Called to have tires put on my Harley. Took the bike along with the tires to the shop. Got a quote for $ 250 from Chris at the front desk to instal. A few hours later he calls me back telling me that his tech is yelling at him for taking this job… Tells me the tires are «pancakes» and that they aren’t safe. Fine. Then he tells me that they’ll do the job but it’s gonna cost $ 50 more. I told him I’d take my bike and my tires and come back with new tires. I had to explain this to him 4 or 5 times bc all he wanted me to do was sign off on the added cost so they could finish the job. When he finally understood that I did not want to go through with the installation he told me it would be $ 40 bc they had the bike on the lift… Are you fucking kidding me. I told them I’m not paying them for that when the should’ve called me before they put the bike up. He said ok, we still need to charge you for the tubes. I refused that cost as well… Long story short… They have the worst customer service, the guy I dealt with didn’t know what he was doing and then tried his hardest to close a sale after giving me all his drama about how terrible the tires were and how pissed off his mechanic was.

I am sorry but my experience with those people suck the only salesman there are OK is John and the great mechanic there is Carlos the rest to me was suck I got I new bike there from them and the guy was running the finance there was on such rush for u to sign the papers did not even explain to me any thing like the warranty stuff like that just a bad reception I would not recommend my friends there at all !

Im a bit surpised by the reviews here… not quite certain what people are expecting. This is a motorcycle shop — its not Nordstrom or The Apple Store. Going in with that frame of mind, I came out perfectly satisfied. Sales, financing and parts staff were all very approachable and friendly. Going in as a first time motorcycle rider and complete newbie, I was worried I would feel out of place — but they instantly adapted and treated me respectfully nonetheless. They are a high volume dealer, so as expected, I needed to initiate some follow-​up thru the sales process occasionally, but again — I expected this.
I’ve been to their other shops as well (in Arlington and Beverly) and found the staff at these locations equally good. The staff for the safety/​driving school in Beverly is especially great!

I’m so surprised by the number of poor reviews here. I realize that everyone has different experiences and expectations, and my numerous experiences with these guys have all been great.
I’ve purchased two motorcycles over the last several years from these guys, one used and one brand new. The used bike was a yamaha V-​Star that was in excellent shape, and priced fairly. Zev and Frank Doering are both great, easy to work with, and are good listeners. They helped me find exactly what I was looking for, and I think we worked out a fair deal on both.
We always store our motorcycles there over the winter, and have always had good experiences with their service department, which we’ve found to be responsive and honest.
The guys in the accessories department take the time to provide help, and never make me feel rushed.
All in all, I would have a hard time going somewhere else if I had to. I really feel like this is a good organization, with helpful and friendly folks working there. Maybe some of the sales guys are pushy — I don’t know. If you don’t want someone pushy, I recommend you ask for Frank Doering by name. He listens to what you want, and helps you find it. When you find it, he tries to sell it to you. If you don’t want it, just say no. He’ll get the message.
The ONLY reason I didn’t give five stars was that when we bought a brand new Yamaha FZ-​09 there recently, the guy who was delivering the bike to us obviously didn’t know much about it. It IS a brand new model, new triple cyl engine from yamaha, pretty much new everything… but still, I think he should have done his homework — at least on how to start it and get into the underseat storage. But this experience, with a single individual, is not enough to sour me on the whole place.

Tried to return a part that was brand new with the sticker still on it. I was past the 25 day return policy because I was hit by an SUV while on my bike, broke my back and almost died a week after making the purchase. The manager made no effort to bend the rules for me. Not even when I offered to pay a 50% restocking fee. This was the definition of terrible customer service. Never come to this place, horrible service.

So let me start by saying this was my time purchasing a bike, and Parkway Cycle took great care of me!
I had the great fortune to have Frank as my salesman. He explained the bikes to me, made sure I was comfortable with what I was getting, understood what I was getting myself into, and helped me secure a price that I was happy to pay for my ZX636. If I ever have questions in the future he will be the first person I call and that is not a relationship I expected to have with a salesman.
Since my bike was used, Parkway discovered a couple parts that needed to be replaced in order to pass inspection. While this process took a little longer than I would’ve liked (~2 weeks), Frank was in constant contact with me, letting me know constantly (literally almost everyday) where the parts were and when I could expect the work to be done. He saw how excited I was, and walked my through the entire process up to the point where I had the bike dropped off at my house. I could not be happier with the customer service I received. It is unfortunate that others had such tough times, because my experience was great.
I also bought some merchandise through Gus in parts, and he provided incredible service as well. He made sure everything fit perfectly (even my helmet that I purchased somewhere else) and gave me the best prices I could find anywhere. So far I have purchased gloves, jacket, and back protector through Parkway and I’m sure I’ll be back soon!
I cannot speak to getting repairs as I mostly dealt with sales staff, but my experience was incredible and I highly recommend Parkway. Thanks again to Frank and Gus for helping me get exactly what I wanted. A job well done.

STAY AWAY! Cannibals! My experience was so poor, it borders on criminal!
I had Parkway winterize my bike for me a few years ago and it worked out fine. Then the bike sat for a few years and I sent it back to get ‘road ready’. When I brought it in, I was promised the moon, but like many others, when I called to get answers, it was hard to get through. After calling all winter, I finally had to show up to talk to someone and asked to see the manager who took my bike in. He had been fired and no one knew what was up with my bike! Then they told me that replacement front end brakes for my bike were hard to find. What? I didn’t need front end brakes! Oh yes I did, because now my bike doesn’t have them! I immediately had them tow my bike to a small motorcycle shop that I trust and found out my back seat was missing too!
In short, they took parts from my bike to satisfy other orders leaving me with a big bill to replace these hard to find parts (1986 Shadow). Stay the freak away because they are quick to screw you because some other fool is walking in the door right behind you and they don’t need loyalty.

I used to recommend this dealership because the shop has very good mechanics. I have two large displacement Honda sportbikes and bring them here for the service I cannot do myself. In the past I had been very satisfied with the work they did on my big Hondas (Blackbird, Rune and ’08 liter bike). But my last experiences just turned me off. Poor communication, service desk lies, inconvenience and excessive charges.
Remember that Parkway is under the same ownership as the bandits at 128 Cycles and Greater Boston Motorsports (and they own another shop or two). GBM suckered me and reneged on a promise to refund a warranty if I did not use it within the year. Timely requested a refund and got a «no». I remember trying to deal with the global owner and he offered me a discount on a new bike — what hammer head, like he’s going to give my money back by reducing the price from list!
Basically, though the mechanics are good, go to North Reading or Quincy dealerships and get better treatment.

Do yourself a favor and KEEP LOOKING. It is not worth doing business with these people or any dealership in the New England Powersports Family.
Parkway Cycle is a f***n joke.
First off, went in to shop around and find a new bike for my trade. I wanted something more comfortable than my current bike which I owned for 7 years. I found a great bike, or so I thought…
let me start with this I have been riding for 17 years, dirt bikes, sport bikes cruisers, you name it, I have riden it.
So, I went ahead and purchased a used bike which was almost and even exchange for my current bike. Parkway prides themselves in their 100 point inspection upon releasing any used bike, SCAM. Upon leaving with my new bike the clutch burnt out in the first 35 miles of riding it. I have NEVER burnt out a clutch before and I was riding this on the highway trying to get it home. Well, Parkway tells me it was my fault because only the operator can burn out the clutch. However, there was a previous owner. The report from the tech said, «Tech found clutch adjuster nut tight, when nut is to tight, clutch doesn’t fully disengage and causes a burn out of the clutch.» Normally, this is something I would check before riding my bike. But, I was picking this up from a dealership who was supposed to check this in their 100 point inspection right? Well, the bike didn’t even make it home so I was unable to check the clutch nut myself.
After fighting with Parkway for over a week about the repair they said they would meet me halfway, another BS call by them. If it was not their mistake why would they even offer to cover some of the cost.
After some time I finally had the clutch repaired in which they said if I rode the same way it would burn out again. Well, 12,000 miles later this season the clutch is still in excellent condition and only needed minor adjustment due to milage.
Do yourself a favor and don’t buy from these scam-​artists, there is plenty of other dealerships w out here who will go the extra mile for you. Literally.
In addition to the clutch going. I found a fewother things wrong with the motorcycle when i finally got it home. The bike needed a new oil filter, a carb tuneup, and get this the tire pressure was 50% less than what the proper inflation is. So tell me this what is in the 100 point inspection? NOTHING, its complete BS the dealership tells you in order to make a sale.
Parkway Cycle is in the business of turning used bike around faster than they come in. Literally, Parkway wanted me to sign my motorycle title over before the one I was purchasing was even ready to ride to begin with. REALLY!!! Had I done that there would have been no leverage on my part once that slip was signed.
SAVE YOURSELF LOTS OF HEADACHES AND BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I went here looking to find out a bit more about the larger (125cc) scooters. My wife has a 50cc and I was wondering if I should go with that or go bigger. I had no intention to buy this day, and I told them that up front. It was like dealing with a used car dealer. The guy knew almost nothing about scooters– told us that one were looking at was extra special because it had a center stand (nearly every scooter has a center stand!), and when I asked him a question, he told us that we probably knew more about scooters than he did.
He tried talking me into buying a used scooter that had just come in, and then came back to say that it had been sold, but he had THIS one, and wow, what a steal. Bait-​and-​switch, anyone? I still had no intention to buy, but was curious about what financing options they had available. We waited 20 minutes while they ran my credit, and then he did that thing where they go talk to their sales manager, then come back several times. The first time, he came back and said «I can give it to you for $ 2000, but that’s not nearly as low as I can go. You know what I mean?» I told him that no, I didn’t know what he meant. I said that I wasn’t interested in negotiating, I was just looking to find out about financing, and how much the scooter would be. He went back to talk to his sales manager, and then brought out another deal. We said we were leaving and he brought out his sales manager, who was another smarmy used car salesman.
This place did one thing very very well. It made me realize how phenomenal the customer service was at Scooters Go Green, in Boston. Worlds better! They actually ride scooters themselves there! Do yourself a favor– don’t even bother with Parkway, or any of the other 5 locations they have.

Went here with a friend to look for a cbr 600. Told the sales person that the limit was 5000 and he made us wait for him while he talked to his coworkers. After they finish talking he took us up stairs to where all the pending sales bike were and showed us a red cbr and said price was 6k and there was no cheaper bike and if my friend wanted it he will pull this bike (someone had already put a deposit on it) for him. The only catch was he had to put 500 down, which was no problem for my friend. We went downstairs to start the paperwork and he left for the first time and came back bringing bad news saying that my friend need co signer which wasn’t a big issue, then he left again only to come back and suggest why not just get a brand new bike for 10k. He said this with the new news that my friend needs to put down 3500 deposit either way but my friend couldn’t do that so the guy left again to then come back with another bag of bs and said that he had given us the wrong bike price and that the bike my friend wanted was actually 7000 but he would give it to him for 6500. He tried to convince my friend that it was a good deal and the guy who was gonna buy it was gonna get it for 7100. After the sale guy realize he wasn’t going to make a sale on this bike, he then showed us a cheaper cbr which wasn’t that much cheaper. We ended up leaving and laughing at the sales person on how stupid he was to try to trick us. So my main problem and confusion here is that one if you guys value your customers why are you selling a bike that someone else is already thinking is theirs? Another thing was if you was gonna sell it for 7100 why would you want to sell to us for cheaper because I no sales ppl work on commission. Also if there was a cheaper bike why didn’t u show us that one in the first place. Buyers beware lots of tricks and games going on here

I had to take a moment to revise my rating. The guys from parkway gave me a phone and stated that they would repair my bike for free. This is my local motorcycle dealership so i’m glad we can be on good terms again. I will continue to get my parts and repairs done by parkway. I must admit they do have quick repair times unlike a few other i have called. So if you’re looking for a bike this summer swing down to parkway i’m pretty sure you will find something of interest

Let me just get THAT off my chest! Ever since traveling to Italy, I have been obsessed with buying a scooter; preferably a Vespa. Having done some research into what would be right for me (nothing too fast, 35 mph, something to scoot around Boston, park on sidewalks, no license plate necessary, 50cc), I soon realized between my paying bills and student loans, my dream Vespa would be out of my immediate price range, unless I was willing to buy one used or purchase a different brand — new.
Fast forward to last July when I was laid off my job. I received a nice sum in my severance package and didn’t hesitate to re-​invest that money in my own joy. I immediately cashed the check and made my way over to Parkway Cycles. Luckily, I hadn’t read the reviews here, and I have a strong aversion to sales people so that might have stopped me from going there, but it was in my neighborhood and an easy commutable distance so off I went!
Long story short — my scooter is a DREAM come true! I purchased a KYMCO (rose color). I received a walk through of necessary accessories (helmets, gloves, jackets, etc) and a discount for purchasing so much at once. Parkway Cycles even supplied me (and my new scooter) with a ride to the RMV and I get infrequent calls for maintenance checks.
The service was fast, friendly and informative. As it has been a warn winter, I have been riding my new KYMCO without incident — I even picked up the Chinese food Christmas Eve! My scooter gave me the freedom I have been dreaming of — I am no longer a slave to the MBTA and I can run errands around town or meet up with friends at a moment’s notice. I especially LOVE cutting in and out of traffic as well!
They have a lot of other great toys at Parkway — four wheelers, jet boats, snow mobiles! I run with a rough and tumble crowd and I was glad to share with them the service, professionalism and courtesy Brad has shown me.
If you are tired of mucking around in a sea of shady characters and pushy salesmen, just go to Parkway and ask for «Brad,» he is very polished and knows his stuff. He made my dreams come true!
****Just read the reviews — wow. OK, I bought my scooter there, but I haven’t had it serviced yet so I’ll keep you posted.

I just got off the phone with GBM and without hesitation was told «bring your whole bike down anytime before 4 and we will replace your tube while you wait» I was even given an estimate of $ 60 with the cost of the tube. After I hung up I remembered Parkway was closer to my house so I called and asked the same question and was told «well maybe if you take your tire off and bring it down we might be able to do that if we have the tube, hold on let me get you to parts» at this point I just hung up since A. I had no interest in taking my rear tire off and B. I had already told him the size I needed, he was going to be the one doing the work, why would I be the one doing the leg work with the parts dept? I am paying you to do the «whole» service and now not o ly do I need to remove my own wheel but also find my own parts? Maybe I should make sure I dialed the right number because this would have been the type of answer I would have expected to get from a guy in his own garage that I found off craigslist.

went there over the weekend to look at scooters. We were there about 5 minutes when homeboy Chris pounced on us.
Very pleasant guy (said he had 5 kids) but got 3 phone calls while we were chatting (mind you — I was going to BUY today) and I hear repeatedly ‘Yo man, Im working here yo — Ill hook up with you later’- I mean you HAVE to answer your phone during a potential sale? AND sound like PDiddy? lol
He was pushy. Told me I looked silly on one of the other scooters I liked because ‘I was big’ (Im 5ft 4) — huh?!
I felt railroaded. Chris kept pushing the Yamaha c3 scooter for me– I wasnt feeling it– it wasnt pretty– Didnt like the color (red) and there wasnt any style. I couldnt put my finger on it at the time but he kept askinf if I wanted to ‘wrap this up’.
When I wanted to check if the scooter could hold two people (hey you never know I might need to pick up my son sometime with it) he told my son ’ If I saw you riding on the back of this with your mom, you would look like a fool, yo’
NOT the way to make a sale dude. Your tone and attitiude might work with the under 30 crowd but ‘yo’ chill out a bit. A few expletives too– were you trying to get ‘on my level’ lol?
Took his card and decided to visit GBM in Arlington and bought a scooter there the next day. Same company you know…
Someone needs to send him to customer service 101 and I think he would be really good at selling– just tone it down!

Horrible. In the market for a new bike which reminded me of how horrible my experience was with them when I had my last bike. Where to start…
I dropped it off because it was stalling out at high speeds and it needed to be serviced. Long story short, it took them over 3 months to fix it. Thats crazy. Cost 1300, much more than they estimated. On top of that, after called and getting the run around for the last 3 weeks they had it, when I finally got it, it was sitting outback (outside) soaked because it had rained that morning. When I took it for a test ride, it rattled like crazy which it didn’t do before.
If they knew I was coming to pick it up the next day and it had been sitting in the rain for 3 months, you would think they would at least put it inside or dry it off or something that night. Nope.
This is the closest place for me to buy a new bike but they lost a sale because of how horrible their service was in the past. I would rather drive to NH.

I’m a bit disappointed at the reviews I found on this place. My husband and I stopped by this place on the way home and were quite excited about the prices. I didnt wait for help but had to ask someone for assistance, the sales person was a bit friendly but not really interested in helping. When I kept asking questions and he saw that I was leaning towards to buying a bike, then we caught his attention and he was willing to assist us. I noticed the bikes that we were looking at, had rusty chains and scratches, he had told us it will go through maintenance once we bought it, however, my question is, why not get it fixed up first and make it look presentable to buy.
Through my curiousity before getting too excited, I decided to do some research and read reviews. The one or two reviews with 4+ stars you know were written by employees who worked there and the rest as consumers with bad experiences gave it VERY low stars. I was going to buy our bikes there, which would have been three for my daughter, husband and myself, but now it will be none. We willl definitely go elsewhere due to the reviews being low for the past year. If there is a new management team, apparently they need more training because there are many unsatisifed customers!

Wow. Between it taking almost a month to get my bike out of winter storage, and picking it up dirty to hide the scratches that they put on it, and the poor customer service not telling me what was going on, I have to give them a 2 star.
The only reason its not a 1 star is they comped me the inspection sticker. Thanks, but I wont be using these guys again… ever. Your costing me more money than it was worth.

I concur that the service is TERRIBLE. There is many employees that are working there but they pay no attention to customers. I was laughing at how ridiculous it was, seemed like an inside joke or something to avoid customers. Its not like I was just browsing and wandering around, I was standing near sales people looking at them not wanting to interrupt their conversation about the fat chick one of them hooked up with in Revere last night. They didn’t even look up or acknowledge my existence, an awkward amount of time passed before they offered to help.
I did finally get the attention of one guy who seemed to know what was up and got me what I wanted and out the door. I really felt unwelcome and like I was asking too much for them to assist me. I haven’t had my bike serviced there and prob. won’t. There is a $ 55 a day storage fee too so beware.
On a side note, park your bike in the far part of the lot or when you come outside people will be checking it out and sitting on it!

This place is the worst motorcycle shop I have ever been too! The service here is so bad I don’t know where to begin. If you want to even attempt to speak to someone don’t bother calling because no one picks up the phone. I called over 8 times without an answer and if you speak to the receptionist don’t bother leaving a message because that’s a lie that they will not call you back.
OK, So if you decide to actually drive to them to actually speak to someone this is another adventure on itself. I went in at 9:45AM on a weekday «Friday» and it took 45 minutes for someone to even notice me. WTF are the service guys doing is beyond me? Then they must have the most computer illiterate guys working behind a desk in history. No lie took the guy 15 minutes to type my info. Once this all done i finally told the guy I wanted a tune up «carbs cleaned, oil change, etc’ which was estimated at $ 469.00 which I thought was a little high but I’ll live. 3 days pass without a call or anything. So I had to drive in because once again couldn’t get through on the phone and had to wait another 30 mins in the service room to get noticed just to find out what they said was going to be a $ 469.00 job is now $ 1,580.00. I almost puked.
Here is the most disturbing part. I have to rewind a couple days. To get my bike there I needed a battery. It was 130 dollars thorough them went across the street to PEP boys and it was $ 50 dollars. You do the math. Brought the battery back and gave it Don to trickle charge it overnight.
OK, now back too where I almost puked. So I looked on the recommended fixes and I saw a battery on the list for $ 130.00. When I confronted the guy that there was a brand new battery on the bike and he was the one that charged it he didn’t know what to say. He started talking to the mechanic and going back and forth to then find out that «Oh the battery is fine» No Shit I said it’s brand new.
Obviously the mechanics are trained to lie. This place has no integrity, the quality is horrible and I would never will never go back. It’s a complete scam.
So long story short I told them I’ll get a second appraisal.
