Weston was prompt and courteous. He took care of our problem promptly, called us before he came to give us his arrival time and followed through with what he said he was going to do. No extra charges. Very reasonable. I will call habit plumbing again!

When we received our water bill, we were shocked because our usage was more than double. We suspected a leak but we cannot find any visible sign. Our knee jerk reaction was to call a plumber from Angie’s list. Said plumber did a leak detection test for almost 2+ hours. He said that he cannot pinpoint the exact location of the leak but he recommended a re-​pipe.
After the initial 3 shocks (1.water invoice, 2. slab leak 3. cost to re-​pipe), we decided to call our insurance company for help. The home warranty insurance company directed us to Habit Plumbing. Nick of Habit Plumbing did a very thorough leak detection test that identified the exact spot of the slab leak. Due to Nick’s diligence, he saved us money with the re-​pipe job.

The house that I moved into seems to have a lot of plumbing issues, and I used the Home Warranty to get these fixed. They sent out Habit Plumbing twice and I found them to be very helpful, arriving on time, calling before they came, and able to fix the issues that I was having in a relatively quick time period. They were sink and toilet issues, so not terribly complicated, but something I couldn’t do myself. I would recommend them.

STAY AWAY. Habit Plumbing is the worst plumbing establishment I have ever done business with. They came out to «repair» my water heater and did so by cleaning off the fan. That only put a band aid on the problem for three months and I am left without hot water again. I called, hoping they would apologize and offer to come out and fix the problem. They offered no sympathy and just said «Sorry, the plumber that did work on your home is no longer with us.» and did not accept any responsibility. The home warranty wanted to dispatch them again and said they were not available to come out for 72 hours. In what world does a service based company think it is okay for their customers to be without hot water for over 3 days?
STAY AWAY.

These people should offer a course on excellent service. Their technician, Gonzalo, called well-​ahead of time and discussed with us exactly what are needs were. He was polite and professional. He kept me up to speed on every detail (our property is in escrow and he was working from a Request for Repairs order). All work was completed quickly and efficiently. I could not have hoped for a better result. I would recommend Habit Plumbing without reservation.

This is the letter I sent to American Home Shield regarding the OUTSTANDING Job and Professionalism of Pete from Habit Plumbing. «I would like to take this opportunity to write this letter of appreciation for the outstanding job that Habit Plumbing (760) 294‑5560 Reference #: 367 255 232 performed on my job request placed on May 8, 2016. Technician Pete showed up on time on our scheduled appointment date of May 21, 2016. Not only that he showed up on time but also he made two phone calls letting me know he was on his way. Pete was very professional and expedient. I would definitely use them again and refer them to your customers.

We called our Home Warranty company and they sent Habit Plumbing out to our house. The agent from Habit was knowledgeable, punctual, and was able to fix two issues on the spot.
It was a bit of a challenge finding a common time/​day for an available agent, but I was very happy with the quality of their work once we connected.

Our kitchen sink developed a bad clog and Habit was called through our home warranty with First American. They called me immediately on a Saturday to schedule the visit for Monday. The plumber was on time and courteous and pretty quickly fixed the problem. Once done he cleaned up and even put all the items back that were pulled out under the sink. It was a very nice and pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend them.

When our kitchen sink developed a serious clog First American Home Warranty directed our landlady to Habit Plumbing to fix things up. This turned out to be not a run of the mill sink stoppage but rather one that ran a good many feet away from the house. Habit first sent out Jose and Victor, two very polite, clean and knowledgeable guys. After working hard and being unable to reach the problem, they said it was a job for the «drain guy,» and so Pete came out the next day.
He too was pleasant to deal with and more importantly, had the equipment to solve our problem. Such relief and such happiness on our part! Pete explained that the clog was due to years of accumulated gunk in the pipe. We are now clean and happy! I want to also mention that the woman who coordinated the visits (Moira?) was also helpful and nice. Highly recommend.

Like the rating says, as good as it gets. Had a clogged outlet from water heater. They diagnosed it and fixed it quickly. Courteous service person as well. Will be coming back for sure.

I have never had such a bad experience with a plumbing company in my life. I was unfortunately told to work with this company from First American Home Warranty when my water heater quit working on me.
At first, they seemed nice and professional, and they came out to my property right away. However, my feelings towards the company quickly changed after the technician showed me the estimate for «pipe modifications». I was getting the water heater replaced for free, but I had over $ 300 in charges for pipe modifications.
When I questioned the technician about these charges, he started stumbling over his words and could not give me a real answer. I found this to be confusing, as I know pipes do not cost that much money… And the pipes I already have are in good, working order. So I decided to call a plumber friend to get his honest opinion. He told me that pipe modifications are an incidental part of replacing the water heater and that the pricing given by Habit Plumbing was ridiculous. It does NOT cost that much and he told me to be weary…
When I tried talking to a manager at Habit Plumbing about the invoice and the pricey pipe modifications, he pretty much told me that he didn’t have time for this conversation and that I should just go elsewhere or cash out with the warranty company. So that is exactly what I did! He had such an attitude with me that there is NO WAY I was going to give him my business.
My advice to anyone reading this– STAY FAR AWAY!!! These people know nothing about customer service and will take advantage.

I needed a professional Plummer who could be trusted alone at my residence while I was at work. He arrived and on time, contacted me via phone to receive instructions. He diagnose the problem, then notified me of the findings. Job well done… If anyone is in the need for (5) star service don’t hesitate to contact them.

Great plumbing experience amidst bad circumstances. I noticed water seeping from the bottom of my outside wall and immediately knew there was a leak somewhere. I suspected that the leak might be coming from pipes in a crawlspace on the side of the house.
The first plumber I called wouldn’t even look in the crawlspace and said I had to call a leak detection agency. I called a leak detection agency who confirmed my suspicion of the location of the leak which was in a hot water pipe accessible in the crawlspace
The second plumber I called looked in the crawlspace but would not fix it because of the tight quarters
The third plumber was Chris and he checked it out and immediately got down and dirty and fixed the leak. We now have our hot water back.
I’ll be using these guys again based on this good experience as it’s difficult to find reliable home service professionals

Had some plumbing issues, so our home warranty company sent Chris (co-​owner) yesterday to repair various plumbing issues throughout the house. He was timely, professional, and knew exactly what he was doing. He also gave us some plumbing advice and two free rubber washers.

I was assigned Habit Plumbing through First American Home Warranty. They did show up on time, spent a fair amount of time to diagnose the issue and seemed competent. But when I got the invoice, I was surprised to see $ 150 charge for modifications for what I was told was a simple fix. After reading negative Unilocal reviews, I was suspicious and asked Nick to explain these so called modifications. He ignored my emails and messages, and requests from First American to follow up.
I was finally assigned another plumber who said the replacement and modifications weren’t necessary to begin with. So be weary of these guys and do your due diligence especially if they try to milk you for extra fixes.

I cant express how much of a help this company was to me. I called them out last night, as my kitchen sink clogged up. They answered the phone immediately and they sent a plumber out to my house that same night. I will definitely be recommending this wonderful company to my friends and family. thumbs up guys keep doing a great job!

Fast, professional, quality service and reasonably priced. Would respond even afterhours. Highly recommend!!!
Last Friday I returned home to find my bathroom completely flooded (water was coming from shower, bathtub and toilet at the same time!). I started calling local plumbers but nobody wanted to come over on a Friday evening. However Habit Plumbing didn’t refuse to help and were at my house within an hour. The clog that caused the leak was fixed, and my house was saved from a disaster.
Thanks to Myron and Habit Plumbing for reacting fast in an emergency situation, for coming over so quickly, for being professional and doing such a good job!

A plumber came out to my house & checked out a leak in my bathroom. He said he had to order parts & come back in a few days.
The day that he was supposed to show up, I took time off from work & waited around for him. When it got close to the end of the appointment time with no word from him, I called the company & they said he should be at my house any minute. He never called me or showed up. I called my insurance (American Home Shield) & they called the owner & they said the same thing, the plumber was going to call me & be at my house «any minute now.» It was well after the appointment time & when the company was closed when I finally called my insurance & had them cancel the request. Had I gotten a call or any notice, I wouldn’t have minded the tardiness.
Today I got a bill for the service which is funny when the service actually was never complete. I called my insurance & Habit Plumbing & they both said that the plumber told them that he came to my house but I was never there! That’s amazing to me as I called their company repeatedly asking when he was going to show up & my husband, mother, children, & myself were all waiting for him to get there with our door open. If he showed up, he should’ve left a note on the door like other reputable companies do. In short, the plumber blatantly lied about coming out.
When I called Habit, I asked for the manager to call me but he never did & I’m not surprised. Do not trust this company, they’re incredibly deceitful & I would never recommend them.

Tim the technician/​plumber came by to follow up on my issues with the laundry drain. Tim crawled under the house and made sure the previous fix was done right, tested the laundry drain, moved it over so that the drain was vented, snaked the line and made sure the work was done right. I’m updating my review because TIM made the fix right.

Habit plumbing came and fixed my issues with my laundry waste line. Israel the plumber was knowledgeable, courteous and wanted to make sure our issues were taken care of. That same evening however, As I was doing a load of Laundry, our drain started to overflow (see pic). I immediately texted the owner. I told him that it was a clogged line, that probably dislodged the connection to begin with. I discussed this with the plumber when he was fixing it initially when he came to fix my line. The owner advised me that I should call the warranty company and that they only fix one issue at a time. I advised him that it was the same issue, the same line, and that I would call AHS my warranty company in the morning to make sure it is approved. I can only hope that this company will stand by me when it comes to dealing with the warranty company. For now, I am changing my rating to 3 stars because of Israel, the plumber. I always update my ratings depending on the efforts of the business and most importantly the outcome. We will see what they do to correct our drainage issue tomorrow.
I had a sewer line burst and used my home warranty (American Home Shield). Habit plumbing was dispatched and took the $ 75 dollar fee. The plumber did not crawl into my crawl space and looked at the photos that I took the day before. He advised me that AHS would need to approve the job. HE emailed the request to AHS. Since we don’t know the extent of the leak, my family stopped using all plumbing in our home. WE could not shower, brush our teeth, or use the bathroom. Since there was an open sewage line under the house, we did not feel safe to even use our toilet. I told the plumber this upon his visit. Since he did not crawl under the house to determine it was safe to use our plumbing, we decided not to use it.
The next day, I called AHS and asked if the issue was approved. AHS advised me that all the plumber had to do was call the day of his visit and they would have approved the job on the spot and he could have fixed the issue that same day. Today I called Habit plumbing and advised them that AHS approved the work and would have approved the work the day of the initial response. They said that they could not fix my problem until the following Monday. (Today is Tuesday) That is 6 days of no plumbing. I am very disappointed that habit plumbing could not come sooner to fix my issue sooner. The rep on the phone told us to go ahead and use the rest of the plumbing in the house as directed by the plumber over the phone. Really? Without even looking at the problem? I have posted a 1 star review for now. I normally would not post before the work is done, but since we are not able to basically use our bathroom for 6 days, I am posting this review. I am hoping that they can come sooner. I will update this review once they complete the job.

I have had Habit plumbing (specifically Chris) to my home twice now via my home warranty. Both times have been great but specifically today’s visit has me sold on this company.
Last week we were told by another very shady plumbing company via our home warranty that we didn’t have a stoppage but our main line had busted and we needed to have our bedroom jackhammered and the pipe replaced costing us $ 3,000.
We called the warranty for a second opinion. Chris with Habit came out the same day and had the drain unclogged in 10 minutes. He explained what was going on and unlike the previous plumber actually was honest and respectful.
I could not speak more highly about Habit plumbing and would recommend them to anyone and everyone for honest and reliable work in San Diego.
