Yum Yum Donuts

Donas rancias!
Pensé que la primera vez que me salieron rancias las donas solo fue un pequeño descuido departe del lugar, pero quise darle una segunda oportunidad a este lugar, pero de nuevo otra sorpresa con el sabor rancio de estas donas, definitivamente no lo recomiendo!

I just walked in there 5 minutes ago at 10:15pm and and I said «hello» and «Excuse me» about 5 times and louder each time I said it. There was a guy in the back and he was making the donuts and I could clearly see him and I even went to the side so he could see me and I said «Excuse me» one more time while he was looking RIGHT at me and he completely ignored me and went back to making donuts. That is so rude! I’ve never had someone look right at me and then completely disregard me. I left immediately after. Never going back.

The guy at night is very rude. He wouldn’t sell me any of the new doughnuts from the back even when there is nothing left in the front, why would they ever refuse to sell? Happened more than once. Soooo frustrating! Seriously just go down the street to Peterson’s doughnuts it’s 100 times better.

went there with my kiddo and found mold on my doughnut checked all others and there was mold specs on all of them we had bought a six pack… just gross.

Why be open 24 hours if you never have donuts past 8p.m. Employees are so rude. Place is run down and old. I went for Donuts at 11p.m. one guy was working and even though there is a loud chime when you walk in he ignored me while working in the back. I had to peer around at him to finally get his attention he came out and he literally yelled at me «No donuts!» I asked if I could buy the donut holes in the case he said they «No they are old» well why are they still in there and why are you open. He said hold on went in the back and never came back! Pretty sure they don’t care about customer service!

When you walk inside, the door makes a chime noise … sorta like a «ding dong». At most places, this is when the customer is approached by the worker … well not at yum yum’s! It took the guy a solid minute or 2 to even acknowledge people are possibly looking to buy something. I almost felt bad for disturbing him while hes busy at work.
Reason for giving a 2 star is because the donuts themselves are wonderful.

The apple fritter that I got was awful. It didn’t look that great to begin with but I thought I’d try it out anyway since those are my favorite. Unfortunately, it tasted just as bad as it looked, it was hard and not fresh at all. I took one bite and ended up throwing the rest away.

We went here in the morning time and the donuts seemed quite dry. What’s worse is that I saw the guy in the back lick his finger! Gross! He was working to glazing station.
Go stand near the register close to the drink machine… who knows what you’ll see. Yikes

stopped by yum yum’s, after trying & failing to get what i wanted at peterson’s (3 dozen custard filled donuts), and this place couldn’t help me either. but its ok, i found a place that was able to help me out… they will get my business now when it comes to donuts. but the service… i was greeted by a 6 foot, 90lb, foreign zombie who didn’t know how to respond when i said «hi»…must be a family owned place, no way an employee would be so unfriendly if their job was on the line. do not waste your money or time. its not clean, not friendly, did i mention not clean?!
this foreign bean-​pole zombie was working on 6÷27÷15 at 8pm and he doesn’t like his job. hope his boss sees this or corporate

It is baffling to me how this donut shop has such a low rating. My father and I went here in the evening for an after dinner dessert and opted for 2 maple buttermilk bars and 2 apple fritters. All of the donuts were under $ 2 each which is a good deal in this day and age. Both varieties were tasty and my dad even went so far as to say that the apple fritter was better than the one at Peterson’s! All I can say is keep doing you, Yum Yum.

I came by last night with my mom because she wanted to buy a dozen donuts to bring to work today. When I entered and saw the display of donuts which looked enticing, I was then disturbed with a fly I saw buzzing around the donuts. Then of course all of a sudden a fly landed on a glazed donut and was just chillin all over that sweetness. That GROSSED me out, but my mom still wanted to purchase some donuts from here. When my mom pointed out the fly on that was on the donut, the lady working there just played it cool and was like «oh really» and she grabbed it and tossed it in the trash. While my mom was picking out her variety for her box of donuts I saw another one whizzing around in there. I’m wondering how the letter A is outside?

Tried to give this place a shot since our favorite place was closed, honestly the worst service. Not only did she not give us the doughnuts we chose, she gave us the old ones which looked dry and not good, and flies flying around in there like no tomorrow! Gross! Hands down never going there again, save your money and tummy go some where else

This place is awful. I walked in and wanted a bagel which is advertised on the windows as SERVED ALL DAY. Anyhow, the guy gave us a look of disgust and was so rude we just left because it was dirty and had bad service.

I ended up getting donuts here because my nephews wanted some for breakfast. This was my first time here. It’s a really tiny shop off of valley parkway. We went around 9am. We got a dozen donuts. The server was nice. There wasn’t anything bad about this place or the service. The donuts didn’t taste that fresh though. It was weird because it was the morning and it should’ve been fresh.
If you’re craving some donuts, I prob would try another place that has fresh donuts and tastes better.

Not to be redundant but… if I could give this place no stars I would. I ordered donuts for my kids birthday and went in to pick them up. When I got there the lady up front acted like she didn’t know where they were, asked the guy in the back, he rudely said he’d sold them a few minutes before I’d walked in! WTF??? The kicker? I’d prepaid for the donuts the day before when I’d ordered them cuz I wanted certain colors. Rude, rude service. No apology and I had to ask for my money back. And the donuts aren’t even that great, they’re just close to my house! Save your cash and hit up Petersen’s or Marte’s Donuts for some good service and amazing donuts. This place is an embarrassment to YUM YUM.

My family went to the Yum Yum on E Valley Parkway in Escondido last Saturday. We ordered breakfast sandwiches that took a good 20+ minutes to get to us. Then mine had no cheese and was so hot I couldn’t eat it. There was Maraichi music playing. I expect that at a mexican restaurant but not first thing in the moring at a Yum Yum. My kids were done with there donuts a few minutes before we got our sandwiches and the oldest said she had to use the restroom. But there is no restroom. To top it off there was one family sitting inside also, who couldn’t smile, they only glared. We won’t be going back in there for a while. The store just isn’t catering to my family. If you have a hankering for some donuts I would not recommend this as your first choice of places to go. The donuts taste like they are mass — produced, came from a mix & wouldn’t be anything special if you got them fresh from the fryer. Blah.

The guys here are total butt holes they are so damn grumpy it’s like they had a stick up there butt and rude as no one I asked him for some specific kind of donut and he said they didn’t have any and all they had was up front… and guess what? I saw them on the rack when I was paying. @&$):@?!@$)&@? HIM !! I have been here many times before and never had a good experience not to mention how rancid and old the oil is where they fry the donuts and become moldy after one day. GGrrrrrrrr!!!@&$?!$@@”&;() They ate the closes yum yum donuts near bear valley but I’ll never go there again. I would give them a none star but that’s not a choice.

This place always has fresh donut holes. Very busy in the AM and at 2:30 — 3:30 pm when Heritage gets out of school. A lot of parents like to drop off their kids in the back of the parking lot but they always cause a traffic jam. I heard that the owner will tow cars that park in front of the shop even if they are buying donuts. I’ve seen the tow truck parked in the front too. Coffee is weak, but, can’t beat the donut holes. Recently they remodeled the parking lot… no more big potholes.

I was feeling fat and wanted to get some donuts.
Actually. I was just hankering for some donuts. Saw the sign and it looked really good.
Cheap food, but not great. I mean the taste was just like any donut.
Now the service, they’re just these cold blooded guys. Like they were up for 90 hours straight, so they were grumpy.
It’s ok. You can try it if you want. But just enjoy the food, not everything else.

Donuts ok, service not real friendly. Didn’t have long johns available at 8:30 in the morning, said to come back in a few hours. Maybe if was an off day for them.
I remember this as the Winchell’s in the 70/80’s. I guess Yum Yum bought out the Winchell’s locations.
