I will probably update this review after I take on the repair myself, but here is the initial review. I went here after Lapin (Apple only repairs) recommended them. I took my Sony Vaio laptop which is primarily used for writing, not a whole lot else on it, bounced and had the dc jack banged up. I couldn’t get the power supply to sit properly & charge. The slacker behind the desk looked at it for about 15 seconds and said that was about the 2^nd worst thing I could break. He then went on to list a diagnostics charge (not sure why when clearly could see the problem), a labor & a parts charge (which seemed overpriced for parts). He said they could however pull everything off there for me if I was going to get a new computer. I explained I wasn’t really in spot for new computer at this time. He just sort of shrugged. I went home feeling defeated and started poking around online. A part is anywhere from $ 5 to $ 15 dollars and the most labor intensive it all seems is taking out all screws (no soldering required). I ordered part, but in the meantime I also saw a quick fix that involved taking a pair of tweezers to the prongs & ground in the jack. That worked and my computer is now charging though the cord still sits loosely in the Jack. I will try to repair when parts come. I’m not all that computer knowledgable, but I’m fairly handy with a screw driver for a middle aged woman. How do businesses like these survive? Maybe I’ll sound like a crabby old lady but there was a time when you had something of quality and still useable, you just didn’t chuck it in a trash pile. You took your nice shoes or belt to a cobbler when they needed to be repaired. You took your quality wool coat to a seamstress for a repair. There are no more skilled repairmen, only slackers whose solution is that if it’s over 3 years old it’s now obsolete. It’s a disgusting and discouraging thought.
