We ordered food to go via the internet. I got there LATE and it was only partially ready. So I sat at a filthy bar and waited. After a while, a woman came around to take my payment. She said that the bar was dirty(I had not asked; she volunteered the information) because they had had a big rush of business. It looked to me like 30 seconds’ wiping with a rag would have taken care of the mess. Even though I was late, the food took about 20 minutes to be ready. When it was brought by the indifferent woman, I took it and left, having already paid. I got to the destination, way out in the boondocks. We discovered that our $ 17 steak was not in the order. Way to far to drive back, so I telephoned. The manager was expecting my call. He said he would send me some coupons to make up for the mistake. I insisted that he credit my VISA account for the steak, and he said he would. That was three days ago, and the bank still shows the full charge on my account, with no credit for a steak we never got. Even if/when the credit is posted by this restaurant, I have to say«Do not patronize this place» because their service is so very bad. Update: OK, fourth day afterward the credit for the missing food was posted to my account. I still advise against eating there because of the terrible service.

Yeah, it’s a chain restaurant. But if you’re looking for a sit-down meal after 9 pm in Española, this is just about your only option(it’s open until 10 weeknights, and until 11 pm on Friday and Saturday). Honestly, though, of all the Chili’s I’ve been to around the country, this is probably the best. They do a good job on the food here, and the atmosphere and layout are better than most I’ve seen in this chain. While most of the food is about what you’d expect from a Chili’s/Applebee’s/TGI Friday kind of place, the baby back ribs are a real standout: truly excellent ribs by any standard, with wonderful smoky flavor and great BBQ sauce choices. Much better ribs than you’re likely to get in a more pretentious, higher priced, non-chain restaurant. The bar here is a hopping, friendly, often boisterous sports bar(can get very loud during big games), with lots of TV screens showing all the games. Great margaritas, and great drinks overall.

We told the waitress that we had to eat quickly because we had to drive another 30 minutes to our rafting destination. The restaurant was mostly empty as this was Monday lunch. We also paid and tipped the waitress so we didn’t have to waste time after the meal. Well, the meal was up and under the warming lamp for 15 minutes and our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to ask another waiter(who was serving other tables their food even though they arrived after us), to go find our waitress or food and that we had paid and had to take it to go. We rushed out of there and drove on. Opening our boxes we realized that the food was dry and cold since it sat for 15 minutes. We will never go there again.

I was excited and hopeful to try the new menu items as Chili’s is making a concentrated effort to serve fresher, healthier and higher quality food. Well… I wish I could say I had a good experience but it was almost sad the way the staff was absolutely clueless. There was no one at the host stand for 5 minutes with a long line of people and no sign to say that the bar was open seating. I was there 1 hour and 35 minutes. They forgot my drink order, it came out after my meal. No one checked on me, I had to flag down staff to let them know I needed something. And my food was awful, the fish tacos were soggy and under-seasoned as if they had been sitting out a while. I was surprised to see they didn’t offer to comp drink which came and hour and 20 minutes after I ordered it. Horrible, unapologetic service, careless, thoughtless and lazy meal preparation.

Hungry people make poor choices. I didn’t have breakfast and here we are at 1:00 driving through little town after little town hoping to find something to eat. Well, Chili’s got us as they were the first spot coming in from the North. Overly attentive waitstaff but the food was what we ordered and it was delivered promptly. I particularly enjoyed the table-top kiosk as it meant we could pay immediately and not have to deal with the wait staff again over the check.

Worst experience in a long time. Arrived at 2:15 and got our food at 3:00!!! Not to mention the beer that we ordered that arrived AFTER my dads meal. BADBADBAD. They brought out the wrong food, each plate came out one at a time, and mine had to be remade. We didn’t even see a manager in the place. My husband’s comment is «McDonald’s has better service». Finally leaving at 3:30 and we will NEVERGOBACK.

I’ve been here a handful of times and never had a really good experience until a couple of nights ago. We took our team there after a game and without making a reservation, they were able to sit all 30 of us together and quickly. The service was excellent. I’ve never been able to say that before but we had about 3 different waiters for all of our tables and each one did a great job. Food was tasty too. Very much improved!

The worst wait staff and lack of response from management. The waitress was clueless. Had to ask for napkins as neither those or silverware was brought with the appetizer. Meals took forever to arrive and when they did, one was wrong and arrived cold. It was sent back then was brought out piece meal. No response from manager and he was a aware as he brought out a part of the meal with no apology. Told server 3 times we were celebrating a birthday. Don’t bother with this place as neither the manager or waitstaff care about customers

We went two times, first night the service was not that good rarely saw the server. I had a cheese burger and it was fine. I had chicken and carnita fajita’s the chicken was a little dry but the carnitas were very flavorful. Second time we were going to do the 2 for 20 as I was having the chicken and carnitas, the other person wanted beef fajitas, as an appetizer we ordered the texas cheese fries, the server Lucas told us that the beef fajitas did not come with the 2 for 20 so I said okay just cancel the 2 for 20. So he ended up bringing out the appetizer, I was kind of shocked because I assumed that canceling the 2 for 20 would cancel the appetizer as well. So we were charged separately, but had we known we would have not ordered them. He also did not ask if we still wanted it. Regardless we ate them and they were good I would order them again.

The ribs were good as well as the dessert. They messed up on our order and quick cooked our rib-eye with tasted not so great. The service was slow but acceptable. I guess it’s basically like a chiles everywhere you go. GOBRONCOS!

I had the Cajun Pasta with Shrimp for dinner and it was delicious! Very filing. Also, the strawberry lemonade! They messed up on my motherinlaw’s order, but corrected it and apologized. The service was a little on the slow side, but it was busy.

Great place to eat. Great service followed by delicious food. True, there are other great places to eat in this city, but it comes down to what you’re in the mood for.

I live near by and have been to this chilis many times, as well as chilis in Albuquerque and elsewhere. Unfortunately every single time I’ve been to the Espanola Chilis something goes wrong and I wow to never come back. My wife loves Chilis, so she keeps dragging me back. This time I’m done. Before I start, I recommend Los Archos as a local alternative. Also, I still like Chilis and I will go to any Chilis except Espanola. The server is generally good, but they never have enough wait staff. For some reason there always many large parties of 6 – 12 as this Chilis, which seems to put an extra strain on the whole process. Low to the problems. Every time I’ve been there they have either messed up an order, or taken over 45 minutes from order to serving. I’m saying at least 8 visits! Last night my wife’s fajita meat was burnt to a crisp. Other times we have had to ask the manager to check on our food, and it would still take over 45 minutes from order to server. One time the brownie desert was burned! Avoid this chilis. Try Los Archos for a quieter place with better food(albeit a small menu), local flavor, and just a more enjoyable experience.
