History

Established in 1986.

We opened in Evanston in 1986 across the south campus of Northwestern University. We expanded in 1990 to Lincoln Park in the famous Biograpg Theatre, where the bank robber John Dillinger was shot in 1934. We then opened in Lakeview/Wrigleyville in 1999 right across the street from the Belmont El Stop. In 2010, in partnership with the University of Chicago Clarke’s expanded into the Hyde Park community. We have served over 8,000,000 trusted customers. We are heading into our 29th year in business.

Meet the Business Owner

Tom T.

Business Owner

I was born and raised in Chicago IL. I attended Fenwick HS and Northeastern University for my Baccalaureate in Business. I also attended the University of Chicago for one year studying International Relations. I worked in sales for several years before opening my first restaurant at the age of 24. I bought Clarke’s in 1994 and have owned it since then. We grew from one location to four.
