Echoing many of the same negative reviews (frustration, aggravations, etc) here on Unilocal and other websites.
Stanley warranty (if u call it that!?) is the worst. They denied my claim despite what was confirmed to me at the time of new contract/​policy. But it doesn’t end there… the subsequent and my ongoing (yes, still!!!)to get what little of a refund I can get:
1. when I cancelled the policy (there was no reason to keep a policy that the carrier refuse to service!!!), they gave me literally, «pennies on the ($ 100’s) of dollars» I paid only a few months ago. Also, I have received «zero» ($ 0) benefits/​coverage.
2. «Months later» — the refund check (if you can call it that!) was received.
3. The refund (!?) check was returned due to «NSF» (Non-​sufficient Funds = $ 0)!
4. I emailed Stanley multiple times, but no reply.
5. Due to #3 & #4 (above) I called & attempted to speak to their «Customer service”(!?) And Billing Departments, but only to be placed on hold for «1hr +» and yet, still unable to speak to a «live person”(!?).
6. Due to #5 (above) as a failed attempt, tried to reach them by «Fax» (800−764−3049 as on their email correspondence and website) many, many times, but yet still unsuccessful — it was «busy» and then the error (!?) that the fax was «disconnected»!
Stanley: please fix your operational problems and hire people to resolve and «service» your customers with all the money you collected, but never rendered service on! I (along with countless other policy holdera/​homeowners) deserve my refund.
Please re-​issue my refund check.

this place is a total joke. I own a small appliance repair business. Greg called me one day asking me if I’m looking for more calls. Being a business owner, of course I am. He seemed really sketchy. I should have known better but I decided to give it a try. I get the customer info and schedule an appointment. I go out and evaluate the problem. Call Greg and he gives an authorization number. I was able to complete the call on the same Day. The customer was extremely pleased with the service I provided. Its been almost a month now and I still haven’t received any form of payment. Every time I call I get an excuse. My advise to any servicers (or home owners) out there thinking about working with this joke of a company, don’t do it. Greg is a joke. This company is unethical and has no morals. I wish negative stars were an option, and if they were, there wouldn’t be enough of them

If it were possible to give these crooks no stars, I’d give them that, because that’s what they deserve.
My company has a judgment against them for over $ 9000 which they have been evading for a year.

They have been ordered to cease and desist doing business in Florida, Texas (states that I know of) and are under investigation in New Jersey.

Buyer BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! They schedule service but refuse to pay for repair if it is above $ 150 or deny claims with minimal or no explanation that makes no sense. You end up paying out of pocket. No one answers the phone. You cannot get anyone in claims, customer service. In order to reach anyone, you have to call at least for a week over 10 times a day. Good luck! I tried cancelling my plan and they will cancel the plan but they will not refund your money. Its a scam!!! I am so sorry I ever bothered with them. I could have saved me money and frustration. What a WASTE!!! WHAT A MISTAKE!!!

These people are crooks. I am a single disabled woman who has been victimized by this company. They lie to get you to join, then deny coverage on everything they promised they covered. You ask for a refund, they deny any refund even when your recorded conversation with the sales manager proves they lied, they still deny a refund. So then you are stuck and call for service. They don’t answer their phone or put you on hold for hours. My longest wait time 2.5 hours. I call for a supervisor, they place you on hold again for hours. They deny access to supervisors by doing this. T
his is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. When I finally reached a supervisor who promised to pay a portion of a claim and that every claim I filed in the future would go directly to him and would be handled appropriately and promptly. Then I file a claim and never hear back for weeks, Later receive a notice I am no longer a member for non payment which is NOT TRUE as it has been deducted automatically out of my account and I am so frustrated with the waste of time and loss of money I can not recover. Its bad enough getting ripped off by anyone but when companies like this prey on the disabled, it reveals just how far they will go to make a buck and that disgusts me. These people should be put in jail. I am filing every complaint I can against them.

Do not trust this company. Most unprofessional and unethical business I’ve ever run in to. Warranty provided plumbing clear out but they didn’t acknowledge and instead they disputed. Took a whole day for them to agree with terms that were in plain language of their own agreement. Took more than 10 calls with holds and hang ups and threats and managers just to get what I paid for. But then I didn’t. Although they finally sent a plumber, turns out I find out four months later they didn’t pay him. Report to bbb and attorney general. Run don’t walk.

HORRIBLE!!! Unilocal should allow negative stars! Even this 1 star is not deserved!
Our pump broke and they left us without water in our home for almost 2 weeks! No showers, toilets, water for food and we have pets who need water! Had to haul bottle after bottle from the store, which is a 45 minute drive from our home.
You can’t get calls returned, all their voices are the same, but the names keep changing, they claim they have 2000 employees working, but no one answers the calls or is helpful in any way, the call goes straight to music like musac and then drops your call after over 30 minutes of wait time. IF you reach someone they are really rude and say they are checking for you or will transfer your call, and you get the music and dropped call again! They couldn’t find anyone in our area to service our pump. In fact they had someone 2 ½ hours away that they said were supposed to come out… although they didn’t give me a time on the email and I couldn’t reach them AGAIN to find out, so I found the company online. When I called they said they refused to take my claim and they don’t work for Stanley Warranty anymore! Too many non-​pays.
So I had to find my own technician, then another joke! They have «special» numbers for your technician to call, where they can get a credit card to pay for the services right away and the numbers all go to voicemail that says «mailbox full» so your tech can’t even leave a message!
Don’t believe anything they say! They sold us with a «great deal today only!» Watch out!

I bought Stanley’s Bronze plan for appliance repair in May, and the experience has been nothing but HORRIBLE, for the 3 – 4 times I needed repairs since.
Their claim phone # (888.550.8123) is super difficult to get through. When it does get through (1 out of 10 times), they can direct you to a voice mail box in the middle of a conversation. When you finally get to talk to someone, they will provide information that’s WRONG: they gave me a repair shop’s phone # that turns out to be non-​functioning (real example: they gave me 347.234.5969 for a so-​called «American Appliance Repair», which is non-​functioning when I called). They also make «promises» that do not have any merit (e.g., «will get back to you in 24 hrs», which they never do), or they will «schedule» an appointment that is no-​show. They also attempt to make an «appearance» to call me to follow up, except nothing they say are either true or realized. E.g., the guy on the phone will give me their supposedly direct phone # or email address (to «make sure I can reach them»), which they never responded to.
I’ve already file a formal Better Business Bureau complaint against them, as I think they are a FRAUD.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

I wrote my previous review on Stanley Warranty (aka Stanley Safe Club, Stanley Auto Club, Stanley Warranty, LLC, Stanley Home Warranty, etc) where they have refused to pay their contractors and vendors. Since then I’ve gotten nowhere with the company and have filed a small claims case against them in court. In the process of filing this I needed to find an agent of process to serve the court papers to and here is what I found. I’m putting this here so hopefully no one else will have to pay to get this same information and it’ll be readily available for others needing to file suit against these crooks.

Original Review: As a business owner who has done work for them, I can’t in good faith recommend them. They are difficult to deal with, almost impossible to get a hold of and won’t return any messages or calls. They have multiple complaints about not paying their contractors, which is what they’re doing to me. So please avoid giving them your time, money or service.

Worst home warranty company ever. I thought American Homeshield was bad. But compared to Stanley, AHS is amazing. I bought this plan hoping for better service and I have gotten nothing close to it. They have a very cumbersome process to assign technicians. Instead of simply giving you a list of vendors when you file a claim, so you can be proactive and set up an appointment, they send it to dispatch which finds a technician, sets up and appointment and then you get a call or email. The whole process add time when what’s needed is timely access to people who can repair when you need fixed. They had no good answer for why they do things this way.
The real frustrating situation came when they selected a vendor that doesn’t even service my area. Even more frustrating is when I called to find out what was happening with my appointment, I couldn’t get through to customer service This is supposed to be a national service company, yet they don’t have the capacity to answer their phones. I had to leave a message, which wasn’t returned. I had to call back the next morning. I realize people take negative comments with a grain of salt. But folks, this has been exceptionally bad and I don’t want consumers seeking the protection of a home warranty to have an already frustrating situation with something broken in their home, have the scenario compounded by an incompetent organization. Save yourself, go with AHS, and at least you’ll get competent customer service and timely access to vendors to fix your problem.

Spent more than 6 hours on the phone trying to call them to renew my policy, if you ask any question that they don’t like they will hang up on you (no exaggeration). these guys are extremely unprofessional. i invite you to just try calling their number and speak with their «best of the breed» sales people. Even the sales process is a pain in the neck. i hired them for a year and they will never respond to any of the calls. anything you report (if you manage to get to their customer support line) will be considered an «exclusion» regardless how big or small it is. All what they care for is the deductible. and that’s where they make their money. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I just found out recently through a friend of mine that, Stanley Warranty is closed for business. Their website indicates the same.
I am not at all surprised.

SCAM!!! They are not a real company. They have numerous numbers all over the country so they can’t be located and prosecuted. Research so you don’t get fooled like me! almost 180 complaints through the BBB in the past year. They take your money and you are not covered if you file a claim. Run, don’t walk away from this company.

If you are a contractor, do NOT do business with these guys. We fixed a furnace for a client of theirs back in October, and then did more work for them in November, and we still have not been paid. Every time we call, we get pushed off on some mysterious, «Lori» who never does anything more than make us submit the invoices for the 20^th time. Not only did we lose out on money they owe us, we could have been helping paying customers at the time… opportunity cost as well. This is so frustrating.

We bought a gold plan from stanley warranty a year ago. a month ago our refrigerator stopped working, we called stanley to file a claim, their rep was very helpful on the phone. They scheduled a for a repair man to come in with no fee to me, they found the problem and fixed my fridge.

I signed up for this warranty before a year as it sounded too good to be true as they said their policy didn’t have any deductible. When my furnace didn’t work, they didn’t send anyone to fix it but kept postponing forever. No deductible is not good deal if they don’t send anyone, so I didn’t bother to renew. Now after a year they automatically charged my card 600 $ though they said they’ll not save my credit card. When I called them they said they are only selling policy for universal administrator and they can’t refund any amount and I need to talk to universal administrator.
This company is not honest and don’t offer any service. Please save your money and hire a contractor yourself without relying on this warranty.

This company is a rip off! Don’t waste your time or effort! Yes they might be cheap but there’s a reason why they are cheAp! Once they get u in they treat you like crap!!! I got the auto warranty and decided to cancel it because I changed my mind!!! I canceled not even 24hrs and they left me on hold for over 20 mins kept passing me off then I ended up with my first sales rep which he told me I couldn’t cancel and had to wait until the next day to call because he didn’t understand why I needed to cancel!!! It’s none if his business why but I did tell him why and he said that’s not a good enough reason! Who gives him the right to tell me! It was a rip off that’s why! Well then he hung up on me and I had to call back but this time demanded to cancel! My sale rep was rude and they need to find better people! We have the right to cancel no matter why! If u google Stanley they are all over

DON’T EVER USE THEM! I had the worst experience of my life with Stanley Home Warranty. I originally signed up for a 2 year term with Stanley Home Warranty on September 13, 2012 after they agreed to a price match with a competitor for a similar 2 year term. The sales person I used was Jodi Goldberg. I subscribed to their most elite plan (gold plan) and had several add-​ons including due to owning a larger home. I was very specific with them prior to the sale in writing of what needed to be included for coverage and they agreed to match the price of a competitive quote for a 2 year term for which I paid $ 1798 inclusive of all the special add-​ons. Given the 30 day waiting period, the policy did not go into effect until 10÷13÷12.
In mid-​December, our garbage disposal was leaking and my wife called in a service call and were told that leaks were not covered because it is not due to the actual unit. We had our own plumber come out who determined the leak was due to a crack in the garbage disposal and after review of Stanley’s policy, this was covered. I called back the Service number at Stanley, and was told at that time, that we would need to submit an invoice for the new disposal since they would only cover replacement cost of a similar unit, however, Stanley determined they would only reimburse $ 65 and would not cover labor. After doing some research, I discovered that the cheapest a replacement unit would be for the quality and HP of our unit would be $ 119, not including labor. On January 3^rd, I called back and spoke with the rep at Stanley again who was extremely rude and dismissive, however, said that a Supervisor would get back to me.
At the same time, we started having issues with our In-​Ground Pool salt water chlorination system and I wanted to create a service call for this, and again was told that this was not covered since it was a «maintenance» item which is not covered. I again argued with their rep and explained that this is an integral part of a salt-​water pool and asked him to prove it in writing in the list of exclusions — at this point he hung up on me.
Given the above two issues, on Jan 7^th, I called again and asked to speak with a supervisor and was finally put in touch with Stan Mankovsky (owner of Stanley Home Warranty) and once again outlined both of these issues and my dissatisfaction which was leading me to consider cancelling my policy. He asked me to send him an email and put in writing with all the supporting documentation the details of both the disoposal and swimming pool repair needed. I sent him the email on 1÷10÷12. On 1÷17÷12, I received a return email from him in which he conceded that Stanley should have paid for both the disposal and labor and agreed to $ 119 for the disposal and $ 100 for labor. He then stated that he would still need to speak with the underwriter about the pool issue and would get back to me the next day.
After once again getting no follow-​up the next day, I sent a final letter dated 1÷18÷13 requesting cancellation of my entire policy. Based on my calculations with the policy going into effect on 10÷13÷12, I should have received a pro-​rata refund of the 24 month contract minus 4 months of use (at the most) and a $ 50 administration fee per the contract fine print, which would have resulted in a refund of $ 1500. I had not been paid anything for the disposal at the time, so there was no deduction.
Instead, after numerous letters and phone calls, I finally received a check in the amount of $ 1124.98 on February 25^th after the first check that they supposedly sent me mysteriously never arrived and I insisted they send the second check with a tracking mechanism.
Given the fact that I had Stanley Home Warranty in effect for at the most 3 – 4 months during which no claim had been paid and due to the worst customer service in the world, I would have expected a full refund, and at the very least the full amount owed back to me of $ 1500.
