HI my name is Gohar B. co-​owner of Magic Market and Bakery. here is our store in short, me and my husband live in Armenia and Middle East for years own small café there. when we move to US we are thinking to open bakery or café. Friend randomly wanted to eat here. It’s not really a restaurant and more like family run mini market. Tried to order a chicken thigh but they did not have it? That was a little strange. I ended up with just the chicken breast plate which was about $ 10. It was grilled alright but nothing spectacular about it. The rice was just plain white rice and it was not seasoned with saffron or something which was something I was accustomed to. They served some flat bread on top of the whole plate so it covered up the meal; their food presentation could use some work. I got a whole pepper and tomato as the «salad».
Nothing special about this place and I paid a premium for it. I could cook this myself at home.

My wife and I discovered the Magic Market and Bakery by accident last week when at Sleep Train. It is a wonderful find for us. First visit we had lunch at the market and took a soup home for dinner. My lunch included beef stroganoff and a dill cucumber salad. Outstanding! Back this week for coffee and having their yogurt soup tonight. We are delighted to have stumbled upon this café/​market.

Finally a great and authentic Ethnic Food Restaurant in Encinitas. I am so tired of the chain restaurants masquerading as ethnic food. I loved loved my lunch today. I did not have a chance to try the pastries yet they look fantastic. The place was spotless… not sure where the one star reviews saw otherwise. Service was wonderful, though I wish they had more outdoor seating room. Jacob B… are you sure you went here? They do not have an applewood bacon and egg sandwich. They do not hire high schoolers as it is mostly mature adults and family employees

5 Stars for QUALITY! Will definitely be returning here, a lot I’m sure. The baked goods display is beautiful and tantalizing to the tongue. The savory /​dinner case was my favorite with skewered meats perfectly seasoned — delicious! The have freshly made tabbouleh, hummus, baba ghanoush etc… Of course, all of the grocery items as well. Obviously, I was excited about the deli area.
I highly recommend stopping by this inexpensive healthy lunch destination that offers an array of options. Dinner too!

I came in because I have heard great things about their bakery selection and it was as amazing as described! The owners are incredibly nice people who make everything from scratch. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to pick up a few tasty treats– my favorite was the walnut merengue napoleon! Yummy!

My friend told me about this place, so I went there on my birthday to get a cake. I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection of treats in their bakery. Every pastry and cake look like a little masterpiece! I got a raspberry and chocolate cream cake, and it was not only beautiful, but also absolutely delicious. The price was decent for the amount of effort they put into that cake. I’m absolutely amazed! I’m going back soon and bringing my friends with me!

Went to Magic Market and loved the food! I had the beef kabob, juicy and well seasoned. My wife had the chicken kabob and it was outstanding. It came with a delicious salad and grilled vegetables. The owner is extremely friendly and he serves generous portions. Prices are reasonable. The bakery section of the market is a sight to be seen, it is so fabulous! I recommend it highly.

Horrible food & experience, I had lunch there, they cheated on portion of food & it was half cold because it was heated in microwave. I also ask for beef kabob, they gave me a bad tasting smelly kabob, when I tried to find out what they gave me, finally owner admitted it was Half ground chicken & half beef. When I objected that i didn’t order this, they all got rude, didn’t even apologize, I ended paying $ 24.00 for some lousy food.

What a pleasant surprise to find this market close to where I live. They have a full butcher/​meat counter as well as misc. middle eastern grocery products used in mediterranean cuisine.
Staff was friendly.
The star of the show was their LAMB sandwich on a pita drizzled with garlic sauce served with pickles and hummus. REALLY DELICIOUS.
Unfortunately there was a price discrepancy this time around. Four days ago I paid $ 7.50 for the sandwich but today it was FOR SURE $ 9.50. CHICKEN is $ 7.50 NOT LAMB.
I thought to myself gee I must have gotten my numbers wrong so I went home and looked in my trash for my old plate. There it was my styrofoam plate from 4 days ago with the price still attached to it $ 7.50.
Maybe have a price list with set prices behind the meat counter ?
I might go back eventually.

Ok having become a regular, and seeing the vast variety of interesting and tasty foods… in combination with the most wonderful people who work here. I am apologizing for my former review of 4 stars. I thought initially that that was a very strong endorsement. I know now that 4 stars did not do this business justice.
The bakery is outstanding. Great meats… and meals cooked for you that are outstanding. They have added a wonderful sit down area that was not there when I did my initial review. I love the fact that I can buy homemade hummis, baba ganoush, and learn about other items. The beet/​walnut spread? salsa? changed my life… If you value independent hardworking enterprise you need to support this business.
