I got a lot of crap from Evanston friends for my 3-star review of Curt’s Café, so I went back. After being served an almond milk/sunflower butter/banana smoothie that was DEFINITELY made with dairy products(don’t ask how I know, just use your imagination) that were not supposed to be there, I’m sticking by my rating… and not going back.

Used a Groupon and delighted for the introduction to this cute café and it’s goals. Stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon, ordered a carrot/ginger soup to go(excellent flavor with a little kick) and ate their quinoa/sweet potato«chili» with a ½ tuna sandwich. Both were excellent and include ½ blueberry muffin. Appreciated the mix/match dinner ware and the daily specials plus a permanent menu. Interior clean, spacious and«early Goodwill» with several table & chair options and sofas around for laid back coffee and conversation. A cute little child’s corner up front by the window and plenty of street parking makes this an easy stop. Limited hours but all in all a good option when I’m in the area. Portion size on the soups were very generous… they could cut back and save a little on product. My ½ tuna was overstuffed also and could be reduced in size for bigger profit. My only suggestion would be to offer crackers with the soup and a dill pickle spear with the sandwich. I will be returning.

THISIS A TRAINEECAFE for at-risk youth. I am so glad they this place is established to provide additional income for at-risk teenage girls. They also offer space for political activism and community gathering. The food here is quite delicious! I got their parfait and it’s beautifully decorated with fresh fruits. yum.

There are so many things that make this place wonderful! The best panini I’ve ever had came from here and today the best gluten free brownie in the history of the world. Healthy choices and food, that is fresh and delicious. If you are a vegetarian you’ll be thrilled with choices that aren’t just salads. Also liked when I couldn’t decide on a smoothie they helped recommend one I loved! Price points are below what I would be happy to pay :) Visit Curt’s! Eat well while doing good!

This place makes a kick-butt cup of coffee! Plus they have almond and soy milk which I loved. The atmosphere of the café is pretty cool, a lot of colorful decorations, good music, and plenty of space to sit. I’m definitely a fan and I’ll be back!

A great little spot with good coffee, good people, good food and a good vibe. Nice hangout place. A wonderful alternative to Starbucks… supporting Curt’s means supporting the kids in our community. Go, you’ll be happy there!

What a find! Welcoming ambiance, delicious and healthy food, friendly staff and bonus with a great kiddie play/toy area. We got an unexpectedly relaxed breakfast experience today. And best of all this non-profit runs workshops to help at-risk youth and women prepare for the workforce. You can definitely feel good about spending your money here.

The food is healthy, creative and delicious. They did a great job on the décor– inviting and homey. Has the feel of an artisan café with a friendly and unpretentious environment. Takes a little longer to get your food, but is worth the wait. I appreciate the vegetarian options. Such a positive establishment and a great addition to the neighborhood.

I’ve had breakfast there twice now and I can’t decide which dish was better! Had the Tex mex quinoa with egg which was delicious! Next time had the breakfast kale salad with egg — outstanding! Love the vibe in this place. Relaxed atmosphere with great food. Looking forward to going back.
