We specialize in Trees, Shrubs, and Groundcovers. Much of what we sell is grown at our Wholesale Nursery located less than a mile away. Because we grow our own stock locally, we can assure you that your plants will thrive when you take them home and plant them.

History

Established in 1970.

In 1970 Ben and Alice Bloomer started Bloomer’s Nursery with a single greenhouse.

In the winter of 1972, a Siberian Express whipped through the area and wiped out all the plants that they had been growing to this point. But they started over and by 1978, things were looking pretty good. Ben was even able to retire from Weyerhauser where his «real» job had been.

In May of 1982, Jim Bloomer was laid off from Weyerhauser and joined his parents working at Bloomer’s. The nursery kept expanding and in 1985, Ben and Alice retired from the nursery, leaving Jim and his wife Glenda to run the place.

The nursery kept expanding. In 1997, Jim and Glenda purchased an additional 3 acre lot. Shortly thereafter Bloomer’s Nursery Retail opened at this new location.

In 2005, Jim Bloomer passed away unexpectedly. He was the heart of the nursery and will be greatly missed. But the nursery has to go on. Glenda still runs the nursery and is helped by her and Jim’s 3 children; Jenny, Jason, and Amy.
