California Smog Check & Registration Service

I brought the wrong vehicle’s form, but they were able to complete the smog check by checking the VIN number on the car, saving me a trip home to get the right form. The only drawback was they wanted ca$h in order to get the coupon rate.

Great customer service. The receptionist was very thorough with the information I needed about getting a smog check. We came in she explained the process and our car was in and put in minutes. I highly recommend this place to anyone and will come back for future smog checks.

Awesome place! Very little waiting because they have 3 bays where they can conduct smog testing, fast service, AND they have the ability to give you your registration stickers right then and there! This is my new place for smog testing!

I needed a smog this year on my 2007 Elantra SE. Finding a reputable place that does good work is sometimes a struggle. I’ve lived across the street from this place for years. So, since they were close, I decided to give them a try this afternoon since I was already out running errands and figured I’d stop on my way home.
The woman at the desk was super friendly and took down all of my information quickly. I mentioned the $ 40 Unilocal deal and there was no issue giving me that price. They were able to take my car right away. I barely had time to sit down after the paperwork and do a little Facebook on my phone before I was told it was done.
Seriously, I was stunned. In addition, I wanted to save myself the hassle and wait of getting the tags in the mail or going to the DMV, and they handle that service here for a reasonable fee. Considering the Unilocal deal I got for the smog check, that discount basically paid for my tag service. So, I’m in there for no more than 15 – 20 minutes, less time than it took me to decide whether or not I wanted to indulge in a donut, and I’m out with a passed smog check and brand spanking new tags and registration for my car.
The woman behind the desk was so thorough, she even highlighted the charges on my receipt and explained what each one was and how they got to the total.
When I have to smog again in two years, I’ll be coming back. Great place.

I needed to get a smog check done ASAP. Fortunately, this place was open on Black Friday. I have taken my car here for 2 previous smog checks and decided to take my car here again.
The wait was short. They have donuts but I’ve never eaten them. The front desk worker is super nice and friendly. It is pricey here. I should probably shop around for better deals.

Fast drop in service. Good prices. Free donuts, water and candy. Extra friendly receptionist. Car passed with flying colors. Who could ask for anything more?

Today was the second time I had taken my car to this place, my first experience was fine.
Today however I was fairly upset due to my car having just had work done, and bringing it in and it failed Smog due to this.
It’s understandable why I failed, however what I did not care for was that I still had to pay $ 50 even though I watched them bring it in and they spent less than ten minutes, probably somewhere around 7 – 8 minutes testing it, and finding out that when I come back I have to pay again.
I’ve worked in a service industry and ran my own service desk and there’s no way I would have charged a customer that much for looking at something for ten minutes, then again.
My Jimmies are thoroughly rustled and I will be taking it to a different place next weekend.

You will get ripped off! First they get you in using a penny. Saver lurer! Then double their price! In my case my check engine light bulb was burned out I never noticed it! It should come on when you turn your key on. Then go off when car starts! They new mine wasn’t working!!! And took me in anyway KNOWING it would FAIL! My senior friend went there with her check engine light on! This is a sure fail!!! And took her in and charged her $ 65.00! They are a VERY dishonest company! This is probably why they need to rip people off! They must not understand the best way to sell your product! Which is honesty = REFERRALS!

My brother took my car in the first time and when he SPECIFICALLY asked before hand about the check engine light JUST being turned off because they had just fixed the car and if that would affect the smog they told him no that it should be fine! Low and behold I cannot pass because the car has not been driven enough miles to reset as the problem being fixed.
Next time I went in after driving 100 miles and I am told that I have too much gas in the car to be able to smog it… I know this is possible, but I also know that it is not IMPOSSIBLE to smog!
So then I went back yet again, mind you at this point I was almost willing to pay the regular fee all over again to go somewhere else. This time I passed, YAY! BUT the card I used to pay said it was declined the first time, so I swipe it again. Now you would think you would only be charged once, but no the account was charged twice and when the bank statement is taken in to show that the account was charged twice and we get told there is NOTHING they can do about it that we have to go to our bank and good luck.
I work in a sales industry, I know that even though something doesn’t show on your main screen that when the proof is there the customer is right you reimburse the customer for double charges… I think all around to me it seems this company is trying to make their money any way possible and in that they are not keeping their customers in mind.

Bad experience. Sexist. I got ripped off. Came here later with a man and got a great deal. Never coming here again… Coupons lie. My man didn’t have a coupon and yet his price was half-​off mine. Rude. Wrong. The end.

i just got my smog check here today. i was literally in and out within minutes. When i arrived there was only one person waiting & even still i don’t think i was in this place for anymore than 15 minutes!!! Quick & easy. They charged me $ 45 which included my electronic certificate! I will go here in the future!

Can I downgrade to ZERO stars? Seriously, this owner is ruining his own business. I love how he talks to all of the Unilocal reviewers who write honest reviews. Read the other reviews and read his comments. If you write a one-​star review you must be making stuff up. If you write a five-​star review you must be telling the truth. Wow…
Sorry, when all the low reviews are complaining about the same thing, we can’t all be wrong.
In addition, he must not value his business if he berates, harasses, and puts down customers (or former customers) on Unilocal for writing reviews he doesn’t like. A good business will stand on its own and not worry about the SEVEN reviews that it has on Unilocal.If there are «thousands of satisfied customers» (as he commented to another Unilocal reviewer), then don’t worry about the few who aren’t happy. I’m starting to doubt there are thousands of satisfied customers if so much energy and effort is put into making unprofessional remarks to those who were less than satisfied with their experience at this business. Treating people badly, calling reviews «fake,» insinuating people are lying, telling them to ‘do him a favor and don’t come back,’ and making disparaging remarks about people’s intelligence (to me he said, ‘Your math is as superb as you’re logic, if any.’) isn’t the way to win business back. Are we in middle school? This is appalling. Good thing I blocked him from contacting me.

In and out in NO TIME and I was able to pay my registration (with a fee, of course) there and didn’t have to deal with the DMV since I waited until the last minute!

Willy A. has contacted me with a message on 10/​13/​2011 stating «I would like to offer you a cash refund of $ 25 under the condition that you bump your 3 star to a 5 star rating.» I did not respond to this message at all. I don’t like being bribed.
Willy A. then commented on my review on 10/​14/​2011 stating something similar to his 10/​18/​2011 comment, only he added «we attempted to make you a happy customer, but seems like if somebody is miserable, nobody can make them happy, so I suggest you seek a shrink for your personal issues» and went on to threaten to sue me with the «classy» ending line of «once our lawyer is done with… you.» I have the pdf to show his comments. I can only think he modified his 10/​18/​2011 comment because his lawyer may have advised him that he was harassing me.
If you have an offer of «$ 40 service if you mention Unilocal,» then post it as a Unilocal deal. Plain and simple. Had that been done, I may have given you a better review in the first place.
I have never had an owner of a business come at me before, so this is all new to me. But others need to know what happens if you give an honest review of this business. You will be harassed.

I just went to this place today and I must say I was extremely impressed. I called Mary around noon and she was very pleasant. I asked how much it was for a smog check and she gave me a price that was significantly less than any other place I called and it was the final and only price. I was quite impressed that there were no additional tax or bs charges. When I got there she was very nice and quick. Took my car in right away and as soon as they were done with it they quickly faxed it off to the dmv and I didn’t have do anything else. Since I had paid my dmv fees online she warned me that going into the dmv would be a waste of time because they would be mailing me the sticker. Sure enough I confirmed that this was true. I loved that I could just walk over to home depot and do some shopping and come back to my car and it was parked and ready for me to take it. I couldn’t have asked for a better smog check experience. :) My only complaint is I wish they weren’t so out of the way for me, but it was worth the drive.

I was given a quote on the phone and that is exactly what we paid.
The first thing we noticed when we arrived was it was very clean. We were NOT ignored when we came in the office, we actually got an «I will be with you in a moment».
Willy is the owner and is the most courteous, friendly, and professional person. He accommodates the disabled, which was a surprise to us and a blessing.
We only had to wait a few minutes before our car was taken in. We were in and out in a timely manner. Gotta love that!
I noticed when Willy was talking to someone about their car he did it privately. Now that it what I call considerate!
This is the best test only station anywhere. Please make sure you ask for Willy.

Pros: They smog your car.
Cons: They are expensive, depending on what you look like. My wife took her car there, and was charged what I would consider way too much. Her car failed, and they offered to retest it at a later time for $ 64. I called to ask how much they charged (because something smelled fishy), and was told $ 55 – the manager’s special. Then, they called *me* back and offered to do it for only $ 30. Wtf? You might think this is «getting a deal,» but I think wreaks of shadiness. If customers are not treated fairly, and management is going to magically come up with numbers off the top of their head, I’m not interested.
Update, 10÷14÷11 — Owner of shop appears to think we were after a free re-​test. That’s not it at all, and I think the review never insinuates that. What I want is fair customer treatment. Don’t quote my wife a higher price than me for the same job. I’d like to believe you don’t treat all women that way.
Additionally, Lucky P. speaks the truth. I’ve received at least two solicitations from you to raise my review of your business. It’s not going to happen.
Update, 03÷08÷12 — Willy apparently thinks that customers who think something is wrong with his business are «forgetful» or THEY are the ones pulling the con. Why in the world would I want a free smog? Isn’t it clear from my review that I will NEVER be returning to the business? I could be offered 20 free smogs, and I’d still walk away. And in fact we have! It’s been years since the original review and I’ve smog plenty of cars at OTHER shops. That’s the whole point of the review. The place is shady. Beware!
Update #2, 03÷08÷12 — Because I really want to help protect fellow Unilocalers, I will provide a redacted copy of my checking account statement which shows a transaction for Willy’s shady shop to any Unilocaler that is in doubt. $ 80.90. Yes, that’s right — just go try to find something MORE EXPENSIVE. Maybe reviewers should start listing whether they are male or female and how much they paid? Despite Willy’s campaign against the truth, what you read here did happen. I don’t have enough time to fake stuff like this.
