The Teacher:

Faith Laux is an Illinois certified Spanish teacher in Winnetka by day and a dynamic adult Spanish teacher by night. Faith learned Spanish to have more meaningful adventures as she traveled. Her Spanish has taken her to gypsy caves in Southern Spain, cloud forests in Costa Rica and remote villages in Chile. She has taught Spanish for over eight years.

The Method:

Faith teaches using the newest, brain-​friendly, language acquisition methods also known as teaching with Comprehensible Input (CI).

She also incorporates Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) into her classes.

This is an engaging way to involve her students in class. They create stories together about what interests her students the most… themselves. Students are the main characters in their own fun and creative stories.

No long vocabulary lists. No rote memorization. No grades and no tests.

These lively classes are structured to help students acquire and use the 100 most frequently used words in Spanish.

The Students:

Beginning level classes are designed for novice level students. That is to say, complete beginners as well as students who took Spanish long ago but can only remember a few words and phrases.

Intermediate conversation classes are suited for people who have a solid base of the language and are looking to fine tune their ability to speak using the past tense and with more ease and sophistication.
