Lowell Riverfront Park

This is a pretty nice walking park. On occasion one can see Herons and even bald eagles in the taller trees.
Be wary of the mud and wet areas so unless summer don’t wear your best footwear
There are two lots one near the boat ramp (more or less gone due to storm damage) where they have disabled capable restrooms (2) and a larger gravel parking lot to the north also of the road.
I suggest to head northwest from the north gravel lot and follow the trail. It goes for about 3 miles and one gets some nice views. A pretty good cycling trail as well

This is a lovely little park and trail alongside the Snohomish River in Everett, close enough to I-​5 that you can see/​hear it but not so much that it deters from the many things the park has to offer: lovely plants, wildlife, a nice little walk, and even some wetland restoration.
We walked the full 1.6-mile paved trail (the last of which following a sharp bend to the left got into some sort of development project… turn around when you smell the skunk cabbage).
We also took one of the little side trails to check out the wetlands that have been restored for natural stormwater remediation… very cool. The wetlands have lots of cattails and were home to dozens of redwing blackbirds doing their springtime theatrics. Redwing blackbirds rule… the males get to a high spot like the top of the tallest cattail and sing «blurp blorp tweeeeeeeeze» which translates roughly to «look how handsome I am!» So fun to watch.
We also came across a couple of garter snakes sunning themselves in a warm early spring afternoon. I was too busy squealing with delight to get my phone out and take a picture of either of them before I scared them into the brush. Ranger Rick I ain’t.
On the side near the river, we were impressed by the many native plants and trees that I assume were planted and maintained by the Parks Department, and we saw a river otter and lots of ducks around the river. There are signs of beavers toward the end of the trail too. There are also some benches and a grill for cookouts.
This is a gorgeous spot and we will be back for sure.

Nothing special at all. I believe it is go for those who like to have a slow walk with dogs or jog? But there is no entertainment facilities at all. Guess most people will feel bored in this place.

This is a great walk, extremely dog friendly, nature and civic educational signs and easy access & parking.
This is my number 1 weekend corgi walk spot. I’m here at least once a week year around. The park is accessible via the historical Lowell neighborhood or via the «back road» from Snohomish (about a 10 minute drive from downtown Snohomish). The parking lot is gravel and can pool water in some spots. There is plenty of parking and I always feel safe leaving my vehicle for an hour or so.
This park is extremely dog friendly. Free dog waste bags and a trash can every ¼ mile or so throughout the trail. There is never dog waste sitting around this park because it is hard not to clean up and toss when they make it this convenient. My corgi loves this park. There is plenty of grass, trails, botany and other dogs.
The trail starts out from the parking lot a bit to the east where the boat launch is at. It travels along side the river for about a mile or so. During this time there is trails that branch off to the storm collection eco system that the city engineered. This is cool to see after or during a rainy day. Read the nature educational signs to understand what you’re seeing and it will be meaningful. The trail will eventually lead you to an open space where the city tried to build. There is a half completed road that goes from the 41^st st exit (broadway/​41^st st. on I-​5) and dead ends here. There is a construction site (with a porta potty) with heavy machinery and a lot of nothing. Ignore this and hang a right. This will take you to the rest of the trail. This remaining portion will lead you over a bridge and along side a marsh. It will eventually end up near downtown going towards the bus/​train station. From here, just turn your self around and enjoy the walk back.
There are a lot of bike groups who use this trail. Be careful! Most of them are nice and ring their bells or say something. However, there are a few grumps who get angry that you’re on their path and are passively aggressive to you and your dog or kids (Welcome to Seattle! Just kidding…).
Overall, four stars. This is only because this trail can be a little bit crowded some times, has a lot of spandex wearing bike riders, is a bit of a short walk until you reach the mediocre urban portion of the trail and isn’t a circuit. I know, first world issues! Just go, you’ll love it.

Friendly fun and I even saw seals. I love taking all my young ones and my big one and biking. Very bike friendly to training wheels or just walking. Geese and animals a plenty. I like doggies beibg walked so friendly place. Porta john at Spencer island bridge if you need it.

I always go down to Lowell river park and I love it’s natural beauty and convenient location. The walk through the swamps is very relaxing and is a great place to see marsh birds as well as some songbirds. The cedar waxing here are always my favorite as they remain on eye level instead if high up in the trees. Bald eagles frequent the river and much of the area is off leash for dogs. Can’t wait to get back down here to take some pictures when the sun returns!

There is a nice and recently repaved trail here with BBQs and picnic benches along the way. South end of the trail has a boat launch which is tidally influenced, so check tide charts if you plan to launch. The north end meets up with the 41^st street Front Porch project which is currently closed to cars but peds and bikes can explore. If you’ll be there near sunset, be sure to have bug spray or zapping rackets on hand. Vampire-​hummingbirds (aka mosquitos) come out in force!

This park is really great for people who want to get in their exercise while enjoying nature. The trail is flat and is a very easy walk. Part of the trail is paved and part of it is dirt and sand. It is great for bike riders as well. This park does not have things for kids to play on but if your kid likes to walk or ride bikes it’s perfect. There are picnic tables along the trail but not a lot. You will have to carrying your things a ways if you are picnicking. There is a boat ramp as well. There is also a restroom at one end of the trail but it is fairly primitive but will do when you need it. This is a dog friendly park. There is a water fountain for dogs and a dog station for when your doggie does his business. Lowell Riverfront Park has a great view of the Snohomish River. I love this park and I hope you do too.

Starting with the boat launch at the adjacent Rotary Park, Lowell Riverfront Trail runs for almost 2 miles along the west bank of the Snohomish river. There is also a man made waterfall and two ponds full of rushes and cattails. You can fish from the river bank for salmon (coho, chinook, sockeye, pink & chum) or watch heron, hawks, eagles, ducks, geese, red winged blackbirds and marsh wrens. A pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks is a great place to watch trains and gives access to the quaint, quiet Lowell neighborhood, where you can visit the café in the Riverview Market for a meal, a beer and a great view of the park.
By the way, the map here is wrong, the park entrance is at the bend of the river just to the west.

Not to be confused with the Lowell Park Off Leash Dog Park and Park, the Lowell Riverfront Park & Trail are just off of Lenora Street. This is the perfect walk through nature on a nice paved trail — yes, I know what some of you are thinking, but I can still enjoy nature without walking through the mud! Anyway, the entire walk is 1.75 miles, which is perfect if you are just starting your 5K training and are not quite up to the 3.2 miles, or whatever it is. Lot of folks bring their dogs, which is nice, it’s right along the Snohomish River. You usually see some birders as well. There are two reasons I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 — because I think any walkable area in nature deserves 5 stars — the first is this isn’t really a trail I would come to and walk alone, it’s very wooded/​brambly in areas and secondly, there is a lot of construction going on because they are building a mixed use center along here — which hopefully they will do right, because it would be a shame to mess up such a pretty trail along the river.
