C&R Pavers

My husband and I got multiple bids to remodel our backyard. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to go with C&R. They were amazing. Once they started, the job moved quickly and was completed on time. The service and quality they provide is so high that their prices should be much higher. The crew showed up on time every day and worked so hard. David was great to work with. We highly recommend!!!

I used C&R pavers for a complete upgrade of my front yard and pool area including demo, tree stump removal, drainage, pavers, and turf. The crew did an outstanding job on site and I could not be more happy with the results. I went with C&R pavers because they did everything in-​house and wouldn’t have to call in subcontractors for some of the extras. The 3 stars are for the administrative side of the house. My design guy was Steve and after our initial assessment, he was very hard to get on the phone and took a long time to reply to emails. I eventually started calling the main line and communicating with Regina, because she was much more responsive. My biggest concern was that when I went to make the final payment and was charged for work that had not been done. In my initial estimate there was a $ 1,500 charge included to replace the pool skimmer, which ended up not having to be done, however when I went to make final payment the $ 1,500 was included and had I not mentioned to Regina, I would have given them an extra $ 1,500 for work they did not do! So the on-​site crew gets 5 stars, but the administrative side left me with a lot to be desired.

We looked at 5 paving contractors and selected C&R after comparing quotes and after going to look at the references of completed jobs they had done.
After meeting Cesar and discussing our plans we negotiated a price. Cesar was very professional in the negotiation process. We liked his personality and friendly style. We had to choose a start date 3 weeks ahead as we needed to get HOA approval.
C&R is run by the owners, Cesar and Regina. Both very pleasant. We never met Regina, she is C&R’s point of contact person, but was always pleasant and returned my calls relatively quickly. Once approved, the product was ordered and they came on the date they promised.
Our project was 700 sf walkway/​patio job. Not too complicated, but did require some detailed cutting of the pavers. We had old footings for our pergola that required some finessing of paver cutting and they did a great job working around the posts. Before they started work on the demolition of the old walkway and patio, they covered all our artificial turf in the backyard with plastic, covered all the windows and sliding glass doors with plastic to prevent damage. The job was expected to take 5 days. It took 5 days. The three workers who were on site were friendly. Julio, who was the in-​charge person on site could not have been nicer and answered all my questions as they came up. Pedro and Daniel were also there but I did not communicate with them. Any water pipes from our irrigation that were broken because they were under the patio were replaced with new piping at no cost. They came every day at 7:30 am and worked till 3:00 or so. They cleaned up the job site everyday before they left. I would highly recommend C&R for paving work. Ps I had Cesar give me a quote for turf replacement also.

Steve cancelled first appt due to car problems. We both agreed to reschedule for 10 am today. So far no calls to confirm and no show. Maybe they do a good job like the reviews say but I will never know that…

C & R Pavers just remodeled my backyard. My husband and I are thrilled with the results! We started out obtaining three quotes for the work we wanted. This included: demolition of concrete slab backyard flooring, tumbled pavers put down for patio flooring with in floor electrical lighting, an outdoor gas fireplace, stone veneer applied along the back retaining wall and around our BBQ island, a pad made of pavers for a new spa, artificial turf, and a new gate installation with stone veneer columns.
After meeting with David at C & R Pavers I knew this was the company I would hire! As it turns out, they were also the better priced quote! These guys are meticulous with their work. They are proud of what they do and it shows everyday while they work. Take a look at our before and after pictures! We highly recommend C & R Pavers!

Well not sure why I got a no show bid. I called and left message. Lady called back and made an appointment to come by and quote some pavers for my backyard. Well no one showed up and there was no phone call. Still no phone call to date. Not going to use any company that does that. :(

We just had a new patio installed by C&R Pavers and we couldn’t be happier with the results!
We received a few quotes from different companies before choosing our contractor. C&R Pavers was referred to us by a friend’s contactor that wouldn’t travel «so far south.» We were impressed with C&R Pavers from the get-​go. They are a «full service» company that came in far under what others were charging just for the pavers. Not only did C&R do a beautiful job with the pavers, but they also re-​worked our irrigation system, built a retaining wall, and repaired the flaking stucco on our house that was hidden by the old wooden deck.
They were very responsive to our needs/​requests, were creative in problem-​solving those inevitable «hiccups» that come with home renovation projects, and they didn’t stop working until we were completely happy with every detail of the project. Cesar and his crew are top notch and we would highly recommend them to anybody looking to have pavers installed.

I called to have them come out & give me an estimate for some pavers… They were very prompt in returning my call, coming out to give me an estimate & follow up. We ended up going a different direction, but should we ever need pavers in the future I will definitely use this company because of their professionalism!

To start, my husband and I had gotten multiple bids from different companies. Every Saturday one was scheduled to come over, check out our yard and quote us. Not a single company did we feel comfortable with nor gave us the «right» quote until we met with C & R Pavers. From the moment I called and talked to Cesar, I knew that he was going to be our guy.
We had looked at different brochures and catalogs from paver companies and there was this one hardscape design that looked just absolutely beautiful. We called the company and asked about that type of paver, and the rep from that company told me to call Cesar because he was the guy that did the job that was in that catalog. I thought, he must be expensive if his work is in catalogs and brochures, but I called him anyway and am so glad that I did! He was the one that was the MOST reasonable and the one that was the nicest!
Cesar and his wife Regina came over and were such a pleasure to work with. I felt as if we were dealing with family. They are honest, sincere and very humble people. We felt very comfortable with them and decided to seal the deal! Our backyard now looks like it came straight out of a magazine! Beautiful work! Everyone that comes over compliments our yard and asks «Who did this?»
Not only do they do beautiful work, but they finished it in a very reasonable time. Every day, there was tremendous progress. They are a very hard working team.
I’m also happy to say that C & R Pavers also redid my cousin’s backyard! So happy that I can refer C & R to family and friends.

I wholeheartedly recommend C & R Pavers to anyone that is looking to redo their backyard! You will not regret it. Best investment we ever made… by far!

C&R Pavers is amazing! We had Cesar come visit us 3 times because we were being indecisive about what we wanted for our hardscaping, but we got more ideas from Cesar and started adding some things.
Cesar was patient and helped us til the end. Even during the installation he helped with minor changes to make the project even better. He ordered extra material to make sure everything was complete and we ended up with a little bit extra for stairs/​wall area.
His staff is just as amazing. They greeted us every morning and we were able to talk to them. His team made us feel welcome to the project and make sure we knew how the progress was doing and what the schedule was. We highly recommend Cesar and the C&R Pavers team. Their craftsmanship is awesome and price is fair. They even completed a 3 week job a half week early!
Cesar provided diagram for us to submit to HOA approval. He replied to calls/​messages promptly before and during the installation. One of the best parts of C&R is that the team is part of C&R not subcontracted. Great experience and highly recommend.

Fastest Contractor this side of Rio Grande!
Throughout the years, I have had over 100 contractors working on my various estates, I had one nightmare contractor (read my reviews) but most of my contractors are good ones; however, I can precisely state that if not the best, yet surely C&R Pavers have been one of my greatest experiences with the contractors.
C&R Pavers is the fastest contractor which I have ever had! Usually contractors Lie Up and make sweet promises that they will finish the job in a few weeks, yet they can’t meet the deadline. In case of Cesar (C&R owner) it was opposite! Once the job finished, Cesar told me: I have never lied to you. I told him: Yes you did, but you Lied Down! Meaning that at the beginning, Cesar said this job will take 3 weeks, yet in the contract he wrote that this job will take 2 weeks (I said no way); however, he ended up finishing the job in 13 days (under 2 weeks)! I told Cesar: You lied down to me 3 times! I have never seen something like this in my whole life! Cesar assigned 3 to 6 guys strictly working on my courtyard from morning to evening, while the 7^th guy done the deliveries of goods. Even though having 3 other jobs at the time, Cesar himself supervised and even worked with the labors on my courtyard and he got it done under 2 weeks!
This was no small job. I was building a large size front courtyard over 1400 Sq Ft using 3 contractors (Construction, Iron workers and Electrical). C&R has done the major job as the construction contractor building pavers, retaining walls, columns, drain system, etc. The front courtyard gave a classic mansion look to the house, a very classy work indeed.
C&R consists of Cesar Jimenez (owner), Regina, his wife (accounting /​admin) and about 12 workers (some family). Cesar had 15 years of experience in the field and for many years he has been sub contracting for other companies doing pavers until a few years ago he built C&R.
So when you hire C&R, in a way, you cut the middle man and go directly to the source. Once he created C&R, Cesar has done no more sub contracting but focused on his own company. C&R does not sub contract other companies to do various jobs. C&R has its own crew, equipments and vehicles. Unlike various Mickey Mouse Outfits out there, C&R has a full line of professional labors and equipments of its own.
Once Cesar drops by your house, he does not sweet talk you nor gives you amazing promises, yet he is very straight forward, cuts through the chase and clearly tells you of what he can do for you, the best way to do it, your logical options, how much it will cost and how long it will take. He is a no nonsense guy.
I interviewed 5 different companies for this job and I chose Cesar because it was obvious that he knew the City of San Diego’s legal codes and technical aspects but none of the others knew the technicalities! At that moment, I knew that this is the guy I wanted!
Cesar and his crew are knowledgeable, honest and hard working. C&R basically does any type of outdoor construction and some indoor construction. You can hire anyone you like but I promise you that you will never find someone so detail oriented, professional, knowledgeable, and with reasonable prices as C&R. I will also guarantee that you will never find someone as fast as C&R. No way and no how that another contractor can do the job this speedy!
That side of Rio Grande belongs to some other cat, but Cesar and C&R are the fastest cats this side of the Rio Grande! I personally seen them in action, I guarantee it!

From the start, Steve at C&R was very easy to work with. He offered design assistance (which others would charge for), and worked with us to get the most for our budget. In addition to the pavers, they were able to include lighting and turf for a complete package.
Once the work started, Caesar and his employees were extremely clean and professional, and VERY fast. Our project was done in just about 4 – 5 days. They were very accommodating to tweaks/​changes in the design, and even helped connect our irrigation system. Steve stayed involved during the whole process to make sure everything was done as promised. My wife and I are very happy with the finished product.
I would highly recommend C&R!

Caesar and Regina are amazing! They are the most honest and professional contractors I have ever worked with. They replaced the stamped concrete patio, walkways, stairs and supporting walls around my house. They were so fast, every day I came home from work shocked to see the progress. The workers were all excellent and Caesar always made sure to to be in constant contact with them to make sure everything was going according to plan. When I made changes to our plans, they never nickle-​and-​dimed me on anything. Caesar was extremely flexible and helpful and ask for the final payment until everything was done to my satisfaction. I would recommend them highly!

We hired CandR pavers to work on our backyard and they did a fabulous job. They installed the Angelus San Stone Mocha pavers in our backyard and also created raised garden beds for plants. Right from the first step in paving job which is doing the analysis of the area, creating designs and preparing architectural diagram to actual work, they were fantastic. They not only showed us various pictures of their recent jobs done in SD county but also helped us choose a particular type of a paver.
The contractors who were actually working were very professional & extremely knowledgeable. They removed our existing stamped concrete (covering an area of about 800 sq. ft.) within a day and in next couple days they finished installing the pavers by carefully working around the drainage lines and removed unwanted sprinklers. They also removed the concrete beneath the AC unit which was amazing. They guys knew what they were doing and never tried to cut corners. Each and every single paver block was carefully put into place.
The quote they gave us was probably the best when compared to many quotes we received. They saved us a lot of money. I would highly recommend them.

THE BEST OF THE BEST !!! They have just finished my driveway backyard pool deck fire pit and retaining wall. The guys show up everyday on time and it is amazing how fast and how much they get done in a day this is my second large paver job here in san diego and the first one was a mess and nothing but trouble so I went into this job interviewing as many pavers as I could and C&R surly delivered I could not be happier
I wish all contractors could be on the same level as these guys So please take my word I have shopped around you can’t go wrong with C&R Thanks

C&R Pavers replaced our front walkway and added an additional patio area. They were very professional and completed the job in a timely manner. The quality of the job and the materials used were excellent. Wouldn’t hesitant to hire them again!

I can’t say enough good things about C and R pavers! They installed a new patio in my backyard and even though it was a smaller job, they treated it with as much attention as all of their others, they were very fast, and did it at a very good price. Their quality is top-​notch, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are a relatively new company but Cesar and his crew have over 15 years of experience. They were making other contractors rich in those 15 years and recently decided to go into business for themselves. If you need paver/​landscaping work you should definitely give them a call.

C AND R completed my yard last week. They removed all my old railroad tie retaining walls and replaced them with wall material. they also replaced my pool deck, put in pathways, a sitting area with fire pit, helped create a garden area. The workers were all professional and polite. The work was all professionally done. It was a very large job and we are very pleased. I also highly recommend them. They saved us quite a bit of money over the big box paver companies!

What can I say. C and R Pavers exceeded my expectations and was a great choice. Price was very competitive… Always showed up in time… Outstanding customer relations… Completed in record time… Trustworthy…Would recommend without hesitation… Don’t miss out and hire them for your next paver or landscaping project.
