Not a bad way to kill a little time before a game. This Duck Store location is in one corner of the Moshofsky Center next to Autzen Stadium. When I recently visited, it was one of the biggest games of the season and the place was packed, almost painfully so, two hours prior to kickoff. The store is very small and they essentially direct traffic in a loop. We made it through relatively unscathed and they have a flat screen broadcasting games in the store, so at least there is a little entertainment while you wait. About half of the space is filled with registers, so once you find your merchandise, I thought the check out process was actually quite smooth. During our visit, each cashier was paired with another employee who would remove tags and labels(if that was your desire), so you could wear your new shirts, hats, etc. out of the store. Nice they were appropriately staffed for such a big event.

Perhaps it caught the corner of your eye as you made your way through the crowd towards the(ONLY!) bathroom in the Moshofsky Center during half time. Yes, that’s a miniature version of the Duck Store over there, and if you weren’t too furious about the fact that you were waiting in line to use the MEN’S ROOM(can’t they add some port-o-potties or something?!), you may have ducked in(no pun intended) to see what they had to offer. Much like the other Duck Store, you’ll find a whole bunch of overpriced Ducks memorabilia. Not that I’m complaining… being an alumni that now lives in California, I love being surrounded by so much stuff that I’m willing to shovel my money at! The only problem with this place, at least during game time, is that it is really small and cramped. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find that being in a confined space with a bunch of rowdy and/or drunk people smushing into you is almost as frustrating as waiting in line for the men’s room. If you really want to buy anything, head down to the store on campus. At least down there, people aren’t nearly as drunk and stumbly(unless, of course, it’s game day).
