Caffe Ponte Vecchio really is a ‘hidden gem’. Tucked bakc into a medical offices building near the Centennial overpass, behind Chase Village, this café offers a large selection of sandwiches, salads, breakfast items and excellent pastries, muffins, etc. Their breads come from a local bakery(Eugene City Bakery maybe? I forget) and their desserts/treats often include homemade creations like their heavenly Nanimo bars. They also have containers of food you can take to go like quinoa salad. For drinks you’ll find a number of coolers stocked with all kinds of sodas, juices and microbrews. Service is always fast and friendly, and the main area of the café has two very comfortable couches, as well as individual tables and more seating space along the window. I like to go here to work because it’s usually quiet and they have free broadband Wifi, which is a major ‘pro’ in my book. In short: good lunch spot, coffee stop or study place!
