Howarth Park

This place is awesome! Very beautiful and peaceful walking trail. Flowing creek along trail. Nice parking and there are tables and benches to enjoy the view and even eat a meal if you wish! I would highly recommend this park

Nice, quiet park. A great place to bring your dog. You can often hear and see seals at the lower park. Short surrounding woodland trails and a nice picnic and play area at the upper park.

I love this hole in the wall park! I go often! I have not had a problem finding parking. Guess the time makes a big difference. I usually go after 4pm during the week. The park was busy only one day out of all the times I’ve gone. I mainly go to walk my dog, but it gives me a very calming & peaceful scenery. A clean park & I’ve met some great people there. There is a beach, but it’s closed for bridge construction right now. The playground area for the kiddos looks fun & clean. Also, clean bathrooms on site. If you go & see a short chick walking a black & white lab mix… Come say Hi! :-)

A hidden gem. Even though beach access is closed, there is a great overlook of the Sound.

19 July 2015, on arrival at this location found that beach access is blocked until Fall 2015 due to structural concerns about the bridge over the railroad tracks. Beach access without use of the bridge is blocked by high chain link fences. This off lease beach site is closed and not accessible until after the city repairs the pedestrian overpass at the railway crossing. Posted closure signs state this area closed until Fall 2015.

No parking.
Will update my review later when we can finally get to the park. Spent 20 minutes stuck in the narrow parking lot, witnessed almost everyone get into an accident & still no parking. However, another example of a poorly planned Snohomish county Off Leash Dog Park.

This is the favorite park for my dogs and I. The off-​leash beach is great, not over crowded. There are trails to walk.
The only down side is that the trails are not off-​leash and sections of the dog portion of the beach are rocky. But the dogs don’t seem to care a bit. They always have a blast.

Unilocalers, you let me down. How did this dumpy park get four stars? Went to check this place out today with the dog. There are a few parking areas, but no maps anywhere showing where the trails are or where they go.
We took the «trail» down to the beach from the playground area and encountered some suspicious teenage characters in and near the woods. The stairs down into the ravine were as slick as snot and led us to a broken/​closed boardwalk. We went down and around and eventually back up the hill to the railroad bridge and down to the beach.
The beach is supposedly the off leash area, but the signs are confusing. It’s small and the chain link fence does not extend far enough to prevent dogs from running out onto the tracks. The water is accessible only by climbing over rocks tagged with pink graffiti. On our walk back to our car, we noticed that someone had done doughnuts in their car on the grassy lawn, leaving muddy tire marks all over. Real classy.
I’m giving two stars because we went on a cloudy day in December. Maybe, just maybe, the views on a sunny day make up for the trashy aspects of this park.

This is a great sandy beach. Its fun to walk over the train tracks to the bridge and down the spiral staircase. The kids found tons of little critters (baby lobster, baby eel, couple types of sand worms, crabs, clams) and nice water for wading.
We were there on a Monday at 10:30 on a sunny day and the place was already hopping! Packed when we left at 2:30.
The big downsides are that lower parking lot (the one closest to the beach) fills up quickly. There are 3 flights of stairs up to the bridge, then a long spiral staircase down, then you have to cross big rocks and logs to get onto the beach. When you are toting a bunch of beach stuff and a lot of little kids its a process to get down there.
Also, a warning, the bathrooms are VERY far away, waaaaay up in the upper parking lot and they are filthy and broken. The toilet was in a continual flush when we used it. No lights either. Our rule was that if you had to use the bathroom it was time to go home. Some people joked they used the water or the side of the trail. I’m pretty sure they were not joking though!

Was a little confused when we drove in looking for the playground. Eventually found it on the other side of the hill. Park and restroom facility was pretty nice and looked well maintained.
Park offered many trails and paths to walk along overlooking the beautiful Everett waterfront.
I did have a couple come up to me looking for the dog park that they could not find. This being my first time here I could not help them out.
We will have to come back with our dogs and continue along some of the trails.

Great park! My family and I spend a lot of time here. If you’re going to the beach, keep in mind that you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs, cross a bridge and down a spiral staircase. This wouldn’t be a problem for older kids. However, my children are 1 and 3; handling them and everything that we need is a little strain but so worth it. Gorgeous views!

Headed here today for a quick family walk. Was beautiful; wish there was more beachfront. Maybe next time we will arrive at low tide.

Best park around! I love the off leash area… Wish this one wasn’t on Unilocal… I’d like to keep it a secret, been coming here for years and it sometimes can get overpopulated. If you know when low tides are then there’s plenty room to roam about. Great beach, trails, BBQ grill, and playground! The seals enjoy it there too! Moving soon so I don’t mind sharing it now.

Decent park with a nice beach with lots of sand to run around. Surprising that this place isn’t crawling with people in the summer. Great view of the harbor and Islands.

I love this park!!! This area is gorgeous! I love everything about this place. I used to come here years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter, and today I was able to visit after 5 years. It is still gorgeous. Also I love that there are seals in the area.

A really nice hidden park. You can hear the seals bark while you take a walk along the beach. A great place to bring your dog. We will be back to explore it more thoroughly.

Warning to dog owners: not only is the off-​leash area NOT fenced in, it has very easy access for dogs to get up onto the RAILROAD TRACKS. Our dog chased after a bird and ran up the short embankment to the tracks. We got him to come back down and put him back on his leash. Within one minute a train came down the tracks. Terrifying! I cannot believe that area is not fenced off– not only for the safety of the dogs, but humans as well! A little further down the beach the tracks are closed off by a vertical wall that would be impossible for a dog to climb, but there is a good stretch where just about any dog could easily get over if they wanted. If your dog likes to run or just doesn’t listen well, I would not recommend that you let them play off leash here. We could have lost our dog.
This was our first time to the park and there was NO warning posted that the railroad tracks are easily accessible. You’d trust that if an area calls itself an off-​leash area, that your dogs will be relatively safe. Beware!
Please fence in this area! This would be an incredible spot to let your dogs play if it was safer.

Out for a drive and stumbled upon this little park. Once we left parking lot, we realized that it wasn’t so little after all. There is a nice playground complete with monkey bars, merry-​go-​round and bouncy/​wobbly toys for the kids young and old (yes I got on it too).
Just past the playground were the bathrooms. They were functional but the standing water on ALL over the floor made me (really) drag my feet on the grass when I finished «doing my business.»
There are steps (steep ones) that lead to the beach, but ignoring the steps and staying in the actual park you will also find picnicking area complete with nice tables and BBQ grills.
With the exception of the waterlogged bathrooms this is a very clean and kid friendly park. If we are in the area again, we will definitely return.

It is beautiful here!!! By far, the best park I have been to since I have lived in the Seattle area for the past 5 years. If you park in the upper parking lot by the playground, you can walk through a beautiful forest on a trail with built in stairs and bridges while the creek babbles away on the side of the trail. After you reach the area to access the beach, you walk across a sky bridge over some railroad tracks which ends on a tall platform overlooking a very large beach and a beautiful view of the Puget Sound and islands. About 11 sets of winding steps take you down to the sand where you can either go left or right. Either way, there is usually plenty of beach for everyone and it isn’t all packed the way most other beaches are. It is fairly peaceful and relaxing. My kids love to watch the trains go by and it is nice to either walk the beach or just sit and look at the water.
