very attentive. Odie, our consultant was very informative and patient, we all thought she was nice. The dressing rooms are very spacious (I think 4 total) but they all share one seating room so it’s communal and not very private, especially if you’re looking to have that special bridal moment with your loved ones (unless you are the only appointment).
I saw a large selection of sparkly dresses, as well as more fitted lace and mermaid style dresses too. So if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s worth checking out!

I have to preface this review by saying that my first visit to the shop was amazing! But it seemed that after they had my money, they didn’t really care much after that.
We also ordered our tuxes through them, which was awesome! They even gave the groom a free tux because we had 4 groomsmen (rent 4, get groom’s free). However, they never called for the fitting when they said they were going to… they claimed they would do ALL the work — that was not the case, we had to call and schedule everyone. They also said the guys would come in on Tuesday for the final fitting and that if anything was wrong they’d be able to exchange or whatever in time. The final fitting wasn’t until Wednesday because tux we chose was apparently really popular and they’d been having trouble getting them on time (you think they would have learned and just ordered earlier???). After doing their original measurements, THREE of the guys had to get different shirts (their sizes never changed, I am sure of it!). That meant that we had to pick up the corrections the morning of the wedding… um, stressful!!!
When I bought my dress, it was a dress from the floor, so it had been tried on by many! Totally fine, it was the right dress for me so I was happy to have it fit me so well! She was so nice and told me that since it was from the showroom floor, they would spot clean and steam it complimentary… Well when I called to schedule it, they charged me for the steaming!!! So annoyed… I also had their seamstress do a bustle on my dress… which did not hold AT ALL. And the dress still had a good 15 inches of drag in the back. What is the point of a bustle if it still drags on the floor behind you for everyone to step on!!! If I did it over again, I would NEVER have had the bustle done.
When I got it back from them, the bag it was in had broken — so they threw it away (without even telling me!!) They were going to give it to me in just a plastic bag when it was pouring down rain outside. After pitching a tiny fit, they gave me one of their «nice» bags for free (they usually charge $ 20 for it)… so that was nice!
I have mixed feelings about this place… I loved the first visit, after that it just went down hill. Such a bummer — I’ve recommend so many people :-/

I went here for my wedding gown, bridesmaids dresses and tuxes and received fantastic customer service from all the ladies who worked there. I never felt rushed at all. They have been so wonderful I invited them to my wedding!!!

I stopped by Private Label just to browse, and found my dress as soon as I walked in. They have a great selection of different (funky and classy) dresses… not your typical D. Bridal dress. The staff were very attentive and friendly and met all of my expectations. I also got my dress altered through them (I removed the train). It was ¹⁄₃ of the cost of any other alteration place and turned out perfect. I had a great experience with Private Label and I would highly recommend checking them out.

Meakara and her employees are amazing! I came here to get my dress altered, even though I purchased it somewhere else. All of the ladies were very attentive and made sure I had all the pieces I needed (who knew I needed a special kind of slip? A Princess Bride never said anything about it!). They had to measure my dress 3 times since I was in the middle of losing weight, and lost about 5 inches from the time I bought it to the time I brought it in. Ming was very calm about my weight loss, even though I was freaking out I would need to buy a new dress. She was efficient and her price is amazing! I added chest pads, a bustle and she had to take in the dress about 5 inches around some boning that was sewn in. Her price was phenomenal for all of the work I put her through!
I will definitely be coming back here for any of my formal needs!

My first time in this shop a few weeks ago, I was fairly happy with the service. Two women were in the shop and the «new» girl was assigned to help me with the other as back-​up. This was my first trip out to look at dresses so was really unsure about what I wanted. Found one that I felt good in but wasn’t 100% sure about. Jump forward to yesterday when I went in with my mom-​in-​law-​to-​be. Admittedly I did not have an appointment but the service was shameful! There was 1 bride in the shop when we arrived and I told the «new» girl I was interested in seeing the dress I had liked before, was that possible? She said sure and went to pull the dress while we looked around more. We waited patiently while the other bride was trying on dress, since we assumed that even though they have 4 dressing rooms and the same two girls working the shop, that they only worked with one at a time… After the 1^st bride left, and the senior worker when off to help someone that came in after us, the new girl got around to asking if I wanted to try the dress on. I said yes plus I had another dress that I wanted to see. Mom and I weren’t impressed with the first dress when I tried in on the second time (have found way better dresses and it just didn’t make the cut any more). We both like the second dress I tried on a lot better but it was a brides maids dress and very blue. Mom explained what we liked and asked the girl if there was another dress like it but in the bridal area. The girl came back with a completely different style of dress. Uh… no. When we explained more, she came back with more brides maids dresses. Mind you, there was no language barrier because she was a petite white girl… So mom went to look and see if she could find what we were looking for. Meanwhile the girl wandered off to go help another customer and completely forgot about me. Didn’t even say good-​bye when we walked out the door after I had helped myself to try on another dress. Will not be going back!
Tip to the new girl… if someone comes back in a second time, pay attention to them! They came back so they are interested in buying from your shop even if they might take time in finding the right dress.

I loved the service, the dress and the price. The store is small and cozy and you get all the attention and help you need to choose your dress. The owner is the nicest lady! Very helpful and not pushy. The prices are unbelievably affordable for designer dresses. I got a new designer wedding! dress for under $ 200 (I got it in December 2009). If you are a bargain shopper or on a tight budget for your wedding– you must check this place out. I am so happy I did. I would not be able to afford my dress if I had to buy it anywhere else.
